Motivational Mondays: Gratitude

"Gratitude helps you grow and expand; gratitude brings joy and laughter into your lives and into the lives of all those around you." -Eileen Caddy, The Dawn Of Change

I am grateful for:

1. New friends and old and the unique gifts each person brings my life.

2. My family, my husband, me babies. For all the laughter they bring me.

3. Technology. Laptops, e-readers, modern plumbing, especially when they have uncommon uses like propping a drunk girl up.

4. My dreams. Even when they aren't coming...

P.P.I.F.: The Little Things

All the little things add up. If it takes 21 exposures for us to remember a name or a product, for an author, particularly a new one, every little mention helps.

Today, I saw Touched By An Alien by Gini Koch at the library! Like a good little stalker, I pulled it out and put if face out, angling the carousel for good public viewing.

Also, I fanned her at Goodreads, one of my favorite places to scope out a new author and share what I'm reading and what I think about it.

I am hoping that with all ...

The Shaman's Quest Author Norman W. Wilson, Ph.D.

I'm pleased to welcome my fellow 1st Turning Point columnist Norman W. Wilson, Ph.D. today!

AS: Norman,  congratulations. Your novel, The Shaman's Quest, will release soon. Will this be book four in the series hero's journey? Since Adam's journey spans six novels, what would you say each book's theme is?

First, let me say, thank you for inviting me for this interview. I am delighted.

Actually this is a rewrite of my first novel. Over 40,000 words have been added to bring in new content and new c...

A Day Down Under: Suzanne Brandyn

AS: Ready for some fun Australian style, folks? Awesome! I'm super excited to have you by my blog today, Suzanne. Welcome.

SB: Hi Amber, thank you for having me.

AS: The photos on your website show how gorgeous Australia is. With rugged seaside cliffs and clear, blue ocean waters only minutes away, do you ever find moments where you can't get inspired to write?

SB:  I have to admit there was a time, a few weeks ago, I suffered writers block. For one week, I wandered around down in the dumps...

Motivational Mondays: Simplify

Whether you think you can, or think you can't, either way, you're right. Right?

Attitude is the first step in creating results. I'm all about the power of positive thinking. But sometimes, I think of this saying and it just makes me want to roll my eyes. I think I can, I think I can just isn't enough! I need action. I need direction. Give me some tools and show me how to use them!

When I'm faced with a problem, particularly a plot problem, I dive in with a can do attitude and attack, adding...

P.P.I.F.: Super Fast!

In case you missed the comment last week, I thought I'd share what Mandy, recipient of Gini Koch's Touched By An Alien #1 launch, had to say:

"I got my book weeks ago and read it in about a week (thats good time for a mamma who reads as fast as she can in the minutes between putting the kids to sleep and the fall of her own heavy lids!) :)

I thought it was a fun read! It was my first time reading book about aliens :) I could definately see this being a series!

I am sorry to report that I do not ...

All The Good Men…Here!

AS:  Special welcome and thanks to Cindy Jacks today, who's dealt with my technical difficulties with huge patience. Thank you, Cindy and welcome. Let's jump in. You have several works in progress as well as an alter ego, CJ Elliott. What do you think it is about this diversity that satisfies your muse, Brighid?

CJ: In general, I'm the kind of person who always has to try something new to keep myself entertained. I've tried everything from scuba diving to Tango lessons so I think that impulse ...

Hump Day Updates: Love Lust

The news I'm most proud of this week is about Love Lust. As you may have read last week at The Book Boost, I recently dealt with my muse, Milla, insisting I explore a character and premise despite what I thought was terribly inconvenient timing.

You see, I've been in final polish mode for Fierce Dawn since Sourcebooks is expecting it in full. I'm also wrapping up D-Word, my screenplay draft. Stopping everything just to toy with an idea that's lingered around for a couple years now, sounded...
