When 200,000 Snapchat images--which are supposed to vanish for good after a few seconds--were leaked online last week, the ephemeral messaging service sidestepped all responsibility by casting the blame on unauthorized third-party applications--one of which has since been hacked and shuttered.

Google Challenges Amazon Prime With Same-Day Delivery For $95 A Year

"Google Express" expands to new cities and adds more merchant partners.

One year after the launch of Google Shopping Express, Google has expanded its same-day delivery service--now called Google Express--to three new cities. In a clear move to compete with Amazon Prime, Google will also begin offering a yearly membership option for the service--for $95, undercutting Amazon Prime's $99 annual price.

Apple And Facebook Will Pay For Women Employees To Freeze Their Eggs

The expensive procedure could allow women to focus on their careers during their childbearing years.

While having gourmet chefs and craft beer on tap sounds nice, two of the biggest firms in Silicon Valley--Apple and Facebook--are offering a perk that could have an impact. Both companies will soon offer up to $20,000 in coverage for egg-freezing costs, which in theory allows women the option to focus on their careers during their childbearing years and put parenthood on hold until they are ready. NBC News reports that Facebook employees have been taking advantage of the new policy since April, while Apple will begin in January.
