August 9, 2021: The Dark Matter Miniseries!

Finally started work on the pitch for the Dark Matter miniseries.  I’ve spent the past week or so running through the basic story and structure, ultimately landing on a six episode arc that will cover the alien chapter originally planned for the show’s fourth season.

Set three years after the events of Episode 313, a missing player returns with the key to thwarting a massive alien invasion.  In order to defeat this formidable enemy, unlikely alliances will be forged, long-held secrets will be revealed, and the seeds of an even greater threat will be sown.

Dm_s2-openingsequence

And, yes, the plan is to bring back the entire cast along with all relevant guest stars.

Meanwhile, two more projects on the horizon brings the grand development total to ten.  10!  Can’t wait to land a show so that I can finally lessen my workload.

Today’s Yes/No…

August 7, 2021: Limoncello, Asteroids, Pseudo Mars, and Stargate!

Okay, finally got that limoncello recipe (posted Thursday) sorted out.  For some reason, Akemi is feeling particularly ambitious so we picked up some 94% proof (!) Alcool and will be going shopping for organic lemons this afternoon.  40 days soaking followed by 20 days freezing should make this batch-ready in time for my birthday.  Also, thinking of other versions we can try: orange, yuzu, maybe even sudachi?

August 3, 3021: Homeward Bound!

This train ride back to Toronto is so different, it’s almost surreal.  The car is modern, the seats are comfortable, and it has internet.  I’ve been offered snacks, drinks and a choice of three meals (!).  On the other hand, the guy seated in front of me is laughing away like a serial killer in a 70’s horror movie and I’m hoping he’s actually watching something but can’t quite get a glimpse of what he’s up to.  I fear peaking up over the seat and catching him gazing at his own gleeful reflection.

One of the tastiest things I had while in Montreal was the homemade limoncello c/o my sister’s friend.  It’s a process that involves peeling the rinds of fresh lemons and then steeping them in alcohol for 40 days before straining and mixing with cream, milk, and sugar.  Delicious.  Recipe available upon request!

Speaking of delicious…

Where can I get these?

Update: The guy in front of me isn’t watching anything!  BUT he IS earring earphones, presumably listening to something funny(?).  I sure hope so!
