National Day of Prayer

Today (Thursday) in the USA is the National Day of Prayer. The staff of Answers in Genesis gathered earlier today for prayer, breaking into small groups at 8:30am, and then throughout the day, they will set aside 15 minutes of their work day to pray for the nation and the AiG ministry. The Creation Museum guests visiting today will also be given the opportunity to pray in a special area set aside that is away from the hustle and bustle of the museum.

Here is the prayer list we distributed to ...

Religion Professor Accuses AiG of Teaching a "False Gospel"

Dr. James F. McGrath is the associate professor of religion at Butler University (Indianapolis, Indiana ).  This university is home to the Clergy Letter Project founder,  Prof. Michael Zimmerman—an atheist who gets  pastors to sign a letter supporting evolution and organizes pastors to have a special "Evolution Sunday" in their churches. Among other courses, McGrath teaches a course on science fiction and religion, as well as religion and science.

In a recent blog, Dr. McGrath states:

What...

DVDs and Salvation

For the past two days I have been speaking in Tennessee.  On Sunday morning, I spoke at Red Bank Baptist Church (Chattanooga).  One man came and told me that when he was a non-Christian, someone showed him a number of our DVDs; he said the Lord used these to change his life and become an on-fire Christian.  I do hear many such testimonies from people out in the field when I am out speaking.  How we praise the Lord for the lives He changes through the AiG ministry.

I heard many other...

Electronic Billboards Reaching Thousands

A group of dedicated Christians in our Greater Cincinnati area has pooled resources to sponsor the "I Am Not Ashamed" billboards on an electronic billboard located on the heavily travelled Interstate 75 just south of Cincinnati (but in northern Kentucky at the 12 St. exit).  Thousands of people each day see these messages that quote verses of Scripture to deal with the issues we face in our culture today.

You can find out more about our "I Am Not Ashamed" billboard campaign from the a

International Training Seminar

In the boardroom and hallways of the Creation Museum of Answers in Genesis this week, you could have heard multiple languages being spoken. Arabic, Japanese, Tagalog, Portuguese, and a Visayan language from the Philippines were the languages spoken by our guests at the International Training Seminar we held Monday through Friday.

Answers Worldwide has sponsored and funded 14 international leaders to our third annual International Training Seminar. They have listened to over 16 hours of...

Ex-Cincinnati Reds Player's Radio Show

Frank Pastore was a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds about 30 years ago—until a major arm injury (his elbow was shattered when a batter hit a line-drive right back at him) shortened his career. He played just a few miles from AiG/Creation Museum. Today he hosts the highly successful Frank Pastore Radio Show in Los Angeles on KKLA (a large Christian radio station).

This past Wednesday, Frank interviewed me as well as took listeners' phone calls to ask me questions for an hour.  Frank also...

AiG Mentioned in U.S. Senate Debate

In a debate last week featuring four candidates for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate to represent Kentucky in Washington DC, the Answers in Genesis name came up! The four candidates, who will be voted on May 18th, were asked a variety of questions by the debate's moderator, including one on abortion. One nominee is the former superintendent of Public Instruction in the state, John Stephenson (that was back in the early '90s), and in his answer about abortion, he indicated that...

Michael Shermer on Dateline

Did you happen to watch NBC-TV's program Dateline on Sunday evening? The entire hour (called "What were you thinking?") was devoted to the topic of peer pressure. How there is a human tendency to "go with the crowd," even when your common sense might tell you otherwise; for example, there was a scene in the TV show where actors got in an elevator and turned their backs to the door, and then people not in on the experiment entered the elevator and also turned to face the back wall of the...

Answers in Genesis's October Tour of Israel Becoming Popular

Last year, AiG hosted its first trip to Israel, and over 60 people joined Carl Kerby and Mark Looy for a wonderful time of learning and fellowship. Many, many sites they visited are mentioned in the Bible.

With Carl and Mark, who have traveled to many countries around the globe, they found Israel to be one of the most tourist-accommodating of nations. The meals, hotels, and guides were all excellent in Israel, and the comments we got back from our 60-plus guests agreed with that assessment...

Media Covers Creation Museum's One-millionth Visitor

Mr. Joe Brown had never visited the Creation Museum (although his wife Malinda and son Joey had), so he didn't know what to expect when he walked through the museum doors yesterday—especially when I went up to greet him and his family.

I indicated that he was our one-millionth visitor to the museum (in less than 3 years). As I welcomed Mr. Brown, I gave him a basket of gifts that had been donated by various hotels and attractions in the area (coordinated through Cincinnati USA.com—for which...
