BEAR ONE ANOTHER’S BURDENS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I have given you My heart – a heart that breaks for the lost and hurting. Bear their burdens just as I bear yours. Your weakness makes you strong because a broken heart makes you available to do My will!

BEAR ONE ANOTHER’S BURDENS

The book of Jeremiah is a prophetic book about the burden bearing side of Jesus. In Isaiah’s encounter with the seraphim in the throne room of God, this is the face of the ox.

Jeremiah is known as the weeping prophet. He’s the brother that cries all the time. While that would have gotten him beat up on the playground at most any elementary school in America, Jesus doesn’t mind all those tears.

A broken and a contrite heart—These, O God, You will not despise. – Psalms 51:17

There’s a way you can only know God through a broken heart. The Bible says He will draw near to the broken hearted. There’s something about a heart that’s been shattered and vulnerable that God cannot resist.

It’s where He can best be seen as a good, kind and loving Father. And what does a father do for his children? He bears their burdens. He takes the blows. He does the work. He takes the responsibility, and as he does, he protects and loves on his kids.

That’s what Father God is like. He wants to take care of you – provide for all your needs. But many of you have the “I can do it myself” attitude Adam and Eve fell victim to. You don’t think you need God. Trouble is, you’re not Him, so you need to stop kidding yourself.

Stop protecting your heart. Let it get broken by the poor, the widow, the orphan, the seeker. Let the sick and hurting bring you to tears. Cry for those so lost in their sin – so distant from God’s love – they cannot see how badly they need Him.

Weep with those who weep, just as Jesus wept when His heart was broken. God can use a broken heart to accomplish much for the Kingdom. Bear someone’s burdens today.

AFRAID OF A FIGHT?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I know the pain of rejection and persecution. When you are persecuted for doing good in My Name, I feel that pain with you. Continue to love people and testify to My truth despite the rejection of men. You are fighting the right battle and I am proud of you!

AFRAID OF A FIGHT?

Even though my persona is that I’m very thick-skinned, I’m going to be very transparent. I have a hard time dealing with the hatred that comes against me, my friends, and the Body of Christ today.

“Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.” – 1 John 3:13

Even though Jesus warned persecution was coming to every drop-dead, sold out Jesus freak of this generation, I’ve not done well with the stack of hate mail I get every week.

I laugh at it, make fun of it, and I tell people about it, but privately I’ve had a lot of problems dealing with it. You know, I don’t know how to answer a lot of the hatred slung my way because there’s no place in our society to answer it.

A good example is sports hero Tim Tebow and how he’s hated. Just hated. The mob against him is basically saying, “How dare you be a Christian!” In America today, it’s “cool” to hate on Jesus-freaks.

As we deal with this post-Christian nation and the general collapse of our society today, I pray all the time, “Lord, please give me a voice and the language to answer that,” and “Lord, tell me the stance I need to take.” I need to know because I’m a Texan and I love to fight.

Because of this, if I’m not careful, I’ll be fighting on the wrong front. It’s hard to win when you’re on the wrong battlefield, so I want to fight the right battles. I don’t want to fight the wrong battles, but worse yet, I do not want to be guilty of not fighting at all.

So, as part of this tribe of end times Jesus warriors, strap on the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth and the shoes of peace. Pick up that shield of faith and swing that sword of the Spirit of Truth and get to work! It’s the truth that sets people free. That’s the right battlefield!

TAKING POSSESSION

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I am jealous FOR you. I do not want to share your affection and devotion with another. That is why you’ve been taken out of the world that so early entangles. You are part of My family. Enjoy the freedom of being Mine.

TAKING POSSESSION

If you’re going to have kids, one thing you’ll discover is that they’re weird. At first it’s offensive. Know this: your kids aren’t going to be like you. They have a mind, talents and a destiny all their own apart from you. That’s a tough pill to swallow.

You learn to love those things about them over time. It’s like that with Father God. The Lord does not hate your humanity. Jesus is so amazing. He just has such grace for you. He likes you. He doesn’t just love you, He actually likes you and me.

He has great plans for all His kids and setting us apart for the family business is just one of those amazing plans. Check this out…

“But I have said to you, “You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the Lord your God, who has separated you from the peoples.” – Leviticus 20:24

It’s amazing, in this one verse God says, “I’m separating the land from these people and I’m giving it to you to possess. I’m also separating you from the world so the world cannot possess you, but I can possess you.”

A big part of you being possessed by the Holy Spirit is you possessing something else that the devil use to occupy. Being separated from a world that follows satan has its advantages. However, many run right back to the world. They immerse themselves in the drama and wonder why life gets rough.

That’s because you’re out of alignment for your assignment. That great big destiny and all the weirdo talents and traits God implanted in you only work when you’re following Him. Parents, if that’s a picture of your kiddo, don’t despair. God is faithful even when your child is not.

You have an inheritance in them. Never give up on that.

JUST LIKE THAT!

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

You are My beloved child. I Am well pleased with your faith in My ability to lead you and care for your needs. Let me show you what the Kingdom is like. Each revelation is meant to encourage you to your expected end.

JUST LIKE THAT

The Gospel is so simple, folks often miss it. They don’t get it. What’s more, God’s word says He does this on purpose.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. – 1 Corinthians 1:27

Why would God do that? Pride. Ours, not His.

One of the ways God made things simple in His word was by teaching in parables. What is a parable? King Jesus is the master at teaching deep, spiritual, kingdom truths by paralleling them to something everybody recognizes.

This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.” – Matthew 13:13

Jesus loved to point out everyday occurrences – like a farmer planting seeds – and say, “You see that? The Kingdom of Heaven is just like that!” He made it easy. We make it hard.

Hear me on this: You need to be hearing God speak through the parables going on in your everyday life. There are situations going on where you instantly know there’s a word in that for you – that God is speaking a word to you.

Through the timing of something, how things line up, through understanding how things work – that’s a Kingdom parable! What’s cool is, when Jesus is speaking a word to you concerning a subject, you can’t get away from it. It pops up again and again.

Do you see and hear the parables Jesus is speaking to you? If you don’t, ask Him to open your eyes to see and your ears to hear, just like a child asks mama and daddy to read them a story at bedtime. Humble your thinking and you’ll start to recognize, “The Kingdom of Heaven is just like that!”

IN PLAIN SIGHT

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Your enemy may prowl around like a roaring lion, but I am the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. I will hide you in the palm of My hand where you will achieve My will. I will not be defeated.

IN PLAIN SIGHT

For my money, the account of Moses is the most fascinating in the Bible. The way God out-maneuvers the enemy is so awesome!

First off, the devil is out to kill the deliverer so he puts Pharaoh up to killing all the Hebrew male children in the name of “population control.” If he kills the promised one who will deliver the Hebrews from slavery, God’s plan will be stopped.

But the devil never counted on Jacobed, Moses’ mother. She builds a basket of reeds and calls it an “ark” – a “safe box where the Presence of the Lord is.” She puts the baby in and strategically places it in the Nile by the palace.

“And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him. Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it.” – Exodus 2:4-5

When Pharaoh’s daughter comes down to take a bath, it’s a big occasion. There’s an entourage because there are predators in the river and the slaves had to walk the bank. Why? To check for crocodiles because they were used to eating humans from having Jewish children for lunch.

“And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So, she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children. Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you?” And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go.” – Exodus 2:6-8

Did you catch that? Not only did God, through Jacobed, hide the deliverer in the house of the demonic man sworn to kill him, He rewarded Moses’ mother by giving her the ability to care for him as a small child, know her son was safe and get paid for it!

God can do the same for you! He can hide you in plain sight. He can cause compassion to spring up from unexpected sources and reward your faithfulness in crazy cool ways.  God’s ways are not ours. They are so much higher!

EVERLASTING

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I placed the beacon of eternity in your heart. Because you were seeking Me, you found Me and your way home. You are made in My image to be eternal. I will be with you from everlasting to everlasting.

EVERLASTING

I love thinking of Jesus as a warrior king – the Lion of the Tribe of Judah jumping onto the battlefield to slay the enemy on my behalf.

Isaiah loved that picture of Jesus too, despite living in a generation before the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. I believe Isaiah got a good look at Jesus in heaven’s throne room and his prophesies prove that.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.                 – Isaiah 9:6

This is all about majesty and kingship. In fact, in Isaiah 32:1, he calls Jesus a righteous King. Just to make sure we understand how strong and courageous the Lion of the tribe of Judah is, Isaiah gives us seven “everlastings” that come with the King and His amazing kingdom.

Everlasting strength (26:4)

    Everlasting judgments (33:14)

        Everlasting Joy (35:10)

            Everlasting Salvation (45:17)

                 Everlasting Kindness (54:8)

                     Everlasting Covenant (55:3)

                           Everlasting Light (60:19)

When you let Jesus rule your life as King, this everlasting, never fading, never stopping, never diminishing love and power is yours, because you’re His.

Do you know Him like that? Do you want to? Come quickly Lord Jesus!

BOARD THIS BATTLESHIP

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

Persecution is not coming to this generation, it is already here. Because you are Mine, you will be persecuted the same way I was. You will be called a liar, drunkard and blasphemer. Do not fear! I am with you and I know the truth. You are free!

BOARD THIS BATTLESHIP

As believers living in this day God has trusted us with, we have to be willing to stand where Jesus Himself stands.

Now, you need to understand this is the truth about the day and age you and I live in: You will be labeled the bad guy if you stand for truth.

You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. – Matthew 10:22

This statement, made over 2,000 years ago, is so true today. But wait! There’s more. Jesus says something absolutely amazing a few verses later.

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.” – Matthew 10:24

Translate that as Jesus saying, “You’re no better than me and I’m persecuted, so you should expect to be persecuted too.”

Unfortunately, when it comes to persecution, we’ve turned our churches into “cruise ships” instead of “battleships.” As soon as we begin to feel anything uncomfortable, we assume Lord Jesus has left the boat. Here’s the truth: Jesus isn’t even on that boat.

Jesus is never on the cruise ship. Never. He’s the Captain of the Lord’s Armies and He’s a flat-out warrior. He’s on the battleship called the Church fighting a very real enemy for the souls of lost men and women. That’s where you and I are supposed to be too.

You see, you and I are the Church – the Bride of Christ – and we’re a warrior bride. When the going gets rough and the enemy deals us a financial blow, sickness, broken relationship or straight up persecution because we’re standing on the truth, we’re in the right place.

Who told you God wants you to be comfortable? Who told you that you are in the center of God’s will if everything is going right and you have no problems? Those are lies from the pit of hell designed to keep you on the sidelines.

Get in the fight! If Jesus was persecuted for telling the people of His generation the truth, so will you and I. It’s time toughen up and board this battleship!

PLANT YOUR FLAG

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I am the Captain of the Lord’s armies and you were designed for battle – a warrior fashioned in My Own image. Take up your sword – the Word – and go after more territory. Push the enemy back into the hole he crawled out of. You are mighty!

PLANT YOUR FLAG

You guys know I’m all about upgrade, right? Upgrade is the kingdom part of me that says, “I don’t have to live in a wilderness experience where everything is exactly the same for forty years, because I’ve learned to depend on God. Now I can go into the place where everything is about partnership and advancement.”

Partnership and advancement. That is what Promised Land living is all about.

When it comes to partnership, it’s all about living life with Jesus. Jesus is Immanuel –  “God with us.” Now that’s the perfect picture of partnership.

Living life with Jesus is what living in the Promised Land is all about. And can I just tell you something about Jesus living with you? He doesn’t hate your humanity. He likes the human side of you.

He likes the side of you that drives other people crazy. He created us as human beings, but here’s the deal: we are new creatures in Him.

It’s not just about you being human or even you being godly. It’s about you being a godly human now. That’s what Jesus is, amen. He is with you right now, partnering with you for Kingdom advancement.

Advance into what, you ask? Better things! Ministries, mission trips, fearlessness to testify to strangers, more territory to influence others, prophetic gifts, financial prosperity to sow back into the Kingdom work that floats your boat. All of these things are better!

Are you looking for better? Do you want to advance into a fighting machine that takes on hell with a water pistol and wins? The devil should get up every morning and groan when he hears your voice, “Oh, no! They’re talking about Jesus again…”

Jesus wants to partner with you in that place. It makes Him smile when He hears the enemy crying like a baby because you are advancing through his territory. Plant your flag and tell that cosmic punk to get lost in Jesus’ name!

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. – Luke 10:19

WHOSE AGENDA?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

I know the plans I have for you. You are created in My image to be eternal and to love the things I love and hate the things I hate. I see these things starting to well up in you and it brings Me great joy to see My resemblance in you.

WHOSE AGENDA?

There are some really cool lessons on leadership, Kingdom living and just how to manage your own life in the Bible. You can see it in specific people God used for His purposes.

King David is all about Godly objectives. Moses is all about Kingdom strategies. While these are cool, the Bible says Moses knew the ways of God. Then it says “the steps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord.” Those are Kingdom tactics.

Right there you have objectives, strategies and tactics. If it sounds like you’re a soldier preparing for a war, you are! But there’s one important question you need to ask yourself before going into battle, or heaven forbid, you decide to sit it out.

What is your Kingdom agenda? Because if you’re in love with Jesus, learning Jesus, and if you’re looking at His heart, the things you’re wanting will quickly become Kingdom things because of the influence of the Lord Jesus in your life.

Jesus has an agenda for freedom, mercy, forgiveness, restoration, redemption, truth and most of all LOVE. Is your agenda lined up with His in any of these ways? It’s a good thing to ask yourself.

By the way, you’re not ungodly for having an agenda to go to college, get a better job, start a business or get a bigger house. Just make sure they are also Kingdom agendas. By the way, don’t be scared that they’re not, because what the Father wants for you is even better than what you want for you.

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. – Proverbs 19:21

This is the bottom line: Never leave the Kingdom for your own agenda. Never.

And what’s great is, you probably don’t have to. Jesus will meet you in that place if you’re seeking Him and His will – or purpose – for your life. Take a look at His agenda above again and His will for you will become crystal clear.

BETTER ISN’T EASIER

TODAY’S PROPHETIC WORD

In these darkening days, it’s easy to get discouraged. Instead of feeling defeated, change your perspective. Romans 8:31 declares that if I Am for you, who can be against you? Know that I keep my promises.

BETTER ISN’T EASIER

It’s easy to think things will never get better. It’s also easy to think that easy automatically equals better. It does not.

In the book of Hebrews, God Almighty is known as the God of better things. In Romans chapter 4, it talks about Abraham who, when it came to having a son and leaving a lasting legacy, had thought for 50 years it was never going to get any better.

God showed up and all that changed.

Who against hope, believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, so shall your seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.                – Romans 4:18

This is the scriptural basis for somebody who tends to dwell on defeat. Knowing the promises of God for your life is the answer to the crippling thought pattern that “things will never get better” – aka depression.

Those five words are a lie from the pit of hell. Don’t buy into them. Instead, buy into hope!

If you are following God, you are following Him into better places. Things are getting better. They may not be getting easier because better is never easier. Better is always harder.

So don’t look for something easier. Look for something better and to hell with the devil who whispers his lies that you are not loved, you are defeated and things will never get better.
