Escape
Torturedby the husking fruitless
Dailycrush of energy marauders
Vexing,ever vexing and
Flexingbrawny sinuous flesh,
Flauntingfaux powers in feckless faces.
Pitythe fools.
Iclose my eyes,
Lowermy expectations and
Waitfor sweet dreams
Toinvade my property.
Ofttimes comes easy,
Approachingangelic.
Thebully backs down
Lookingelsewhere for folly.
Prisonbars soften and the gates open wide
Asvelveteen breezes offer their wings
Leavingme free to escape to Nirvana
Wherehoney flows free
Androses e’er bloom,
Andthoughts are but whispers
Bornon the wind.
Iwill linger here a while to
Followthe dream,
Seizethe ring.
Nomisgivings for time well spent.

Wishes and Dreams
I had a dream
That spurred a wish
That led to a thought
That inspired a plan
That created an outline
That became a blueprint
For a brand new project
Fraught with obstacles
Resolved through tenacity
Then brought to fruition
With a sense ofaccomplishment,
A shining example
Presented to others
Who also
Have a dream.

Where Dreams Sleep
Rest in silence, SweetDream Maker.
There is much for youtomorrow.
Sleep until your name iscalled
And you can rise renewed,refreshed.
Visions visit in thedarkness,
Become clear with lightof day,
Seek fruition once yourpassion
Fills the mind withclarity.
It is you who holds thespark,
Quick the human breastinspires
With vapory wisdom,reaching deep
To grasp at fleetingfantasy.
If only I could find yourlair,
Touch your secrets, darkand deep,
What untold wisdom couldbe found
To know the chamber whereyou sleep.

…Perhaps To Dream
Do I want?
Will I go?
Could it be?
Might I know?
In my sleep,
In my mind
Thoughts abandon
Fleeting time.
Rounding corners
To arrive in
Places where
Sweet hope survives.
Softly sliding
Into slumber
Where no fearful
Giants lumber.
Lying by her
Gentle stream
In solitude…
Perhaps to dream.

Hope
Lighterthan freedom on feathery ferns
Dancingon tiptoes in bright balmy breezes,
Higherthan hilltops on heavenly highways,
Hermountains, her valleys
Bothfilled with delight.
Bidme go forward,
Offerme comfort,
Fillme with confidence
ElseI should stumble.
Liftup the veil,
Placea kiss on my forehead
Makingme blush…
Keepingme humble.
Youngerthan springtime,
Olderthan winter,
Longerthan always and
Sweeterthan wine,
Hopefloods my heart with
Thelaughter of sunshine
Leavingall doubt,
Everysorrow behind.

Another Day
Gentlewishes…
Sweetair kisses…
Schemesand dreams and
Pony-tailswishes…
Air-brushedmemories,
Sodelicious,
Dareto take my breath away.
Tablescapes of
Comfortdishes
Floodthe senses
Withdelicious
Sweetsensations,
Boldtemptations,
Beggingme come out to play.
Outof scope…
Filledwith hope…
Danglingcarrot from a rope,
Tryingdesperately to cope with
Trialsthat try to block my way.
Knowingthat the prize awaits,
Evenwhen I tempt the fates,
Isee beyond the garden gates
Therelies another day.

It’s Time
Nomore watching
Nomore wondering
Nomore sad mistakes and blundering.
It’stime.
Thework may never be complete
Wrappedin ribbon nice and neat
Alllaid out at Fortune’s feet but
It’stime.
Timeto end procrastination
Timeto forego reservation
Nomore thought or hesitation.
Letit go
It’stime.
Dreamsare whispers in the wind
Somewhereup around the bend
Waitinglike a trusted friend
It’stime.
Timeto question
Timeto be
Timeto let the whole world see
It’stime.

To The Children of Saint Jude’s
Allyou ever have to do is look into those eyes
Anda million inspirations flood your soul.
Allthe hope and wide-eyed wisdom
Reflectedin a smile
Ofa child whose fate is destined to unfold.
Andyou see behind the curtain
Allthe pain that is denied
Asthey suffer to find hope and hold on tight.
Anotherday is another gift,
Anotherbattle to be won
Totake away the darkness from their light.
Surroundedby the ones they love
Andones who come to love them,
Givenevery hope there is to give.
Nofalse expectations,
Knowingall the odds,
Theyonly seek the opportunity to live.
Andmany here will overcome
Thedemons that have plagued them
Andleave to grow and fill their hearts desire.
Andthose who fought the valiant fight
Andlost their final battle
Areheroes in the hope that they inspire.

An American Dream
Iwake up every morning, rub my eyes and ponder
Onthe wonders that the day may hold in store.
Knowingthat the truth is there to stare back in my mirror
Andthe challenges that wait for me just outside my door.
Robinswatch me drive away to capture new adventures
Justbefore the sunrise trickles in
Tochase the moonlight’s beams,
AndAmerica comes back to life
Withbanners raised and hope revived
Andskies unfold as multitudes go looking for their dreams.
It’san American dream
Whereevery wish can come true
Andthe weak can be strong,
Youcan right any wrong
Andyour faith can shine through.
AnAmerican song that is just as it seems.
It’sa song filled with hope,
Asong filled with joy
AndAmerican Dreams.
Heavenloves an optimist,
Andglory waits for those
Whobuild their hopes and dreams on faith and peace and love.
Ibelieve with every breath that this great land is over-blessed
Withthose who get their guidance from
Apower up above.
It’san American dream….

If Heaven’s Not Out There
I’mnot really sure that Heaven exists
Inthe way that you hear it described,
Streetspaved with gold,
Pearlygates open,
Anda book where my name is inscribed.
Billionsof angels in white robes and wings
Lookingdown at the people below
Fromtheir place in the clouds
Wherelife is forever
Ina house where God cares for each soul.
Butif Heaven’s not out there,
Thenwhy am I here?
Hegives me hope to live in His light
Andto die without fear.
I’mtaking my chances.
Myfaith will be strong.
‘Causeif Heaven’s not out there,
Theneverything’s wrong.
WhenI was a child I studied His book
Andbelieved everything that I read,
Listenedon Sundays to teachers and preachers,
Soakedup the words that they said.
Tastedof life, lived through temptation,
Nowthat my race is near run,
Ihave to believe that the time’s getting closer
Tocapture the prize that I’ve won.
Butif Heaven’s not out there….
