Authority of God's Word Is at Stake

A Tribute to a Godly Mom

More and more people in the church are beginning to understand that Answers in Genesis is not just about creation/evolution, the age of the earth, the six days of creation, etc.—but the emphasis of this ministry is the authority of God's Word and the gospel. As I have said so many times, the age of the earth and six days of creation aren't salvation issues, but they are authority issues—is the Bible the absolute authority of God's Word or is it not? And of course it ...

Reaching Public School Educators

Again this year, as we have done for many  years now, AiG has provided a team of staff and volunteers to work with a caucus at the largest conference of public school educators in the world (NEA—National Education Association) to reach them with the creation/gospel message.  Here is an excerpt from the first blog entry:

Well we have arrived and gotten everything set up for this years National Education Association Conference in New Orleans. This years team is made up of Tony and Christy...

Three Awards for AiG Videos

In an earlier blog post, I wrote about The Evolution of Darwin series by AiG that received two gold awards.  Below I have reprinted the press release that AiG sent out yesterday informing the media and others of three awards granted to AiG by the International Christian Visual Media group for videos produced by AiG.

2009 was dubbed "The Darwin Year" by many, as it was the year of the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the Origin of the Species book.  AiG...

Quickly Over Millions of Years

Areas of Eastern Washington State and the Columbia River Gorge were once explained as a result of slow processes over millions of years.  However, secular scientists have now come to realize that massive, catastrophic processes were involved.  Creationists have done a lot of research to show that the breaking of an ice dam at the end of the ice age (which was generated by the Flood of Noah's day) caused a massive post-Flood event called the Missoula Flood.  Secular scientists, who don't...

Meeting "Johnnys" and "Marys"

At the AiG conference in Washington, when discussing the problem of young people who leave the church (two thirds by college age based on the Already Gone research), I refer to them as "Johnnys and Marys." I also say that if Johnny and Mary are brought up to stand on the authority of God's Word from a young age—taught how to defend their faith and answer the questions of the age—then this can make an enormous difference in their life. I say that Johnny and Mary are much more likely to stay ...

Award Winning Videos

I am currently in Vancouver, Washington, for an AiG conference at Crossroads Community Church, and as part of this conference, we have brought our talented video crew out to video all the sessions I am presenting at over the three days.  The current video set with a series of presentations of mine was filmed a number of years ago—when I still had brown hair!  As more and more people have been asking me if it is my son in that series, we all determined it was time for me to be recorded on...

Meyer—The Memory Man!

Tom Meyer is a ministry friend who lives as a student in Jerusalem , but travels on occasion to the U.S. (where he's originally from). He visited the Creation Museum last year, and this past week he was back. We had him speak to our staff during two chapel sessions and also five times to our museum guests—he recited Genesis chapter 1-11 from memory in front of our visitors! For our staff Thursday morning, he spoke a few chapters from the Book of Revelation—when an AiG tour group h...

NFL Pro Bowler/Super Bowl Winner at the Museum

No, he did not have his Super Bowl ring on him when he visited the Creation Museum a few days ago, but Jay Schroeder's tour of the museum with his wife Debbie (and their young daughter) was a blessing to many of our staff who met him (I was away in St. Louis speaking at a conference).

Not only was Jay an all-star football player (what's called a "Pro Bowler") and was on a Washington Redskins team that won the Super Bowl in the 1980s, he is now best-known for his Christian testimony (through...

Salvation in Atlanta

Over the last four weeks, Answers in Genesis has had the great privilege of presenting the Seven C's of History at First Baptist Atlanta (Dr. Charles Stanley's church).  Dr. Terry Mortenson presented the first four C's being Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, and Confusion, while my brother Stephen (AiG's Senior Director of Outreach) finished with the last three C's of Christ, Cross, and Consummation.

Both Steve and Terry were overwhelmed with the response from First Baptist...

Even a Four-Year-Old

I just wanted to say thanks.  We totally enjoyed our time at the Creation Museum and all in the group were so impressed with the quality of the exhibits and the clarity of the gospel throughout.

Rick and I were so pleased to finally get to use our passes and see the museum for ourselves.  We came home saying that our investment 3-4 years ago is probably one the best investments we've ever made!  While our 2 year old didn't get much out of it (though he had a good time!), our 4 year old has...
