Castle & Impeachment

I had wanted to post this earlier today, but got busy getting ready for a two week trip. It is still timely and relevant.

Over the past 24 hours, Mike Castle has been attacked for voting to refer Articles of Impeachment to the House Judiciary Committee against President George W. Bush.

He did.

So did 24 other Republicans including Peter King of New York.

Now, I don't know Mike Castle's mind or heart, but I do know that pretty much all of the 24 Republicans went on record that they did this to ...

Thank the Lord for Rush, Sean, and Mark

It has been terrific to hear Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin come to Christine O'Donnell's defense.

This race is not about Republicans winning. This is about conservatives not giving in. As Rush Limbaugh said earlier today, there are some Republicans not worth electing. Mike Castle is one of them.

Fight it out in the threads if you want. At least, and praise God, this will end one way or the other tonight.

One downside of this race, frankly, is that I think conservatives who...

Senate GOP Leadership Begins Setting The "Blame Conservatives" Narrative

Here's the situation on the ground: if the GOP makes significant gains in the United States Senate, it will be in spite of the best efforts of the Senate Republicans.

The Senate GOP stood with Charlie Crist and conservatives stood with Marco Rubio. The Senate GOP stood with Arlen Specter and conservatives stood with Pat Toomey. The Senate GOP stood with Trey Grayson and conservatives stood with Rand Paul. The Senate GOP stood with Bob Bennett, then that other guy, while conservatives stood with...

Meghan McCain's Dirty, Sexy Politics

Our own Leon Wolf has the definitive review of Meghan McCain's new book.

On June 20, 2002, the United States Supreme Court decreed, in the case of Atkins v. Virginia, that the mildly mentally retarded were categorically exempt from capital punishment, reasoning that fully functional adults of diminished mental capacity were as a matter of law not as culpable for their acts.  Writing eloquently in dissent, Justice Scalia drew a sharp distinction between the severely mentally retarded (who are...

The Obama Tax Increase and Small Business

John Boehner, on Sunday, suggested that he might be willing to support a tax package that included Barack Obama's tax increase on job creators — those making more than $250,000.00 a year.

There are some important points to consider.

First, this tax increase is, according to the Democrats, a tax increase on the rich. This is code for "job creators." Neither you nor I have ever met a poor man writing a paycheck. It is the rich who write paychecks. They are the job creators.

Second, the...
