Kele Moon & Beyond Eden Today!
Today, we're going Beyond Eden with author Kele Moon. Let's tip toe right in!
Amber: First, congratulations on your Best Book rating from Whipped Cream! On your blog, you compared sending Beyond Eden to Ellora's Cave to sending your first born off to Kindergarten. What did you do to celebrate and survive this milestone?
Kele: Not much. I was very pregnant when I sent in Beyond Eden for submission. But, on release day my husband threw a big surprise release party and it was fantastic! We had a ...

Motivational Mondays: Needs, Haves, Wants
"I need to fold the laundry and put it away." "I have to get my word count up!" "I have to remember to take dinner out of the freezer to thaw." "I need to get that submission off."
When I say these things to myself, what I really mean is: "If I don't fold the laundry and put it away, we'll be living out of a basket for the next week and I'll go bananas." "If I don't get my word count up, I'll feel awful and scared that I won't have another creation to get to the world in a nice timely...

P.P.I.F.: Great Taste Made Easy
I know it isn't modest to say it, but damn, I have great taste. Especially when it comes to what authors I stalk. Here is some of their latest news:
Touched By An Alien author Gini Koch just gave her Alien Collective some amazing swag prizes from her recent Coppercon trip where she was on a panel, talking about the much anticipated second in the series, Alien Tango (pre-order NOW!). I am still pinching myself that I won one of her bundles of goodies.
Mind Games author Carolyn Crane's second in ...

Hump Day Updates
Happy Wednesday everyone!
First let me clear up a torrid rumor. NO, unfortunately, Adrian Grenier has not stolen me from my husband, sweeping me off my feet and off to a tropical island.
Second, yesterday, I smelled sheep. No, really! I was at www.ISmellSheep.blogspot.com where Katie and Amber (fab name) interviewed me. If you comment, you are entered to win a signed copy of Smashwords Bestseller Play Fling! Go now! Say hi! Tell us who your favorite sexy nerd of all time is!
Third, "From Duh...

Motivational Monday: Distance
"Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen." -Da Vinci
My 'work' is my writing. It is the story I'm immersed in at the moment. It is the step I've climbed up to on my career ladder. I long for success.
A key element of the Law of Attraction is detachment. ...

P.P.I.F.: Julia Quinn
I try to read widely across the many sub-genres of romance but when a rainy day is tapping on my windows, I love, love, love to curl up with a Julia Quinn novel. The Bridgerton series is my favorite and among them, When He Was Wicked will always top that list.
I'm a sucker for impossible love, unrequited love and this one encompasses both. The hero, Michael, falls in love at first sight with his cousin's wife, then fiance, and because he loves his cousin like a brother, he chooses to keep his ...

Hump Day Updates: Zombies and More!
The kids are screaming and I am, too. But, for me, it is because I am way, way stoked.
First, at www.1stTurningPoint.com, my interview with the innovative creator of www.Fetidus.org is up! And it is my first podcast interview, too. You can read it there or hear it here. Awesome!
Second, at www.PlotMamas.com, my first author 'play date' with Grace Meadows of Decadent Publishing is up and we are taking a favorite reality TV poll. Sweet!
Third, I don't have the details yet but am SO excited to...

Motivational Mondays: Life Happens
I don't know about you, but particularly when it comes to my writing goals, I'm extra hard on myself. If I don' t hit my word count, or revision minutes or more, I kick my own ass. On those swimming upstream days, I immediately look at my inner motivations and ask myself, am I avoiding _______? Is fear ruling my day and interrupting ________? What is not getting _______ done doing for me?
Many times, all it takes for me to get back on track is a little analysis and finding that inner balance a...

P.P.I.F: More Maggie…Because I Stalk!
Shiver instantly hooked me on Maggie Stiefvater. The hero, Sam, is real to me. He makes me miss being seventeen and in love with someone I cannot have, then get to have for the briefest time. I could tell you the exact color of Sam's eyes, the exact way the candy store he takes Grace to smells.
So, like a good stalker, I immediately went to my trusty online bookstore and bought Lament, Ballad and pre-ordered (then) Linger (out now). I joined her Facebook group and go to her blog and she even r...
