You’ll Never Know
Comes a time in everylife
You’re standing at acrossroads
And you just can’t decidewhich way to go.
Do you turn right?
Should you go left or
Just go straight ahead?
Do you walk alone
Or just go with the flow?
I’ve heard it said thebrave die young
To make their way toHeaven,
And I’d surely like tolive beyond my prime.
But if I must make thesacrifice,
Then it’s just a given,and
I’ll have to give it upbefore my time.
Are you afraid to take astand
And be the only one?
Would you dare to spreadyour wings
And fly into the sun?
Happiness is standing close,
It’s just a smile away.
You can turn away orstand and watch it grow.
Do you turn right?
Do you turn left or
Just go straight ahead?
Unless you make a choiceyou’ll never know.

I’ll Get There Someday
Many pathways I havedreamed
Of traveling in my brieftime,
Far too many distantplaces,
So much on a bucket list.
The distance between hereand Heaven
Not so great as one mightthink.
Perhaps just a dreamaway,
A silent stroll into themist.
Longings are buttoothless phantoms,
Fearsome shadows void offlesh,
Victims of reality
That comes to chase thedream away.
Persistence and tenacity,
Like Superman and CaptainMarvel
Arriving in the nick oftime.
… I’ll get there someday.

Dreamers
Microscopic snapshots of
What might have been,
Could someday be.
Whimsy’s kite of fancy
Lightly fluttering oneagle wings,
Looking down as I look up
So desperate to keepcontrol.
Time stands still asdreams unwind
To endless possibilities.
Let me follow where youlead.
Let me rise above theclouds
To go,
To seek beyond horizons
Past the stars andgalaxies,
Passing gates andboundaries
To find Nirvana’s honeywell.
Knowing that when I awake
It will be so…
It will be so.

There Will be More
So,you think this is it,
Thisis the end.
Maybehave to go back
Andstart over again.
Well, all I can tell you is
Therewill be more.
Thefountain still runs,
Thewater’s still sweet,
AndI’ll bring you flowers
Thenext time we meet,
Andkisses await
Whenyou open the door.
Noone can know what lies up ahead,
Apromise unspoken, words left unsaid.
Youcan fill up an ocean,
Lookbehind every door.
Still,there will be more.
Sometimesit seems
Werun out of time.
Itgets too late
Forsweet talk and wine
Andwe get too weary
Tosee what’s in store.
There’sa new day tomorrow,
Anew chance to start,
Tochase all those dreams
Helddeep in your heart,
Andalways remember
Therewill be more.
Noone can know what lies up ahead,
Apromise unspoken, words left unsaid.
Youcan fill up an ocean,
Lookbehind every door.
Still,there will be more.

Best Friends
BobbyLee and me
Wegrew up together.
Wewere always the best of friends.
Sworeour kinship in blood,
Foughtthe world side by side
Neverthinking our friendship would end.
Taughtto love God and country;
Theywere worth fighting for.
So,we joined up together,
Headedoff to war.
Madethe best of all the worst times
Andfinally made it back home.
Butthrough it all,
Nomatter how hard the fall,
Ifwe needed someone to lean on
Weknew just who we could call,
Onewho’d be there til the end,
‘Causewe were best friends.
Carriedeach other through thick and thin.
Marchedall the way through Hell
Andmade it back again.
NowI have to carry him one last time
Andgo it alone.
Ashesto ashes, back to Mother Earth.
Prayingfor angels to kindle rebirth,
Lostin the memory
AsI carry him home.
Butthrough it all,
Nomatter how hard the fall,
Ifwe needed someone to lean on
Weknew just who we could call,
Onewho’d be there til the end,
‘Causewe were best friends.

Let’s Grow Old Together
Shesaid, “Darling, I’ve something to say.
Comesit next to me.”
Isat down with an anxious thought
Wonderingwhat this could be.
Expectationscame flooding in
Witha feeling akin to dread.
Butamazement soon took over
Atthe words that she said.
“Let’sgrow old together.
Let’stake a vow.
Letme hold your hand and walk by your side
Andshow them all how
Webelong to another world
Madefor lovers and friends
Wherethe fires continue to grow
Andlove never ends.”
Icouldn’t help but feel relieved
Anda little surprised.
So,I took her hand in mine
Andlooked into her eyes.
Isaid, “Baby, don’t you know?
That’sjust what I intend to do.
Gonnaspend my lifetime making
Sweetlove to you.”
Let’sgrow old together.
Let’stake a vow.
Letme hold your hand and walk by your side
Andshow them all how
Webelong to another world
Madefor lovers and friends
Wherethe fires continue to grow
Andlove never ends.

Horizons
Ialways check horizons
Tosee what lies ahead,
Tryinghard to be prepared
Justlike my Daddy said.
Youcan’t know the future
Butthe pathway can be clear.
Keepyour eyes on the horizon,
Facetomorrow without fear.
Youcan let your guard down,
Letyour worries take control,
Facethe day with blinders,
Letthe devil have your soul,
Oryou can make your mind up
Tocontrol your destiny.
Keepyour eyes on the horizon
Andset your spirit free.
Theremay be trouble up ahead,
Itseems to be that way.
Simpledoubts that block the sun
Andturn blue skies to gray.
ButI don’t worry ‘cause I know
Itwill work out in the end.
I’llkeep my eyes on the horizon
Likea trusted, faithful friend.
Youcan let your guard down,
Letyour worries take control,
Facethe day with blinders,
Letthe devil have your soul,
Oryou can make your mind up
Tocontrol your destiny.
Keepyour eyes on the horizon
Andset your spirit free.

Table for Two
I’dbeen dining so long at a table for one
Fromthe first signs of daylight til way past the setting sun.
Butmy heart opened wide the day I met you.
Nowthe rest of our lives we can dine at
Atable for two.
Smalltalk and wine
Andthe music so fine
Asthe lights fade to amber and blue.
Dessertwill taste sweeter.
Everything’sbetter
Ata table for two.
Wewere both standing and waiting alone in a crowd,
Silentlywondering, but never saying out loud.
Wetook a chance on each other and our friendship grew.
Nowwe’ll spend the rest of our lives
Ata table for two.
Smalltalk and wine
Andthe music so fine
Asthe lights fade to amber and blue.
Dessertwill taste sweeter.
Everything’sbetter
Ata table for two.
Madefor each other, the fates have been kind.
Ispend my days with nothing but you on my mind,
Cherishingevery moment that I spend with you.
Waitingto get back and share
Ourtable for two.
Smalltalk and wine
Andthe music so fine
Asthe lights fade to amber and blue.
Dessertwill taste sweeter.
Everything’sbetter
Ata table for two.

Waiting Around
I’vebeen waiting around for someone like you,
Someonewho can lift me up
Andmake me feel brand new.
Itmakes me thank the man above
Forthe love that I’ve found,
Letsme know that it’s all worthwhile
Waitingaround.
Youtravel many a circle looking for love,
Tryinghard to discover
Theone you’re dreaming of.
Youkiss some frogs, you kiss some fools,
Sometimesyou feel like a clown.
Soyou take all your wounded pride
Andkeep waiting around.
Blessingsfall to the one who patiently waits;
Theone who dares to take a chance
Andleaves it all to fate.
Whenthe one who was meant to be
Liftsyou up off the ground,
Givesyou joy that you never knew while you were
Waitingaround.

One Red Rose
Theysay sometimes less is more
Whenyou’re trying to express
Tothe one that you adore
Howshe brings you happiness.
Youreyes tell me there’s no need for words
Totell you how the feeling grows.
Asip of wine, a single kiss
Andone red rose.
Arose of passion,
Arose of trust,
Deepwith emotion
Witha touch of lust,
Filledwith secrets
Onlyyour heart knows.
Ican say it all
Withone red rose.
Iused to think that to win at love
Ihad to give you lavish gifts,
Expensivejewelry, fancy clothes
Meantto make your spirits lift.
NowI see it’s the simple things
Thatlet you know why my love grows,
Likethe words of a sweet love song
Andone red rose.
Arose of passion,
Arose of trust,
Deepwith emotion
Witha touch of lust,
Filledwith secrets
Onlyyour heart knows.
Ican say it all
Withone red rose.
