Debate of the Ages

Recently, AiG's astrophysicist, Dr. Jason Lisle,  participated in an informal radio debate (on KKLA in southern California) with progressive  creationist Dr. Hugh Ross.

Dr. Lisle has written an extensive blog item on this informal debate (dubbed by the radio station as the "Debate of the Ages"), stating:

. . . I participated in an informal radio debate with old-earth proponent Hugh Ross. Hugh professes Christianity, but he simultaneously believes in the big bang (the most popular secular...

Deadly Disclosures

I'm not one for reading fiction books—and they would have to be extremely exciting to keep me interested.  When special Australian friends, Terry and Julie Cave, sent me a copy of the manuscript of Julie's first book—a mystery novel—I thought I would try to read it and see what I thought.  As I started to read, it immediately captivated me and I couldn't put it down.  What made it even more thrilling was that it was centered around a mystery at the Smithsonian in Washington DC; so even...

Easter Greetings from AiG!

1 Corinthians 15:17

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

On this Easter Sunday, we specially remember (as we should every day) that the Son of God was crucified on a cross (His earthly body died because death was the penalty for sin—and he became sin for us to pay the penalty for our sin), and was bodily raised from the dead, He conquered death!

To conquer death means that He has ultimate (infinite) power.  It was His resurrection that manifested Him to be t...

Answers in Genesis on 60 Minutes

No, there's no reason for alarm. 60 Minutes didn't show up at our doorstep recently. Instead, AiG (through our agency, JDA) went to them, with our new television spot.  It will air tomorrow night on this popular news program.

Check your listings to see when 60 Minutes is broadcast in your area (it's at 7pm for many stations in the East). At this point, we don't know when our short TV ad will air within the hour—but look for our spot promoting our new online video Bible, which is a big part of ...

Two Pastors' Conferences in September

In September I have the privilege of speaking at a conference for Christian leaders who are in the Calvary Chapel association of churches. It will be held in the beautiful area of central New York State called "The Finger Lakes," September 27-28.  (Evening sessions will be open to the public.) While there is no conference page on the church website just yet, you can find out more about the hosting church (Calvary Chapel of Finger Lakes) by going to its website at a

What Does "Impartial" Mean?

Quite a number of years ago, I debated the topic of origins with three people on BBC Television while I was on a speaking tour of the UK.  One of those I debated was Professor Steve Jones, professor of Genetics at University College, London.  On the TV program, I remember asking Prof. Jones for the best example he could give for Darwinian evolution.  I remember him talking about some different species ofsalmon that had been observed to form in recent times.  I remember answering something...

Defects—Not Intelligent Design

This year's $1.5 million Templeton Prize was awarded to geneticist and ardent evolutionist, Franciso Ayala (a former priest). The Templeton Prize website states:

The Templeton Prize honors a living person who has made an exceptional contribution to affirming life's spiritual dimension, whether through insight, discovery, or practical works. Established in 1972 by the late Sir John Templeton, the Prize aims, in his words, to identify "entrepreneurs of the spirit"—outstanding individuals who...

Radio Forum—Dr. Lisle vs. Dr. Hugh Ross

On what has been called "the most-listened-to Christian radio station in America," Dr. Jason Lisle of AiG will be representing the young earth position while Dr. Hugh Ross of Reasons to Believe will argue the case for an old earth on Wednesday (March 31st) at 5pm Pacific (8pm Eastern) on KKLA radio out of Los Angeles. KKLA talk-show host Frank Pastore, who used to live in our Cincinnati area (he pitched for the Cincinnati Reds about 30 years ago), will be the moderator. Both Dr. Lisle and...

"Defending the Faith"—Bring Your Family!

As we have noted in our lead article today, this Wednesday marks the last day you can take advantage of an "early-bird" discount for our "Defending the Faith" family conference near the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Right now is the time to make your summer vacation plans and have your family join us in beautiful northern Tennessee in July—and save money on your registration.

I am personally looking forward to speaking at this family conference, July 19-22. I also get to hear and learn from...
