People always assume that Suji is a pug mix but, in fact, she is pure pug.  Still, I wouldn’t be surprised if one of those doggy DNA tests showed she was part koala.

I will watch the most popular responses so that I can offer up my own equal divisive opinion.  So let’s hear ’em!

It’s hard to believe we’re deep into August and fall is almost upon us.  We’ve regained a certain degree of normalcy here in Toronto, but I wonder how things will progress once the temperature drops.  Hopefully the worst is behind us but, just in case, I urge you all to stock up…just in case.  Last I checked, there was still plenty of toilet paper at the local supermarket.

August 20, 2021: Looking ahead!

So I’m finishing up the last of my podcasts for the foreseeable future before going on an extended hiatus, but I was glad to get this one in.  This one was a little different (and, frankly, a lot more fun) in that we chatted less about accomplishments and more about the frustrations and challenges of working in this industry…

August 19, 2021: My Foodiest Post in Ages!

Last night, we went out for sushi for the first time in…oh…a year and a half.  It was an inside counter-sitting omakase service/  A first step towards, hopefully, heading back to Tokyo and revisiting some of our favorite sushi-yas.  Eventually.

I did the five sake sampler while Akemi had the single glass of plum wine – and we were both feeling it this morning, so Akemi opted for a light lunch of chicken broth and dumplings.  I enjoyed an equally light meal…

August 17, 2021: Should’ve thought twice about buying that black market bologna!

I just received an automated call from Border Services informing me that they have seized an illegal package in my name and, as a result, an arrest warrant has been issued for yours truly.  I was given the option to “Press One to speak to a representative” but figured what was the point?  They’ve already confiscated the powdered rhino horn, Egyptian mummy linen, and black market bologna so I might as well just head down to the police station and turn myself in.

August 16, 2021: Enter Blog Title Here!

I’m three lessons in to my beginners Korean language course.  If I maintain this torrid pace, by the time we schedule a zoom with that kpop talent, I will have fully mastered “Hello”, “Goodbye”, and “Have you had lunch?”.  My Japanese language review is going much faster, and certainly helped by my daily anime viewing.  Meanwhile, my stock and markets research continues…

My advice 2020: Try to set a realistic writing goal of 3-5 pages a day.
My advice 2021: Hold $UUP until the DXY hits 0.96, then sell and buy the lows in gold, silver, and emerging markets. Look to pick up $SQQQ in anticipation of a potential October-November downturn in equities.

Waiting to close the deal that will see me write that pilot script.  While waiting, I went ahead and beat out the episode.  This one is going to be lots of fun.  In other news of note, there’ll be a big announcement on my involvement in that epic comic book adaptation in the coming weeks.  Stay tuned!

Not sure if it’s a result of this pandemic, but I find I’ve grown increasingly impatient.  Also, have kind of lost interest in socializing.  Is it just me?

August 14, 2021: The hardest part of blogging is having to come up with a new entry title EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Today, I finally resumed my Japanese language studies.  I’m aiming for one, maybe two lessons a day on my ay to being conversational by the time we’re allowed to travel back to Tokyo.  I’ve also started Beginner’s Korean.  Given the current pace of development, I suspect I’ll be fluent by the time my sci-fi/kpop series is green lit.

Dinner tonight with super-producer J.B. Sugar, the ever-busy, eminently huggable Roger Cross, and, perhaps, the ever-entertaining, delightfully loquacious Anthony Lemke.

Have decided to wind down my podcast guesting and script reading.  I will, of course, honor my pre-existing commitments but once they’ve been completed, I am officially DONE.
