Memories of Israel

Two of the highlights of last year's AiG tour of Israel (and Jordan) involved Pastor Kirk Wesselink, one of our 65 tour participants (along with Kirk's wife Joyce). Kirk baptized several people from among our two tour buses, and he also led a very special communion service at the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem (at the so-called Gordon Tomb, which is considered a strong possible site for Christ's Resurrection).

During the tour, Carl Kerby and Mark Looy—AiG's tour leaders—encouraged Kirk to bring his ...

Starting the Day with a Song

Our AiG staff had a real treat for our morning chapel yesterday, as dinosaur sculptor and singer Buddy Davis sang a number of songs from his new CD albums—I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Christ and Come On Board—which were just released.

Here is some more information about the two CDs:

I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Christ

I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Christ contains some very challenging songs—including one based on our book Already Gone.

Our promotional material about the CD says...

VBS Float

AiG's Vacation Bible School (VBS) program this year, Egypt File, has been a tremendous hit!  We have been overwhelmed with the response, and amazed at the creative ideas people have come up with to promote and then conduct the program.  Here is a fascinating example:

Our church here in Waverly, Iowa is doing the [Egypt File VBS:] program and we decided to have a float in our local Heritage Days parade on July 17.  I think the float turned out real cute.  Our mouse was a "BIG" hit.   We are...

Stephen Hawking—Both Right and Wrong

It was interesting to read an article about a warning from famed physicist Stephen Hawking that was summed up this way:

One way or another, the life on Earth will likely become uninhabitable for mankind in the future. We need to start seriously thinking about how we will free ourselves from the constraints of this dying planet.

The article is entitled,  "Stephen Hawking's Warning: Abandon Earth—Or Face Extinction," and includes these statements:

Let's face it: The planet is heating up, Earth's...

Discerning Truth—Now Available to Help You Think Logically

Dr. Jason Lisle's latest book is now available!  Discerning Truth: Exposing Errors in Evolutionary Arguments is an easy-to-read book that teaches people how to spot the mistakes in reasoning that evolutionists often make.  Learning to refute such bad arguments is an important part of defending the Christian faith (1 Peter 3:15).  Jason's previous book The Ultimate Proof of Creation and its associated Ultimate Apologetics DVDs have already been extremely popular. You can read more about this e...

A Wish Come True

We had an extra-special visitor at the Creation Museum last week while I was away on speaking ministry in Florida.

Landry McQuire is a five-year-old boy from Missouri who has some major health challenges. Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Landry was able to travel with his family to the museum (about 10 hours away by car). That was his wish of Make-A-Wish—to visit the museum (which he did for two days)!

Landry was especially taken by our Utahraptor animatronic dinosaur (see a photo of the...

What Is Marriage?

The topic of what is marriage gained news headlines last week as we read reports like this one from Fox News:

A federal judge on Wednesday overturned a California ban on same-sex marriage, ruling that the Proposition 8 ballot initiative was unconstitutional, but a pending appeal of the landmark ruling could prevent gay weddings from resuming in the state any time soon.

Well, we should not be surprised by such a ruling from this judge when Fox News also reported:

The ruling by U.S. District...

The Lord Is Good

I was recently moved by an email from an AiG friend who used to live in our area; while here, he had helped the AiG ministry in many ways. Paul moved to Arizona several weeks ago, but stays in touch; here's what he recently shared with us:

I was just reading Ken's daily blog, and he mentioned 3,000 museum visitors had shown up that day. All of a sudden the enormity of the museum's impact just hit me perspective-wise . . . a MILLION people have been through the museum so far, to see the Lord...

Homeschoolers Excelling at College

Given that I have seen and heard many comments from several secularists either criticizing or outright condemning homeschooling, I thought I should bring to your attention an article by the very respected HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association), which comments on real statistical research about homeschoolers and their success at college.

From what I've read, most secularists make very negative comments about homeschooling because the majority of homeschoolers are Christians (it is...

16 Children Won to the Lord

Here is another exciting testimony from a church (this one in Illinois) that used AiG's VBS program (Egypt File) this year:

Our church used the VBS program and we had 16 children come to know the Lord . . . we also heard from many of our teachers, who have been teaching Sunday school and VBS for many years that this is the best curriculum they have had in a long time!  Praise the Lord for how he is using the ministry of AiG!  Also . . . the Children's Ministry Coordinator who lead the VBS...
