Motivational Mondays: Why OH Why!?
On my Facebook page, if you scroll down, you'll find my favorite Flair button. It's a cat, yowling "Why?!"
All weekend, a part of me has been yowling that same question. Why? Because I received another rejection to line my locker. I know it's only one. I know I can submit elsewhere, and I did, post haste. Still, the question nags. Why, oh why, am I doing this to myself? So, I'm going to apply one of the activities of my and Ann Charles' workshop "Diapers To Deadlines: Find Time to Write–No...

P.P.I.F.: Candidates?
I thought I'd be able to announce the next debut author I'll be including in Project Pay It Forward. I was wrong. Sorry!
I need a few more candidates. So, if you've read an amazing book recently, from a new author, will you post the title as a comment or email me at amberscottbooks@gmail.com with ideas?
I want a good pool to choose from. Also, I want to tailor how I P.P.I.F. each book so I need a few more days to brainstorm.
On a side note, I have an idea brewing about donating some time and...

Hump Day Updates:
While I already shared my biggest, latest news last Friday, I must gush again! Larkspur at Long and Short Reviews gave Play Fling a 5 Book Review! She said some amazing things about it, too, such as, "Her dialogue excites and informs us as we keep turning pages to find out what happens next." For more, click here!
Not only is it available in print on Amazon.com but on BN.com, too! Yay!
I should hear back from the publisher this week about Love Lust and I am thrilled to report Fierce Dawn is...

Motivational Mondays: A Good Slap!
"The next time you worry your brain about whether you can write, slap yourself hard. Everyone can write. Your worry should be whether you are brave enough to vanish into the depths of your neuronal circuitry and come back with creations. You are a diver, not a writer; an explorer, not a writer; an inventor, not a writer; a magician, not a writer." -Eric Maisel, Ph.D., A Writer's Space
Exactly.
Now, let's ice those black eyes, print this baby out and go make some beautiful–or hideous–magic...

P.P.I.F.: Next?
It's true. Not all of us are commenters, reviewers, or shout it out types. Many of us prefer to lurk and support our authors with quiet authority. So, some of my ideas on how to support your favorite author may not be all that appealing.
So, I'm brainstorming.
Obviously, the best way to support your favorite author is to buy the next book. But, did you know that the first month of sales hugely impacts an author's ranking on bestseller lists and boosts them in the eyes of their publisher? Also, ...

Dear Charles: Milla Lashes Out
Listen, Chucky. You haven't begun to see bullying, okay? And just so you know, I wear my jeans ripped because I like them that way, not because some New York fashion flopsy told me to. That nice tear along the ass you keep puckering up over? That one's to show off what mama gave me.
Now. About Amber and what she 'should' and 'should not' write. Charels, she's a free agent. Literally. She has no strict publisher or pushy agent telling her what or where or why to write. If she wants to try a...

Dear Amber: Charles Speaks Out
Please know how much I appreciate your recent accomplishments. A 4 cup Coffee Time Romance review, a 5 book Long and Short Reviews rating for Play Fling, now in PRINT. Spectacular!
Two manuscripts with editors and agents, one with a stunning new prologue. Excellent!
I know it goes without saying how heavy a hand I had in these milestones. And so, I implore you, get your muse under control!
Milla is running rampant and I simply cannot tolerate any more of what equates to schoolyard bullying...

Motivational Mondays: Bunnies and Wolves
On one of many, many of my unsuccessful teenaged egging missions, as the lights went on in a house and a man stepped out yelling, my friend Michelle, froze behind a tire. Like a bunny in the woods.
There are actually three responses to fear. There's fight, flight and there's freeze. The little white bunny vulnerable out in a sun glittered snowdrift senses the wolf. What of the three does she choose to do?
When you sense the beast you fear approaching, what do you typically do?
Well, it depends o...

P.P.I.F.: I'm Late!
"I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!"
But, I have two very good reasons.
[image error]1. I just got word that Play Fling got a five book review at LASR AND is up for their reader poll!!!!!!!! Check it out here: http://www.longandshortreviews.com/LASR/recentrev.htm
2. The handing offs are happening but nary a peep from the new readers. I am assuming they are too engrossed to put down Touched By An Alien by Gini Koch, the object of my P.P.I.F. affection.
But, I do have more ideas on how to pay...

Hump Day Updates: Kismet or Karma?
Rather than obtain an order of protection on me, my new favorite author, who I love to stalk, the object of my Project Pay It Forward affection, Gini Koch (Touched By An Alien, Alien Tango) has interviewed me for her blog!!!!!!!!!!
The interview will appear Monday, June 21st at http://ginikoch.blogspot.com/.
One of the mantras Gini likes to live by is WWBMD? What would Bob Mayer do, when it comes to the craft of writing. He co-writes sometimes with Jennifer Crusie, whose book Bet Me inspired...
