Muslim Cleric: Saying 'Merry Christmas' Is Worse Than Fornication, Alcohol, Or Killing Someone
More interfaith dialogue and mutual understanding:
Following are excerpts from a statement in English by Lebanese-born cleric Abu Musaab Wajdi Akkari, which was posted on the Internet on November 6, 2011.
Click here to view this clip on MEMRI TV Abu Musaab Wajdi Akkari: "You cannot say: 'Merry Christmas.' Not even if an alien came and said it to you – you cannot even say it to him, and say: "He's just an alien. I'm never going to see him again. He's not going to tell anyone."
"No 'Merry Christmas' – not from a Muslim and not from a non-Muslim. It's not part of our religion – period! It is the concept that God was born on the 25th of December. That's as polytheistic and heretic as you can get.
"When you say: 'Merry Christmas,' you are saying: 'Congratulations on your false religion,' 'Congratulations on your false understanding of life.' You are congratulating them on the most evil of polytheism and heresy.
"As Ibn Qayyim said, this is worse than fornication, drinking alcohol, and killing someone, because you are approving of the biggest crime every committed by the children of Adam – polytheism."

On New Year's Eve, members of the youth wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan attacked revelers in the city of Lahore and smashed cars to protest against New Year's celebrations, while columnists and Islamic clerics in Pakistan and India declared the occasion as un-Islamic, urging youth to refrain from emulating the West on occasions like New Year's and Christmas.
The following are media reports about the New Year celebrations in Pakistan and India:

In Lahore, youth members of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan attack people celebrating New Year
On December 28, 2011, Shabab-e-Milli, the youth wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, warned the owners of hotels, guest houses, and private clubs not to organize "immoral programs" on December 31, 2011 to mark the arrival of 2012.
According to a report in Roznama Jasarat, an Urdu-language daily published by the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Abid Mir, Secretary General of Shabab-e-Milli for the Lahore chapter, wrote two separate letters to senior police officers of Lahore Ghulam Mohammad Dogar and Ahmad Khan Cheema, asking them to stop "nonsensical programs" on New Year's Eve. Mir also warned that the Shab-e-Milli members "will not tolerate any immoral program and that the police and district administration should tell the owners of hotels, clubs, and guest houses [not to organize such programs]."
On New Year's Eve, members of Shabab-e-Milli armed with sticks monitored the streets of Lahore, and in some places attacked those celebrating, according to a video clip broadcast by Pakistani accessed via YouTube on January 1, 2012:
"These activists who are laced with sticks held a sit-in at Main Boulevard, Gulberg [in Lahore] and raised slogans… They hurled stones when the function [celebrating the nw year] was not stopped; they also broke the glasses of some cars…. At the same time, some youths carried out attacks to disperse those youths who had gathered to celebrate the New Year party. They also broke the glasses of their vehicles….
"One can find the rage in them the way these people, laced with sticks, entered the area where some youths were celebrating the New Year Night… These people are holding sticks in their hands and are carrying the flag of … [Shabab-e-Milli] and some of them have even wrapped it on their heads and necks. They attacked and also broke glasses of some vehicles. Some youths have also been injured…"

Liberal Website On Controversy Among U.S. Muslims Regarding Celebrating Christmas MEMRI
The liberal Arabic website Elaph.com recently reported that the Mufti of Washington D.C., Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hanooti, prohibited Muslim children from having their photos taken with Santa Claus, as this is a" sin" and "an abomination" that contravenes the tenets of Islam. The site emphasized that the Mufti's position does not represent the view of most Muslims living in the U.S., and that the imam of a mosque in Maryland has even urged Muslims to celebrate Christmas along with the Christians as a means of promoting their integration in American society.
The issue of Christmas celebrations has been a bone of contention among Muslims in Australia as well. Australian sources reported that Sheikh Yahya Safi, the imam of Australia's largest mosque, the Lakemba Mosque in Sydney, has ruled that Muslims must not extend Christmas greetings to Christians. The Mufti of Australia, Ibrahim Abu Muhammad, said in response that these were irresponsible statements and that Islam respects other religions.
The following are excerpts from the Elaph article:
Washington Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hanooti: Taking Pictures With Santa – An Abomination
"Muslim children's affection for Santa Claus could have been an opportunity to prove that [the Muslims] are part of the multi-cultural social fabric of the U.S., after [some] other groups in American society have accused them of a tendency to isolate themselves socially. American-Muslim parents hoped that this year's Christmas celebrations would break the ice between their children and their Christian friends..."

Global Muslim Bloc Declares War On Free Speech In West
If the Islamofascists want to curb criticism of their faith in non-Muslim countries, they should rein in their supremacist attitudes, as well as the hordes of terrorists who give their faith a bad name.
The Philistines are at it again. Relentless in their jihad to suppress freedom and drive humanity back several centuries, the largest voting bloc at the United Nations, the OIC (made of 56 Muslim countries and the "Palestinian" territories) have issued their latest report on free speech and why it should be restricted. Jihadists should be allowed to slaughter without criticism, oppress non-Muslims without comment, and subjugate at will.
The OIC represents 56 countries plus the Palestinian Authority. It claims also to represent Muslim immigrants — the “Diaspora” — in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. It is pan-Islamic: it seeks to unify and lead the world’s 1.3 billion Muslims.
The world's leading scholar on Islam in the West, Bat Ye'or, describes the OIC as a “would-be, universal caliphate.” It might look different from the caliphates of the Ottomans, Fatimids, and Abbasids. It might resemble, instead, a thoroughly modern trans-national bureaucracy. But, already, the OIC exercises significant power through the United Nations and through the European Union, which has been eager to accommodate the OIC while simultaneously endowing the U.N. with increasing authority for global governance. Among the other organizations doing the OIC’s bidding are the U.N. Alliance of Civilizations, the U.N. Commission on Human Rights, and the European Parliamentary Association for Euro-Arab Cooperation (PAEAC).
The OIC has relentlessly pursued resolutions on restrictions on free speech for decades. Their latest report is a declaration of holy war against freedom of speech and ..... freedom.
I am, of course, a prominent figure in their report (here). Proudly, I might add. Every voice of reason and conscience is a target for these supremacist thugs.
Here's one passage from their report:
"Global Muslim Bloc Launches War On Free Speech In West," Investors Business Daily, December 23, 2013
Islamofascism: An influential bloc of 57 Muslim countries demands that the West make it an international crime to criticize Islam. Then stop making it such an easy target.
In its 94-page document on "Islamophobia," the Saudi-based Organization of Islamic Cooperation lists as potential felonies: expressing "ideas that Muslims are inclined to violence" and "Islam is an inherently expansionist religion."
Under those standards, however, the OIC would have to indict itself. Its charter espouses violent jihad and the global implementation of Shariah law.
The OIC provides intellectual justification for terrorism, describing attacks on "occupiers and colonialists" as "legitimate jihad." OIC refuses to define "individual destructive acts" against perceived foes as terrorism.
The international Muslim body also espouses Islamic supremacism.
In its Cairo Declaration of 1990, OIC claims Allah made the global nation of Islam "the best nation." It also demands that there be "no crime or punishment except as provided for in the Shariah."
This would include blasphemy laws, which make "insulting Islam" punishable by death — laws the OIC wants to bring all Americans under.
In its current report, the OIC proposes the U.S. and Europe bar from entry known critics of Islam, so they can't take part in rallies or lectures regarding terrorism. It also wants to censor teachers and indoctrinate students by issuing "Guidelines for Educators on Countering Intolerance and Discrimination against Muslims."
In its report, the OIC bullies the media, too.
It complains they play a "negative role" by propagating "stereotypes and misperceptions about Islam." Specifically, it doesn't like reporting on the "radicalization" of Muslims, arguing that Islam does not radicalize Muslims to the point where they commit terrorist acts.
Yeah, tell that to the terrorist who last May hacked to death a British soldier in London. At his sentencing this month, Michael Adebolajo said he did it to "make it to paradise."
"To fight jihad for the sake of Allah," he testified, "it's not something that is to be taken lightly."
Or tell it to the Kansas airport worker charged this month with planning a suicide bombing at a passenger terminal.
Terry Lee Loewen, a Muslim convert, said: "I have become radicalized in the strongest sense of the word, and I don't feel Allah wants me any other way."
Both jihadists quoted the Quran and other sacred Islamic texts to support their actions.
The OIC also demands non-Muslim nations observe all Muslim holidays. How is this not "expansionist"?
If the Islamofascists want to curb criticism of their faith in non-Muslim countries, they should rein in their supremacist attitudes as well as the hordes of terrorists who give their faith a bad name.

Hamas Starts a War on Christmas Eve: After Weekend Attacks, Israeli Civilian Death from Sniper fire, Israel Responds
After a weekend of Islamic attacks against Israel, I warned that "the savages are itching for a war -- it's imminent." And I was right.
On Tuesday, Hamas shot and killed an Israel civilian (above) fixing a fence after the storm.
Defense Ministry worker was fixing fence after storm; Hamas braces for retaliation; Palestinian said wounded by IDF as additional troops deploy
An Israeli man working on the border fence was killed by sniper fire Tuesday afternoon along the Gaza Strip.
The man, 22-year-old Saleh Abu Latif from the predominantly Bedouin city of Rahat, was working between Nahal Oz and Kfar Aza as a civilian employed by the Israeli Defense Ministry on repairs to a section of the Israel-Gaza border fence damaged in last week’s storm. The fence had collapsed in three locations due to the storm.
Typical of Muslim warfare: they start on Christmas eve. Religious holidays are always a favored day for war and bloodshed for devout Muslims waging jihad.
Of course, the media didn't report any of this, and won't until the Israelis react (which is long overdue).
The Israelis have finally responded. And so will the media.
IDF strikes Gaza in retaliation for deadly shooting attack," The Times of Israel, December 24, 2013Toddler and her father said killed in air raid hours after Palestinian sniper guns down Defense Ministry employee fixing border fence
The Israeli air force launched strikes Tuesday afternoon on targets in the Gaza Strip, in response to a sniper attack earlier that killed an Israeli civilian.
According to Israel Radio, the IAF destroyed a Hamas military training facility west of the Khan Yunis refugee camp. The report added that Hamas targets in the Gaza neighborhood of Zaytoun and the Al-Bureij camp were damaged by the IAF as well.
IDF tanks also fired shells at what it said were terror targets in the Gaza neighborhoods of Zaytoun, Shuja’iyya and the al-Bureij refugee camp.
Military sources said that the airstrikes are “limited in scope” and “are not ongoing.” Aside from a directive given to farmers to avoid the fields in direct proximity to the border, the IDF Home Front Command has issued no further orders to civilians in the area.
According to Palestinian sources in the Strip, two people — a 3-year-old child named Hala Sabiha and her father — were killed during the Israeli strikes, and nine were injured.
The father and daughter were killed during an airstrike on a target located in the central Gaza Strip refugee camp of Deir al-Balah, according to Palestinian Ma’an News agency. No casualties were reported as a result of the strike near Khan Yunis.
The IDF had no immediate comment on the report of Palestinian fatalities.
Shortly before the air force strikes, the Hamas leadership ordered the evacuation of all security personal from their posts in Gaza for fear of an imminent Israeli attack.
“Earlier today a Gaza sniper killed an Israeli civilian by firing a single bullet at his chest,” said the IDF spokesperson’s office in a statement. “The individual was shot while doing maintenance along the Israel-Gaza security fence in the northern Gaza Strip. This is the first Israeli civilian killed in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip since Operation Pillar of Defense” last year.
“In response, IAF aircrafts and IDF tanks and infantry retaliated and targeted terror sites in the Gaza Strip. The sites targeted were a weapon manufacturing facility and a terror infrastructure in the southern Gaza Strip, a terror site and another terror infrastructure in the central Gaza Strip, and a concealed rocket launcher in the northern Gaza Strip. Direct hits were confirmed.”
The Israeli who was killed, 22-year-old Saleh Abu Latif from the predominantly Bedouin city of Rahat, was working between Nahal Oz and Kfar Aza as a civilian employed by the Israeli Defense Ministry on repairs to a section of the Israel-Gaza border fence damaged in last week’s storm.
The fence had collapsed in three locations due to the storm.
Following the sniper attack, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that Israel will not stand silent in face of any assault on its citizen population.
“This is a very serious incident,” Netanyahu said shortly after the attack. “Our policy has been to foil terror attempts ahead of time and respond forcefully, and that’s how we will act in this case as well,” he said.
“We will not allow for daily life to be disrupted in the South,” said Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, “and will respond aggressively and painfully to any threat that may compromise our sovereignty and harm our citizens and soldiers. I suggest that Hamas not test our patience, and assert its authority in the region. If there will be no peace in Israel, there will be no peace in Gaza.
“There is no direct connection between the terrorist attacks of the past two days and the shooting at the border of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death of an Israeli worker, but we treat all such incidents very seriously,” Ya’alon added.
Only a few hours before the killing of the Israeli civilian, the prime minister commented on the recent increase of rocket fire from the Gaza Strip, and vowed to put an end to such attacks.
“We will not allow intermittent missile fire to turn into a storm,” he said.
Two hours after the shooting, Gazan authorities reported that an 18-year-old Palestinian man was moderately wounded from IDF fire east of Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip. The young man was reportedly evacuated to the hospital. It was not immediately clear if IDF troops were operating in the area, which is located a few kilometers from the site of the sniper shooting.
The IDF deployed additional forces to the Gaza border area after the shooting.
Israeli sources say Hamas has pointedly neglected its duties under agreements reached following last year’s Operation Pillar of Defense, according to which Hamas was responsible for patrolling the Gazan side of the border and preventing attacks on Israel from the Strip.
Brig. Gen. (res.) Shmuel Zakai, former head of IDF’s Gaza Division, told Israel Radio shortly after the shooting that there was “clearly an escalation of terror incidents” in recent weeks.
Nevertheless, he said, “Israel must continue along the delicate path that intercepts the terror activity with good intelligence and precision operations, not with a response that is overly aggressive and could lead to a further escalation in the area.”
On Monday, troops fired on a Palestinian man near the northern border of the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF Spokesperson, the Palestinian was spotted placing an explosive device near the border fence. Israeli soldiers fired at his lower extremities. The 20-year-old man suffered moderate gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen, the Palestinian Ma’an News reported.
There have reportedly been several attempts to place explosives on the border fence in the past several days.
Earlier in the day Monday, Gazans fired a rocket that landed near a children’s bus stop in the Ashkelon area.
The IDF said it would not change plans to ease restrictions on Palestinian Christians in the West Bank and Gaza for the Christmas holiday.
A spokesperson declined to comment on steps the army may take to increase its level of readiness in the face of the string of attacks.
Egypt: Bombing at police station murders 12, government blames "terrorist organization" Muslim Brotherhood

And protesters outside the damaged building are demanding the execution of Brotherhood leaders (in the picture below, Brotherhood top dog Mohammed Badie is depicted as being hanged:
"Bombing at Egypt police station kills 12, wounds 134," by Maggie Michael and Mohammed Wagdy for the Associated Press, December 24 (thanks to all who sent this in):
MANSOURA, Egypt (AP) — A powerful explosion believed to be caused by a car bomb ripped through a police headquarters in a Nile Delta city north of Cairo early on Tuesday, killing 12 people and wounding more than 100, leaving scores buried under the rubble. The country’s interim government accused the Muslim Brotherhood of orchestrating the attack, branding it a “terrorist organization.”
It was the first major bombing in the Nile Delta, spreading the carnage that has marked Egypt’s turmoil over the past months to a new area and bringing it closer to Cairo. Previous deadly violence has mostly taken place in the volatile Sinai Peninsula and in Suez Canal-area cities east of the Egyptian capital.
The 1:10 a.m. blast struck at the security headquarters in the city of Mansoura, 110 kilometers (70 miles) north of Cairo in the Nile Delta province of Daqahliya, collapsing an entire section and side wall of the five-floor building, incinerating dozens of cars outside and damaging several nearby buildings.
The state news agency MENA said 12 people were killed, including eight police officers, and that 134 were wounded, among them the city’s security chief and his assistant. Most of the victims were policemen, many of whom were buried beneath the debris....
The Mansoura attack came shortly after the Islamic militant group Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, or the Champions of Jerusalem, threatened more attacks on the military and police, saying it considers Egyptian troops to be infidels because they answer to the secular-leaning military-backed government....
In its message, which appeared on militant websites Monday, the group said it “will be more determined to fight” the military and police if its warning is ignored. It urged them to “repent” from participating in “this infidel bastion that is at war with God and his Prophet, and stop serving in its ranks.”...

Jihad in The Congo: Muslim Terrorists Rape And Mutilate 21 In The Congo
The news gets worse in Africa, as every country is under siege by jihadists.
"Muslim Terrorists Rape And Mutilate 21 In The Congo" Religious Freedom Coaltion, December 19, 2013 (thanks to Mark)
United Nations peacekeeping forces have recently discovered the bodies of 21 men, women, children and babies who were hacked to death or beheaded by members of the Ugandan Muslim terrorist group known as ADF-Nalu. The slaughter took place in the Democratic Republic Of Congo.
“The victims, including women and children — the youngest of which is thought to have been only a few months old — were hacked to death on December 13 and 14.
“Three girls under 18 are reported to have been raped by the attackers and then beheaded. The mutilated and dismembered body of a child is said to have been found in a tree, in the village of Musuku.”
The ADF-Nalu group stands for Allied Democratic Forces-National Army for the Liberation of Uganda and is considered the only Islamist group this area of the Congo. It is run by Jamil Mukulu, a supposed “Christian” who converted to Islam.
According to a Brussels-based think tank International Crisis Group, this terrorist organization “… has shown remarkable resilience attributable to its geostrategic position, its successful integration into the cross-border economy and corruption in the security forces.”
It is feared that ADF-Nalu will become as major link in the growing numbers of Islamist groups operating in East Africa.

Lesley Stahl: But when you have so many phone records being held, emails, heads of state’s phone conversations being listened in to, has it been worth our allies being upset? Has it been worth all the tech companies being upset? Has it been worth Americans feeling that their privacy has been invaded?Susan Rice: Lesley, it's been worth what we've done to protect the United States. And the fact that we have not had a successful attack on our homeland since 9/11 should not be diminished. But that does not mean that everything we're doing as of the present ought to be done the same way in the future.
