I Have A Better Pledge Suggestion

If I may, I have a better pledge suggestion for the House Republicans. And to keep them happy, they can even make this pledge without mentioning earmarks.

Here goes:

We, the House Republicans, pledge to do only these things and limit ourselves to doing them in such a way that if normal, non-lawyer Americans cannot comprehend our actions as deriving from one of these then we shall deem the action beyond the scope of our powers and not do it. The things we shall do and only do are as follows:

Perhaps the Most Ridiculous Thing to Come Out of Washington Since George McClellan

You are going to hear a lot of the people who savaged Christine O'Donnell and supported Mike Castle become enraptured and giggly like school girls for the House Republicans' "Pledge to America" A thrill will run up the leg of a few Chris Matthews' types on the right.

I have one message for John Boehner, Eric Cantor, and the House GOP Leadership: If they do not want to use the GOP to lead, I would like to borrow it for a time.

Yes, yes, it is full of mom tested, kid approved pablum that will...

Orrin Hatch Embraces His Future as a Scalp Collected by the Tea Party Movement

The Senate Republicans are so upset with Lisa Murkowski for losing her primary then running as a write-in candidate that they have kept her on as ranking member of the Energy Committee.

Yes, you read that right. Murkowski will now cause the GOP to spend resources in Alaska they otherwise would not have to and the Senate GOP is repaying her by leaving her as the ranking Republican on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee — a position she uses to tout her superiority to the Republican...

But what will be missing will make it a wasted exercise by a party that still shows little sign of getting exactly why it lost power in 2006.

One of the best examples of how ...

Alex Sink Gambled Florida's Future and Lost

"If Rick Scott is the Bernie Madoff of Medicare, is Alex Sink the Charles Ponzi of the Public Trust?"

Well, well, well. What do we have here?! It turns out that the Democratic nominee for Governor of Florida is tied a bit too closely to Charlie Crist and Bill McCollum in screwing Florida's citizens.

Sink sunk the state with bad investments. When the investments collapsed, Sink wanted to blame everyone but herself.

Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink pushed the state to sue big banks, which...
