Muslim University Student in Canada Refuses to Do Course Work with Women

Here's the thing: why come and live in a Western country when it is the sharia you wish to live under? Why attend Western universities when you want to live under a backwards, culturally deprived, and misogynistic system of governance?

A Muslim student at York University has refused to course work with women in a study group for "religious reasons" and has "sparked a human rights tug-of-war between a professor and campus administration."

This is not complicated. He should be told to bug off. Instead, he has "sparked" a debate. Worse still, he was granted permission to flout his Islamic misogyny.

What's really interesting is that this is framed as a human rights issue -- not for women, mind you (they have no such equal rights under Islam) -- but a human rights issue for Muslim supremacists.  Oxymoronical. It proves yet again how ridiculous, subjective and dangerous these easily manipulated "human rights councils" are. The "Centre for Human Rights weighed in on the side of sharia advocacy "....the OHRC does require accommodations based on religious observances.”

Off topic but related, York police strong armed and threatened a Rabbi into canceling a talk I was giving at the Chabad synagogue. York has submitted to sharia oppression, Jew hatred and misogyny.

A York University student has sparked a brouhaha after he was granted permission to be excused from some course work because he did not want to work with women for religious reasons.

A York University student who refused to do group work with women for religious reasons has sparked a human rights tug-of-war between a professor and campus administration.

 While the professor wanted to deny the student’s request, a university dean ordered him to comply.

 Professor Paul Grayson is now blowing the whistle on what he sees as a hierarchy of freedoms at York — religious rights trumping women’s rights.

 “In order to meet an instance of a religious requirement we have tacitly accepted a negative definition of females,” Grayson told the Star. “That’s not acceptable.”

 The brouhaha began in September when a student in an online sociology class emailed Grayson about the class’s only in-person requirement: a student-run focus group.

“One of the main reasons that I have chosen internet courses to complete my BA is due to my firm religious beliefs,” the student wrote. “It will not be possible for me to meet in public with a group of women (the majority of my group) to complete some of these tasks.”

 While Grayson’s gut reaction was to deny the request, he forwarded the email to the faculty’s dean and the director for the centre for human rights.

 Their response shocked him; the student’s request was permitted.

 The reasoning was apparently that students studying abroad in the same online class were given accommodations, and allowed to complete an alternative assignment.

 “I think Mr. X must be accommodated in exactly the same way as the distant student has been,” the vice dean wrote to Grayson.

 The professor argues that is not a valid comparison — there is a major difference between accommodating someone who can’t physically meet class members versus someone who refuses to interact with women, he says.

 Grayson’s reply was scathing.

 “York is a secular university. It is not a Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, or Moslem university. In our policy documents and (hopefully) in our classes we cling to the secular idea that all should be treated equally, independent of, for example, their religion or sex or race.

 “Treating Mr. X equally would mean that, like other students, he is expected to interact with female students in his group.”

 A university provost, speaking on behalf of the dean, said the decision to grant the student’s request was made after consulting legal counsel, the Ontario Human Rights Code and the university’s human rights centre.

 “Students often select online courses to help them navigate all types of personal circumstances that make it difficult for them to attend classes on campus, and all students in the class would normally have access to whatever alternative grading scheme had been put in place as a result of the online format,” said Rhonda Lenton, provost and vice president academic.

 The director of the Centre for Human Rights also weighed in on the decision in an email to Grayson.

 “While I fully share your initial impression, the OHRC does require accommodations based on religious observances.”

 The professor argued that if a Christian student refused to interact with a black student, as one could argue with a skewed interpretation of the Bible, the university would undoubtedly reject the request.

 “I see no difference in this situation,” Grayson wrote.

 The student’s religious identity is unclear because human rights rules bar a professor from asking a student their religion. However, based on the student’s name, Grayson surmised that he is either an Orthodox Jew or Muslim.

 Jewish and Muslim scholars from York told Grayson that neither religion instructs a man to avoid interacting with women in public.

 “Unless he is asked to be physical with a female student, which I assume he isn’t, there is absolutely no justification for not interacting with females in public space,” an Islamic scholar wrote to the professor.

 The professor took the dean’s ruling to a department meeting. Other professors agreed with Grayson and passed a motion refusing any student accommodations if they marginalize a student, faculty member or teaching assistant.

 The following day, Grayson used this justification to reject the student’s request.

 The professor insisted that the student at the centre of the controversy is not a zealot. In fact, he later agreed to work with his assigned group, many of whom were women.

 “I cannot expect that everything will perfectly suit what I would consider an ideal situation,” the student wrote. “I will respect the final decision, and do my best to accommodate it. I thank you for the way you have handled this request, and I look forward to continuing in this course.”

 Regardless, Grayson may face consequences for defying the dean’s decision and creating a new departmental policy to justify his stance.

 “My union has told me that under the circumstances I could be subject to disciplinary measures,” Grayson said.

 He doubts that will happen.

 “It would open such a can of worms for the university trying to sanction someone from, basically, expressing them self.”

 The university did not answer the Star’s questions as to whether Grayson will be reprimanded.

 The incident is the latest clash between religious values and Ontario's secular education system.

Fourth, institute the golden rule under Islam (which has none). Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Fifth, stop Muslim immigration from jihad nations.

Next, we should implement AFDI's 18 point platform -- here. That'll stop that nagging "islamophobia" dead in its tracks.

More good, healthy ideas:

Outlaw jihad.

Vigorously enforce the Logan act.

Stop slaughtering non-Muslims in Muslim countries under the sharia.

End gender apartheid, creed apartheid, race apartheid under Islamic law.

Stop imposing sharia in the secular marketplace, public school and workplace.

Throw off that ghastly cloth prison, the misogynistic burka.

Six men have been found shot dead in four cars abandoned in an area of southern Russia, further heightening security concerns ahead of the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The killings were on the outskirts of Pyatigorsk, which like Sochi, lies near the Caucasus region, where an Islamic insurgency is simmering.

Three of the cars had been rigged with explosive devices, but only one of the bombs went off and no one was hurt. The victims had all been shot.

 Vladimir Markin, spokesman for Russia’s main investigative agency, said in a statement that Federal Security Service officers had joined the investigation, and that no motive had yet been determined.NTV television reported from the scene that security had been heightened on the nearby border with Kabardino-Balkaria, one of several predominantly Muslim republics in Russia’s Caucasus.

Three men whose bodies were in three of the cars have been identified: Two were taxi drivers and the third assembled furniture for a private businessman, reports said. The men were said to be local residents and drove inexpensive Soviet-model Lada cars.

The three other victims were found late yesterday in a fourth vehicle. An explosive device had been placed next to the car in a metal bucket, but was defused by investigators.

Explosives also had been placed near two of the other cars; one of the devices went off as police approached and the other was defused.

The incident follows two suicide bomb attacks which killed 34 people in the southern city of Volgograd last month.

Why is this even news? If Muslims ("Palestinians") were calling for recognition of the Jewish state, that would be news. If Muslims ("Palestinians")  were calling for peace with the Jewish people, that would be news.  If Muslims ("Palestinians") were working to expunge Islamic teachings of jihad and the violent texts that call for ethnic cleansing and the slaughter of religious minorities, that would be news.

If not for their Jew-hatred, these people would have no identity.

This is not news. This is what they do. The world sanctioning savagery and the incitement to violence should be news. But it ain't.

Attackers smash windows, attempt to storm hotel's conference hall but are stopped by PA police.

 

 

Scores of Palestinian activists on Thursday attacked a hotel in Ramallah where Israelis and Palestinians were holding a meeting to talk about peace. Chanting slogans against “normalization” with Israel, the vandals smashed windows and tried to storm the conference hall before dozens of Palestinian Authority policemen pushed them back.

The meeting, which was held under the motto “Ordinary People Make Peace,” was organized by a group called Israeli- Palestinian Public Negotiating Congress in Ramallah & Jerusalem.

The group is co-chaired by Dr. Sapir Handelman, an Israeli who received the Peter Becker Award in Peace & Conflict Studies, and Ibrahim Enbawi, a prominent Palestinian figure from Jerusalem.

Thursday’s meeting was part of a two-day seminar on solutions to the conflict. The second meeting is expected to place in east Jerusalem on Friday.

The Palestinian and Israeli delegations consist of 15 members each. They include ex-IDF officers, Palestinian security commanders, Israeli settlers, Palestinian ex-prisoners, academics, businessmen and journalists.

Palestinian activists who learned about the meeting at City Inn Hotel hanged a banner at the entrance to the hotel reading, “Normalization is Treason.”

The activists protested against the presence of Israelis in the city, banging on the main gate and chanting, “Israelis out!” Others chanted, “No to negotiations, no to normalization, this homeland is not for sale” and “Our people want RPG [rocket-propelled grenades], not security coordination.”

A Palestinian journalist expressed outrage over the hanging of an Israeli flag next to a Palestinian flag inside the conference hall.

One of the protesters condemned the Palestinian participants.

“Instead of caring about our people in the refugee camps, they are sitting here with Israelis who are killing our people every day,” he said. “It’s disgraceful that these people and our Palestinian Authority are continuing to negotiate with Israelis, begging them to give us something.”

The activist denounced the PA police for refusing to allow him and his friends to enter the conference hall to protest against the meeting.

Islamic Jew-hating "moderate" Muslim Hussein Ibish Bashes Columnist Jeff Jacoby as He Searches for Missing Son

Islamic Jew-hatred cannot be contained even at a time when religion, politics, etc. have no role. The hatred ingrained in Islam is so elemental, so much a part of the DNA of that vicious ideology, that in America when a newspaper man's son is missing, the "moderate" Muslim Jew-haters go in for the kill.

Any human being with a modicum of decency and humanity would refrain from Jew-bashing and defamation at such a terrible time. But this is a savage. His hate is rivaled only by his size.

Hussein Ibish is a vicious antisemitic predator. Sadly, his views are typical in the Muslim community, where hatred of the Jew and other non-believers is a pillar of Islamic teaching.

Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby's son is missing. A quiet young Jewish Day School student, Caleb Jacoby spent his free time in the library and at synagogue. I have been watching this terrible story unfold. My thoughts and prayers are with the Jacoby family. May Hashem bring their son back to them.

Twitter was alight on Thursday with angry reactions to American Task Force on Palestine Senior Fellow Hussein Ibish, who bashed Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby, as the writer works to mobilize the city of Boston to search for his 16-year old son Caleb, who went missing on Monday.

“Jeff Jacoby is a hateful fanatic, but I very much hope his son is quickly found safe and sound,” Ibish tweeted, linking to an article about the search for Caleb.

Twitter readers couldn’t get over Ibish’s nasty, while supportive, remark. The Beirut-born academic was educated in Boston, at Emerson College, and has a PhD from University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Twitter user Mary Stewartresponded, “You sound hateful by saying that,” to which Ibish responded with a series of tweets, reiterating his nasty stance.

“I don’t see how. The man’s obviously a harmful fanatic. But I wish his son to be recovered ASAP & safe and sound,” Ibish said, then continued, “The point is, one can recognize that people with extreme opinions, and especially their children, have a right to remain unharmed… It doesn’t mean they don’t have extreme opinions which one continues to object to, but one wishes them safety & security… It’s important to be able to sympathize at a human level with those one finds dangerously fanatical. Especially their kids…”

Dexter Van Zile, Christian Media Analyst for Boston-based media watchdog CAMERA, responded, “It would have been better if you had said nothing at all. This is simply shocking.”

Bostonian Samantha R Mandeles wrote, “Wow. You’re clearly a self-righteous, insensitive ass, but ” She continued, “How is Jacoby a harmful fanatic? He’s not the one who just word-vomited all over Twitter like a bitchy teenager.”

Watchdog group JCC Watch also was surprised by Ibish’s comment, tweeting, “sounds like you are the hateful one,” while media monitor CIF Watch tweeted, “what on earth is wrong with you? #sick.”

On Obama's Watch: Al Qaeda Now Controls More Territory Than Ever In The Middle East

Twelve years after September 11th and the tens of thousands of subsequent jihadi attacks across the world, Al Qaeda is triumphant. "Al-Zawahiri is closer to his goal than he has ever been."

Al Qaeda is thriving in the Middle East and Africa. The spread of evil is the symptom of a vacuum. Whenever evil wins, it is only by default: by the moral failure of those who evade the fact that there can be no compromise on basic principles (Ayn Rand). And Obama has compromised on every basic principle of freedom and defense of liberty. That's why the Middle East has descended into chaos so far and so fast.

“From around Aleppo in western Syria to small areas of Falluja in central Iraq, al Qaeda now controls territory that stretches more than 400 miles across the heart of the Middle East, according to English and Arab language news accounts as well as accounts on jihadist websites.

Indeed, al Qaeda appears to control more territory in the Arab world than it has done at any time in its history.

The focus of al Qaeda’s leaders has always been regime change in the Arab world in order to install Taliban-style regimes. Al Qaeda’s leader Ayman al-Zawahiri acknowledged as much in his 2001 autobiography, ‘Knights Under the Banner of the Prophet,’ when he explained that the most important strategic goal of al Qaeda was to seize control of a state, or part of a state, somewhere in the Muslim world, explaining that, ‘without achieving this goal our actions will mean nothing.’

Now al-Zawahiri is closer to his goal than he has ever been. On Friday al-Qaeda’s affiliate in Iraq seized control of parts of the city of Falluja and parts of the city of Ramadi, both of which are located in Iraq’s restive Anbar Province.

Anbar is home to predominantly Sunni Muslims, who feel that that the Shiite-dominated Iraqi government of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki treats the Sunnis as second-class citizens.

Sectarian tensions in Anbar recently burst into several all-out revolts against the government, and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), as the al-Qaeda affiliate there is known, quickly seized the opportunity to notch some battlefield victories.

Government forces increased their presence around Falluja in response and on Tuesday tribal leaders issued a statement urging people who had fled the city or stopped reporting to work to return.

ISIS is also operating in Syria, where it has established a presence in many areas of the Aleppo and Idlib Governorates in the northwest. In August, ISIS launched a propaganda series on video highlighting their activities in Syria, which includes interviews with fighters; the ‘graduation’ of a group of mujahedin ‘cubs’ (aged about 7 to 10 years old) from training, and sermons at local mosques preaching al Qaeda’s interpretation of Islam.

The al-Nusra front has claimed to control parts of at least a dozen Syrian towns. Those include sections of the ancient city of the Aleppo in the northwest, where fighters have been filmed running a community fair and preaching al Qaeda’s values to crowds of children.

The group has also released videos on jihadist websites claiming that it is providing services to the people of several towns in the governorate of Idlib, which borders the Aleppo Governorate to the west. Al Nusra claims that it is a quasi-government and service-provider in the towns of Binnish, Taum, and Saraqib.

Al-Nusra fighters allied to al Qaeda function like a government in areas they control in Syria. The group provides daily deliveries of bread, free running water and electricity, a health clinic, and a strict justice system based on Sharia law in the eastern Syrian city of Ash Shaddadi, where it also took control of the city’s wheat silos and oil wells.

In September a CNN reporting team concluded, ‘Al Qaeda has swept to power with the aim of imposing a strict Islamist ideology on Syrians across large swathes of Syria’s rebel-held north.’

In sum, al Qaeda affiliates now control much of northern and northwestern Syria as well as some parts of eastern Syria, as well as much of Anbar province, which is around a third of Iraqi territory.” Read more.

 

Beheaded Bodies of 50 Syrian Citizens Found in Aleppo After Obama-Backed Jihadists Withdraw from Area

Where are the Congressional hearings on Obama's support of these savages? The silence of the media is bloodcurdling.

Obama wanted to wage military strikes on behalf of these jihadists. But the leader from behind had no one in front of him so he moved on to his next debacle.....taking down Israel.

The corpses of 50 beheaded Syrian citizens and several reporters of the Al-Nusra Front have been discovered in Al-Ayoun Hospital after withdrawal of the militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) from the area.
 
Mohammad Qaranieh known as Seifollah, a reporter affiliated to the Al-Nusra Front, has also been identified among the bodies.
 
The conflict in Syria started in March 2011, when sporadic pro-reform protests turned into a massive insurgency following the intervention of western and regional states.
 
The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.

 
As the foreign-backed insurgency in Syria continues without an end in sight, the US government has boosted its political and military support to Takfiri extremists.
 
Washington has remained indifferent to warnings by Russia and other world powers about the consequences of arming militant groups.
