Montreal-bound tomorrow and I’ll be taking the scenic route, traveling via VIA Rail. This will be my first train trip, but I imagine it’ll be something like this…
Or something close.
This will be the longest Akemi and I have been separated since…hell, I can’t even remember. Also, it’s going to be weird sleeping without a dog on the bed.

What was the first episode of SG-1 you watched? Were you onboard from the very beginning?
I have to admit, I came to it late(r). The first episode I watched was Emancipation. Based on that initial viewing, I dismissed the show outright – until I got the chance to read some scripts and…to my surprise, discovered that they were good. Really good! So it just goes to show – you should never judge a television series by its objectively worst episode.

July 26, 2021: Stargate-related!
Started work on the new pilot today, breaking the first episode into a Tease and Five Acts. I have the shell of the story but need to find those act outs, beats, and memorable moments that add color to an opener. Hoping to be done by top of next week after which I’ll get notes and then proceed to script. And, after that, it’ll be smoooooooooth sailing!
Impatiently awaiting notes on Project F in the meantime – and that zoom call with Seoul to discuss potential attachments. As always, I have ideas.

Gotta admit, I’m not averse to pickle and dill-flavored sweets. There was a neighborhood pop-up that was offering a pickle soft serve last summer. I was meaning to try it out but just never got around to doing so.
Thinking of going to Montreal for a few days to visit mom and sis now that everyone is vaxxed up. Considering actually going by train.
Don’t ever recall traveling by train before. Wonder what it will be like.
