Autumn

Autumnand I are fast frequent friends

Withmemories mixed with the colors of rainbows.

We’veweathered the storms,

Survivedthe transitions,

Sharingthe anguish and bliss on the way.

Manya time have I witnessed her change,

Thespinning of lush fervent green into gold,

Thetransfer from swelter to fresh fragrant foliage,

Thecrisp, clear allure her aura endows.

Whoholds her miracle?

Whomight explain

Howthe muse of the seasons so often inspire?

Istand in awe clinging fast to her bosom

Prayingthis slow dance might go on forever.

Heavenbut knows how many more seasons

Awaitdown the road before fate seals my end,

ButAutumn and I will go on forever,

Hereand hereafter,

Mysteadfast friend.

Filled To Overflowing

Peoplealways talk about

Acup half full

Acup half empty

 I’m too busy dealing with

Acup that’s filled to overflowing.

Heftymeasures

Greatand small

Thatweigh into the overall

Decisionsto be battered round,

Whichdirection to be going.

Tossedinto the everyday,

Themix and mesh is simple play

AndI can deal and get away

Withoutthe devil even knowing.

Toocontent with happiness,

Sointent, a simple guest,

Alwayslooking for the best

Mysoul just keeps on growing.

New Beginnings

Fortunerises from the depths where

Darknessonce caressed my soul,

Liftedout from marbled crypt to

Flyon wings of feathered light

Withhope rekindled,

Faithrenewed

Iseek horizons in the distance.

Forestsfall as roads unfold to

Windtheir way in new directions.

Nolonger shall the demons haunt

Norslackers taunt to block my view.

Blessedto know the up-ahead

Holdsno resemblance to the past.

Stridingbold into the sunset

Wheretomorrow is today.

Everyday a new beginning

Offeredon a silver tray.

Are You Happy?

Doyou wake up every morning

Lookingforward to the day?

Areyou happy?

Doesthe smell of coffee brewing

Puta faint and hopeful grin upon your face?

Arethe dreams that you dreamed yesterday

Stillliving in your heart

Likea sweet desire that cannot be replaced?

Thereare questions to be answered

Andtasks to be completed in the offing.

Prioritiesto order

Andpeople to be greeted on the way.

Butthis grownup world you’re living in

Shouldn’tkill the child who dwells within your body,

Andyou owe it to yourself to always

Setaside some time to simply play.

SoI ask again, quite honestly.

It’sa simple question,

Really…

Areyou happy?

Oxygen

Can’tsee it,

ButI know when it’s there,

Knowwhen it’s being denied to my lungs.

Can’ttaste it,

Thoughsome may insist that they

Knowit exists at the tip of their tongue.

Can’tfeel it

Exceptfor the breeze as it

Brushesmy cheek with a warmth or a chill.

Can’tkeep it.

Mustgive it back once its sustenance ends

Andits mission fulfills.

Blessedgiver…

     Warden of life…

          Imperceptible stream.

ThoughI’ve never seen you,

     I know you are there

          Upholding my dream.

Positives

Mamaalways taught me that

There’sgood in everyone,

ThatI should seek the positive

Andoverlook the rest.

Mustadmit, sometimes you have to

Lookreal deep to find it.

Somepeople give the microscope

Agrueling, daunting test.

Butif you seek, and seek you must,

Anddwell on positives,

Youjust might find that

Life’smore kind

Asyou ponder your quest.

Isit worth the effort

Toseek people at their best?

Ibelieve that it’s the key

Tolife’s true happiness.

Sometimes Wonder

Sometimeswonder

     As I wander aimlessly

          From think to thought,

Pickingpieces

     Of the puzzle

          Looking for the perfect fit.

Doesit matter

     If the meter runs completely

          Down to naught?

Consequences

     Consequently run the

          Entire alphabet.

Tiresometo be contemplating,

     Worried what

          The world might see.

Wholesometo be

     Born in wisdom,

Knowing what will be will be.

Fantasy / Ecstasy

Featheryfingers gently touching

Softon alabaster skin,

Titillatingtender ripples

Upand down a supple spine.

Sweetcaress along each breast,

Lightlytouching,

Movingon

Fillyour sensuous universe,

Quenchthe thirst of your desire.

Passionbuilding… ever building

Tilyou reach your pleasure peak,

Raiseyou to the summit of

Euphoriaand back again.

Onlythen I think of self,

Onlygive til you are sated

Knowingyou will grant ten-fold

WhenI become recipient.

New Day

Anew day

     New time

          New era dawning,

Newplans and challenges

     Seem to abound.

Oldfriends estrange

     As priorities change

Whilelives rearrange and

     New friendships are found.

Newblazed directions

     Discover affections

          So many selections

Tobatter about.

AndI in my wisdom

     Will brave criticism

Tochoose from among them

          And count them all down.

Forwardprojecting,

     Backward protecting,

          Ever correcting to

               Sight and to sound.

Laughingand weeping,

     Time crawling or creeping,

          Constantly keeping

               My feet on the ground.

Silly Giggles

Nostalgicfor the good old days

Oflife’s simplistic interludes,

Whendreams were fresh as lavender

Assunlight burns the morning dew.

Sillygiggles way back then

Wereall the sport we ever sought,

Noresponsibilities could

Trumpthe task of levity.

Andweren’t we happy with our lot?

Timeand trial our last concerns.

Foresightwas for other fools

Todole and dither fitfully.

Sadto lose the youthful verve

Thatspawned so many memories, but

Timecan be a spiteful mistress

Ifallowed to have her way.

Nowin twilight do I find

Thesubtle nuance of her gift.

Thelooking back rekindles joy that

Sillygiggles gave us then.
