Angel at the Hotel
Honestly, how delightful it would be if, instead of greeting others with judgment, we could all be free to express our happiness, love and joy to perfect strangers. What a different world it would be.

How to Manifest Things Right Away!
You’ve visualized, meditated, affirmed, watched “The Secret” and read all of the Law of Attraction books and (darn it!) you still haven’t manifested what you want!
Unfortunately, I agree with Sharon Salzberg. It’s what many LOA teachers don’t tell you. Sometimes…things…take…time…to…manifest. There, I said it!
You may have wondered if you're doing something wrong, saying your affirmations improperly, or misreading your intuition and making bad choices. I've discovered that life doesn't seem to go in a straight line for most of us. Despite what many self-help books imply, you don't usually sail effortlessly from the completion of one successful achievement into another.
The Universe is at work behind the scenes helping you climb the ladder to your success. There is a Divine intelligence that knows exactly what you need in order to grow into the next, new experience you want to create.
Susan Jeffers writes in her wonderful book, "End the Struggle and Dance With Life" -- "When we are spiritually evolving, we are in a better place to handle whatever life hands us." She adds, "We all want quick and easy, but when it comes to becoming a spiritual being, speed doesn't work."
I've had many experiences in my life that felt like failures. At the time it was hard to imagine I was anywhere near to achieving the goals I so desperately wanted. Yet when I look back at those situations with a few decades of hindsight, I can see that the Universe had put those seeming detours in my path to help me grow into my vision.
While it may have appeared to me that nothing was happening, the changes that were taking place in my emotions, thoughts and spiritual growth were profound. It's as if Divine Intelligence knew exactly what I needed to overcome the limiting beliefs I held about myself and the world. God was readying me for what I needed in order to be able to achieve the next steps in my life.
You may think your goal is to get that promotion, to find your life partner, or to write a best-selling book. There's nothing wrong with that! However, God uses your desires to help you learn about love, forgiveness, kindness, community, wisdom and patience along the way. Trust and faith are the qualities to focus on while the forces of Universal wisdom do their work to assist in your spiritual unfolding.

How to Manifest Things Right Away!
“We like things to manifest right away, and they may not. Many times, we’re just planting a seed and we don’t know exactly how it’s going to come to fruition. It’s hard for us to realize that what we see in front of us might not be the end of the story.” — Sharon Salzberg

Get In Touch With Your Higher Power Today

Over many years and much inner seeking I came to the realization that God was not the old man on a throne looking down from heaven that I’d imagined as a child. Instead, I began to feel and experience God as a Universal Wisdom, Divine Love, and as an energy force that only wanted the best for me. I saw that all of the challenges I was experiencing in life were gifts that God put there to help me find my way “back home.”
I learned that when I talked to God, I received an answer. It wasn't a booming voice out of the clouds. He answered through the still, small voice of intuition. Each time I struggled with fear, anxiety, anger, or any of the minor and major upsets of life, I learned to ask for help. It was like a conversation with a good friend.
The answers came in a variety of ways. My problems were not usually “fixed” in the ways that I might have liked. Money did not pour out of the heavens, and so far no one has left me a million dollars in their will! Sometimes the answers would come in a fleeting thought. “Maybe I could try this….” On other occasions I might be drawn to a book that had the answers I was seeking. Many times the answer to my prayers was a boost in self-confidence when I most needed it.
Whether your concerns are about paying the rent this month, trying to find a job, dealing with a difficult relationship or struggling with a health crisis, the guidance you receive from prayer can be a balm for your soul. Let God know about whatever is on your mind. It doesn't need to be formal. It’s like a conversation with your best friend. Whatever is on your mind matters. Ask for help, for insight, for peace, for strength or whatever you most deeply desire. You always have access to this inner wisdom, although sometimes it takes practice and silence to learn to listen and understand. Prayer opens your mind to new opportunities. When you pray you are reaching for a Power that is bigger than you.

Wait! Wait! Don’t Rush!
We have so few occasions built into our contemporary lives where slowing down and reflecting occurs. Yet this is where restorative, spiritual change and inner guidance frequently takes place.

Find Your Rhythm
Like my client above, have you found yourself getting so caught up in your “to do” list that life feels out of control? Perhaps you’ve gotten so caught up in the frustrations of your career, making meals, driving your kids to their various after-school programs, struggling with life, that you forget to ask yourself, “Why am I doing all of this?” Perhaps you’re afraid to ask yourself that question. Dr. Richard D. Dobbins stated it this way, "Until the pain of remaining the same hurts more than the pain of change, most people prefer to remain the same."
Have you gotten so caught up in the busy-ness of your life that you neglect to give yourself permission for emotional, physical and spiritual renewal? It’s during those times that you remember what is meaningful. John Wanamaker wrote, “People who cannot find time for recreation are obliged sooner or later to find time for illness.” It’s much more pleasant to take the time to nurture yourself when you’re physically and emotionally healthy.
What’s Your Idea of a Peaceful Life?
When you constantly feel tired, cranky and out of sorts, your inner guidance is working over-time to catch your attention. It’s saying, “Warning! Your life is seriously out of balance!” Intuition is providing the course correction for you by cautioning that the path you’re on is leading to energy depletion. I’d like to give you permission to take a few moments to daydream. What are you yearning for? The answer to the question is an important one. It’s a message from your inner wisdom. Many people report that they’re yearning for peace, calm, a chance to rest.
Whatever your answer, think about one thing that you could do to allow this yearning a place to manifest. You can’t do it all. Let that be okay. You’re only human, along with the rest of us! Your task is to recognize when your life is out of balance and as quickly as possible to do what you can to nurture yourself and restore flow and ease. How long do you want to wait to start living "the good life?” Your Wise Inner Being will constantly point to the path that will lead you there.
When you take care of yourself and take time to do what you love, you are in balance. Feel and appreciate the fullness and richness of your life. Allow yourself time for prayer, reflection and meditation. It is the way to gain access to all the possible resources of healing guidance for your mind, body and spirit.

Let The Universe Help You — Part 3 of 3

Early Morning Intuition Exercise
Following your intuition does not have to be a time consuming process. Before you get out of bed each morning take one to two minutes to answer the following questions:
What do you want to do today that feels enjoyable and will move you toward your goal?
What new ideas about your goal or life direction have popped into your mind since yesterday?
What action steps are you willing to take today?
What thoughts or ideas came to you after practicing your affirmations and visualizations? (Described in part 2 of this blog.)
Many people find that they awaken with fresh thoughts and ideas. (For others it may be after a large mug of coffee!) If morning is a period of clarity for you, take advantage of the fact by paying attention to any intuition information that comes to you during that time.
Remember, the Universe is on your side and wants you to succeed!

Let The Universe Help You — Part 2 of 3
What Do You Really Want?
I'm going to ask you to try some things on pure faith. Try to put aside your natural inclination to make logical sense of this process. Here are the concepts:
There is a Divine Intelligence that wants you to succeed. It wants you to be happy about your life and living. It wants you to do the thing or things you're passionate about. That's part of your mission here on Earth. It doesn't matter what that mission is, whether it's being a good mother or father, a great dancer, a loving friend, a whiz at accounting, an awe-inspiring athlete or a profound philosopher. This Intelligence wants you to succeed and will do whatever it can to assist you.
Take time each day to visualize and affirm your goal. In this way you add power to the vibrational energy that will attract your goal. Your feelings and emotions are an important part of this process. What does it feel like to have what you want? Use the power of your emotions as you visualize.
You will need to work diligently at keeping your focus off what you don't want and maintain the focus on your goal. Learn to re-direct your thoughts. When you notice yourself dwelling on pessimistic or negative thoughts, shift your focus to what you want.
The Small Step Approach
Each day take at least one step toward what you're excited about. This might mean taking a class, going to an informational interview, taking a swim, joining a club or association, writing an article, spending time in nature, making a call, researching your interest, sending an e-mail. Your excitement is a message from your intuition about the next step to take. Whatever it is -- do it!
Your goal should be to enjoy this process. Do things each day that are fun, light, and joyful. (I’m writing this blog while sitting on my front porch on a lovely summer day.) Learn to be grateful for all that you've created. As you move towards your desired outcome, you'll find new objectives emerging. That's fine and as it should be. Remember to have fun!
Let me know what you come up with. I love reading your comments!

Let The Universe Help You, Part 1 of 3
Does this sound like you?
One of the biggest challenges facing many of my clients is that they talk themselves out of their hopes and dreams before they even begin. They do this because they can't figure out how to get to where they want to go. I'd like to propose a radical alternative. I don't want you to try to figure out how to reach your goal. Let the Universe help you.
Here's my theory -- when you hold a strong desire or goal you send out a vibrational energy that the Universe wants to match. In other words, it wants to help you meet your goal. Your job is to be clear about what you want, to keep your focus off what you don't want, and to take small steps each day based on what you feel excited about. That excitement is your intuition communicating with you. I also want you to visualize, affirm, feel and imagine your successful outcome.
My message to Leslie?
If something is in your heart that you feel excited about, you, (with the help of the Universe,) have the means to achieve it.
The Universe knows how to make your dream happen. Think of it as a kind of Divine Intelligence that has the necessary skills to bring together the exact set of circumstances you need to make your goals a reality. All the logic and intelligence you can muster may not be able to pave the way to this ultimate goal of yours as easily as the Universe can. Let Divine Intelligence do its job and orchestrate all the synchronicities, coincidences and circumstances that need to occur for you to create a life you love.
In part 2 of 3, I’ll tell you more about how to align with the Universe to help you achieve your goals.

Soaring to Prosperity
However, a few weeks ago I was uncharacteristically in a funk for several days. I became aware that I was thinking very negatively about some recent financial issues in my business as well as about an upcoming move my husband and I are making. As I began to more specifically tune in to my thinking process, I heard a different inner voice. It’s the voice I connect with my intuition. I heard, “Lynn, you need to soar.”
That didn’t make any sense to me other than being a nice little saying. I dismissed it. Of all people, I should know better than to do that with intuitive messages. My only excuse was that I was caught up in negative thinking! I often find that when you ignore a true piece of inner guidance, it comes back in a louder, or possibly different, form. I call these “intuitive nudges.” I was definitely getting “nudged” by the phrase, “You need to soar.” I finally sat down to meditate and tried to clear my mind. Remember that intuition often presents itself as a symbolic image or picture.
When I finally allowed myself to get into a state of receptivity I saw a little sign in my mind’s eye. It said, SOAR… Stop — Observe — Appreciate — Receive.
Over the course of the next few days, bits and pieces of a powerful prosperity technique began to form in my mind. Here’s what I learned:
Stop
The first step in breaking any habit is to be aware that you’re doing it. Catch yourself in the act of your scarcity-thinking pattern. What do you consistently say to yourself? Here are some common ones that I hear from clients. “I can’t afford it.” “I’ll never get ahead.” “I’m stuck in this low paying job.” “I don’t know how I’ll manage to pay the bills this month.” “I feel like I live on the edge all the time.” Or simply, “I’m SO stressed!” Sometimes we get so invested in our negative thinking that these things may appear true. The pessimistic thoughts can block out more positive, intuitive and creative ideas that could allow us to pursue a new course of direction. In this “stop” phase, ask yourself, “Are these thoughts the ones I want to create in my life?” My guess is that they’re not. So the first prosperity key is to Stop making them!
Observe
Simply observe the comments you’ve been making. Don’t beat yourself up about these thoughts. Examine the nature of the negative thoughts. Is there an underlying theme that you observe? This could be a belief in your lack of self worth, a concern about your money or time management skills, or a chronic pessimistic approach to life in general and money in particular. Be gentle and kind during this stage. If you heard a loved one saying the self-defeating words listed in the “Stop” section, you’d probably want to rush in and provide some comfort and encouragement. Don’t put a lot of time, energy and focus on why you have these beliefs. Simply ask yourself, “Are these statements something I want to continue creating in my life?” The answer, most likely, is “no.”
Appreciate
You’re aware of the negative thoughts, you’ve managed to stop them and you’ve paid attention to their content with gentle observation. The key now is to shift your focus off what you don’t want and put it onto an idea or thought that feels good. Research shows over and over again that gratitude and appreciation create abundance. Motivational speaker Tony Robbins says it best. "When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.” If you look, you’ll find many things to be appreciative about in your current life. They don’t need to be about money, prosperity or anything about your current financial status. Here are some examples from my own life today. My neighbor stopped by with freshly made cookies. It’s really nice to have people that are so thoughtful in my life. I took a break from writing this afternoon and enjoyed a long walk around some gardens a few minutes drive from my house. My son dropped by for dinner and I appreciate what a great guy he is. My husband made a cup of tea for me and brought it up to my office. It made me feel cared for. The intention of the Appreciation phase is to help you shift your thoughts and feelings away from “poor me” and towards gratitude. The change in focus assists you in becoming a vibrational match to what you want to create in your life. That is, more ease, money, joy and peace.
Receive
Here’s the tricky part. “Receive” doesn’t mean that having completed the “S-O-A” part of SOAR that money will now magically appear in your wallet or show up in your bank account. Rather it’s an attitude of reception. It’s an opening up to the abundance that is God within you and the Wisdom that fills the universe. It’s a mind-set of releasing fear and allowing faith. When I shift into “Receive” mode I take a deep breath and in my mind’s eye envision my arms outspread to receive. I feel my heart open, my breathing calm, and a sense of peace come over me. Then I know, deep down, that I’m safe. I have enough right now, today. Everything is okay. I trust in a power greater than myself to provide me with all that I need in order to do the work that I am here to do.
