WORDS OF LIFE

I’ve noticed that people who have no respect for the scriptures are the very people who would be happy to do those things to me and to everyone who doesn’t agree with them. Their hatred for the scriptures is an objection to calling selfishness good. The opposite of love is selfishness and this is what people who hate the scriptures call love.

Self-indulgence, self-identification, selfishness at everyone else’s expense. Anything “self” other than self-control because that would require selflessness, which is what the scriptures say the love of God is all about. It’s not my job to fix or control anybody. I’m known for who I stand with not against.

I am responsible for helping people, of any people group, whether they believe what I believe or not. I am responsible for feeding the hungry, for loving and protecting children, for restoring people who have been outcast, and for doing my part to advance the Kingdom. I am to answer evil with goodness, have mercy on people, and make a tremendous difference in the lives of people. I love truth. I love Justice. I love hope and transformation.

I know this life, I live this life, and I teach this life because these are the words of the Lord Jesus Christ and the values of the scriptures. Value for the scriptures makes everything better and a hatred for them makes everything worse!

Declaration: I will honor the words of Jesus because His words are full of life. I will treasure the Scriptures in my heart and guard my mouth from speaking against them in defeat or unbelief. In Jesus’ name, amen!

RISING WATERS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBERS

John 4:21 (NKJV): Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.”

RISING WATERS

In the Bible, there is a prophetic story of a guy named Ezekiel who experienced a crazy cool kind of flood. In the 47th chapter of the book with his name, he says he saw water pouring out from the temple and he found himself ankle-deep, knee-deep, waist-deep, and finally, he was overwhelmed. In this new covenant that Jesus purchased for us, we don’t have to go to a temple to experience God the Father. The “temple” experience flows out to us.

When I think about water levels rising, I think about this part of the scriptures. To me, it’s all about God’s goodness in my life. I don’t want to be an ankle-deep Christian. I don’t want to settle for mere knee-deep Christianity. I want to love God and love people in a way that is over my head. I want to be overwhelmed by the presence of God and the love of Jesus Christ.

I think we can get as deep as we want to. I just think we are too scared to jump all the way in sometimes. I encourage you to go after God in a way that is way too deep for most others. Allow yourself to get overwhelmed by the goodness and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ in a way that is just too scary for safety seekers. He is inviting you out deeper and deeper, and you and I are not going to miss it.

Declaration: Jesus, Psalms 42:7 (NIV) says, Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me. I declare that I will encounter You in an overwhelming, all-consuming move of Your Spirit. I humble myself before You and ask that You tangibly meet me today. All glory, all honor, and all power to Your name!

UNWAVERING

Romans 4:20 (NKJV): He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.

UNWAVERING

Years ago I taught a sermon series called Jesus Unveiled, where I talked about the power of Apocalypse. The word Apocalypse has been butchered in our generation to mean the very worst thing that could happen.  I remember when Big Tex caught on fire at the State Fair back in October of 2012. We all joked about it and claimed it was the ultimate harbinger of evil screaming, “Zombie Apocalypse!” on the graphics we used.

Well, that’s not what apocalypse means. Apocalypse is how we actually see Jesus. The word is translated Revelation and it actually interprets as Unveiling. It’s that light bulb moment or that supernatural bombshell that happens when God shows us something amazing. Some people refer to it as a moment of clarity, others would call it an epiphany. A thought, an understanding that comes from heaven and changes everything. 

Sometimes it’s as powerful as a lightning bolt and sometimes as soft as a whisper, but it’s always profoundly personal. That’s God. That’s personal revelation. That’s exactly what Abraham experienced and what Romans 4:20 talks about. 

It’s Jesus showing up, throwing his arms out, and saying, “Tada!” The Bible says that if we seek Him we will find Him, and I want to encourage you to go after the heart of Jesus Himself because the best thing that could happen is for you and I to have an apocalypse now.

Declaration: The veil has been removed. I have full access to God the Father and to the Lord Jesus Christ. I am empowered by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit! I hear and recognize the voice of the Good Shepherd and a stranger’s voice I will not follow! In Jesus’ name, amen!

FLOOD

TODAY’S PROPHETIC NUMBERS

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV): And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

FLOOD

The drought that affected Texas beginning somewhere around 2008 crept up on us through the years like a slow-cooking brisket. It was terrible. Our creeks dried up. Our ponds went dry. The rivers quit flowing, and our lakes, well, I had never seen anything like it. Then May of 2015 happened. 

Thirty-five trillion gallons: that’s how much rain the Lone Star State had in May alone, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. It was enough to cover the whole state up to nearly eight inches deep. The wettest May in recorded history. Texas went from drought-ridden to flowing with more than enough water in just one month. 

Just like that, in our dry and barren places, God Almighty is more than willing and capable of meeting our needs—abundantly and more than we could even think to ask! “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” – Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)

Declaration: Jesus, You are my source and my strength. I can trust in You because You will never leave nor forsake me. It is the Father’s good pleasure to give me the Kingdom, and I will see the goodness of God in the land of the living. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

FEARLESS

1 John 4:18 (NKJV): There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

FEARLESS

I believe that the way of Jesus Christ is as Erwin McManus puts it, “a barbaric and dangerous way.” When God calls us, He calls us to go out on a limb into risky, hazardous, and vulnerable places. When we play it safe, we give up relevance and become stagnant. I am authentically afraid of just spinning my wheels. I am not the lobster in the tank that just wants to blend in. Friends, neither are you.

King Jesus returns and steps foot on terra firma as the Commander of the armies of the Lord. Guess who’s with Him? You and I! Jesus didn’t only redeem us from sin, hell, and the grave. He caused you and I to be more than conquerors and empowered us to become the sons of God! We’re no longer bound by sin, and we’re no longer subject to the paralysis of fear—all thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ!

Declaration: Jesus, You have paid the price for me to be fearless in the face of fearful things. You have empowered me to do hard things and to overcome them! I will receive the crown of life because You have made me an overcomer, and a conqueror of the things that would torment me.

Matthew 4:17 (NKJV): From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

THE KINGDOM IS AT HAND

The arrival of Jesus brought forth a new understanding of what it meant to relate to God the Father and His Kingdom. At His birth, Jesus announced that “God is with us” – Matthew 1:23 NKJV, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” With His prayer, He declared we are to address God Almighty as our Father, Matthew 6:9 NKJV, “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.” And at the end of His life, in John 19:30 He proclaimed that “It is finished.”

Our Lord Jesus Christ wanted us to understand that God the Father has drawn near to His people. It’s His goodness that draws us into repentance, drawing closer to Him. Along with the new covenant, the new wine that Jesus preached, came access to the Father and His Kingdom in a brand new way.

Now, following in the steps of Jesus, the Firstborn among many brethren, we can seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness. Knowing that when we seek, we will find. When we ask, it will be given to us, and when we knock, the door opens to us. We’ve got a good Father, and it’s His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom!

Declaration: Father, I will draw near to You because You have drawn near to me. I choose to live in faith and confidence that Your promises to me and my family are Yes, and amen. Thank You for open access to the Kingdom! Lead me to be a catalyst for things on earth to look a lot more like heaven than they look like hell. In Jesus’ name, amen!

THE PLAN FOR PARTNERSHIP

16 – The Love Of God

1 John 4:16 (NKJV) And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

THE PLAN FOR PARTNERSHIP

God could demand your love, but He doesn’t. Love demanded is not love. He could demand your obedience, but He doesn’t. His will for your life, His heart for you, is like His love for you. He wants your permission and involvement.

Yes, God Almighty is looking for you to partner with Him. You can’t just say, “If it’s a God thing, it will happen. If it is not, it won’t,” especially as you and I tend to get in His way.

Here is what’s real about partnership: you can find your identity, purpose, and destiny through many avenues – all connected to the incredible heart of God. Here are just a few ways to get with His program.

1. Praise and worship as a weapon
2. Stewarding environments
3. Declarations and decrees made
4. Obtaining the mind of Christ
5. Going after the power of binding and loosing
6. Be connected to the right people for Kingdom advancement
7. Principles of pulling and casting down

There is also the word of your testimony and so much more. In short, you and I must cooperate with God by being sold out to His heart because He reveals it to us in any situation.

That’s still easier said than done. As human beings, we tend to jump on the defense when life brings trials. That is when our faith and everything we’ve learned ought to kick into high gear. Non-Christians are watching us to see how we will react to this or that. The good news is, so is God.

Luke 10:19 (NKJV) Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

We tend to focus on the serpents in this scripture, but if you read it, it also says we have power over all the enemy’s power. That power is a partnership with the Holy Spirit.

Do you know His plan? Get with the program and go after God’s will for your life.

Declaration: Father God, Thank You for Your unmerited love for me. The joy and comfort of knowing You have gone ahead of me and cleared my path is overwhelming. Lord, I choose to partner with You. Help me to love You with the measure You love me.

JESUS IS ALIVE, Y’ALL!

1 Corinthians 15:4 (NKJV): And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. JESUS IS ALIVE, Y’ALL!

Brothers and Sisters, lend me your new ear to hear what I am telling you – Jesus is Alive, Y’all! Hallelujah! Many of you may know that Jesus rose on the third day, but many do not act like you know it.

Believers in King Jesus know in their hearts and minds that Jesus died for them and rose on the third day, but they do not work in the spiritual giftings He gave them through the Holy Spirit.

You have the power to do everything King Jesus did during His time on this earth. You have the authority of Jesus Christ, and because of that, you have His Dunamis Power! How awesome is that!

Matthew 10:8 (NKJV) Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

Man, I love me some King Jesus, and you and I will always walk in the fear of the Lord because He has given us freedom from death and eternal life. You need to take that authority of God and believe in Him. What you speak forth, God will do if you are walking in the fear of the Lord.

1 John 3:22 (NKJV) And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

Declaration: I have all authority through the Holy Spirit and will speak with that authority. God will answer because I walk in fear of the Lord.

RIVER OF LIFE

14 – Generational Promises and The Fear Of The Lord

John 4:14 (NKJV): But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

RIVER OF LIFE

Imagine that fountain of life that keeps flowing and flowing. It never runs out, never turned off. It springs up in you when you pray or at the point of your need. That river from God will sustain you in this life and the next life.

Psalm 36:9-10 (NKJV) 9 For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. 10 Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.

There will be people in heaven waiting for you. Family members, friends, and people you prayed with or witnessed to or brought them to know King Jesus. You will be happy for all of eternity singing praises to God!

Revelation 22:1-5 (NIV) Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. 3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. 4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

Declaration: I will let the word light my path and guide my feet, keeping me on the narrow path to eternal life. I will share the wonderful eternal life that King Jesus gives to all.

OUR STRENGTH COMES FROM THE LORD

When we hear about wars and rumors of wars and the enemy at every corner, the world has good reason to worry. Without King Jesus, they would have no assurance of anything and live in hopelessness. We, as Christians, have all of heaven backing us, and we can confidently say, “Whom shall I fear?”

Psalm 27: 1-3 (NKJV) The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.

Living under the shadow of the All Mighty, where there is peace and safety, is essential for your life. Where you do not have to fear the deceases and disasters. You will look with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. God is a just God, and He fights for you!

Psalm 18:29-32 (NIV) 29 With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. 30 As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. 31 For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? 32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.

Declaration: I will take refuge under King Jesus. At that great and powerful name, every demon must flee. No attacks from the enemy will affect me because God protects me!
