ARE YOU MOVING FORWARD?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Follow Jesus with all your heart, mind and soul. He who is faithful will accomplish His Word and promises to you. Dare to see and hear His instructions. If you do, you won’t be disappointed!

MAPPED OUT MOMENTUM

Remember that when you are pursuing God and His divine purpose for your life, the law of momentum applies.

This Kingdom principle works like this: progressive people get more progressive. Giving people get more generous. Loving people get more power to love, and people who chase after wisdom and knowledge will see revelation after revelation. The Bible puts it this way…

For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. – Matthew 13:12

If you sit around and say, “I’m helpless and can’t make it. I have no control over my life,” God has a wilderness for you where He will love you and help you to be a survivor.

Instead of saying, “Thank you and amen,” say, “YIKES!”

Trust Jesus. Go after the passion He has put in your heart because He will empower you with supernatural abilities to accomplish that vision. He will make you an overcomer!

Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory. – Deuteronomy 11:24

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO STOP LIVING IN DEFEAT. BUILD MOMENTUM BY STEPPING OUT IN FAITH TO CHASE AFTER GOD AND HIS PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE.

WHO IS THE GREATEST?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Displace the lies of the enemy with God’s truth and advance the Kingdom in your own thought life! God knows who you are in Christ. Do you?

WHO IS THE GREATEST?

When it comes to boxing, most would agree that Cassius Clay, aka Muhammad Ali, is the greatest heavyweight boxer ever.

The Muhammad Ali of the 1960s was certainly the fastest heavyweight ever. In the May 5, 1969 edition of Sports Illustrated, his jab was measured with an omegascope. Ali could smash a balsa board 16.5 inches away in 4/100 of a second, which is also the blink of an eye!

“I am the greatest!” he told his opponents and the world. “I am the greatest and you’re going down! Can’t stop it. You can’t stop it. Here it comes,” he would say just before sticking a lighting fast jab, then landing an unstoppable hook.

Though it’s obvious Ali was not a Christ follower, he reminds me of something about the kingdom of God. You see, anyone who starts hanging out with Jesus, no matter their history, begins to contemplate their own greatness. After a while in His presence, they become willing to fight for it. The disciples did, and often!

Today, I hereby inform you that it is my humble opinion that I am God’s favorite and can do anything. I am also here to tell you that the bug for better is contagious. Catch it, even if you have to catch it from me! Once you start hanging around Jesus and His sold-out followers, you can argue with me over who is the coolest cat alive. Jesus has a funny way of empowering each of us to believe that we are the greatest.

Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest. – Luke 9:46

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO START LISTENING TO WHAT JESUS SAYS ABOUT YOU. QUIT LISTENING TO THE LIES OF THE DEVIL AND KNOW THAT YOUR CREATOR THINKS YOU ARE PRETTY AWESOME

CALLING ALL WARRIORS

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

God is setting you up to be the good guy. Stand firm and be prepared. Bring out your warrior skills to keep the enemy at bay.

CALLING ALL WARRIORS!

Persecution is coming in America against those of us who follow good and demonstrate God’s goodness.

Notice I didn’t say persecution was coming to America? That’s because it’s coming from America against its own Christian citizens. Look at the news, social media and entertainment. We are already being called evildoers when, in fact, we are not.

Let’s get one thing straight – the good guys are warriors!

The enemy, and those under his dark influence, needs to defame Christians so he can remove any influence we have over the culture. Is it maddening? Yes, but this is part of the end times program. It’s not the fun part, but it is necessary. Why? Because we need to be set apart from the world and firmly planted as the good guys.

We are close to the return of Jesus. As the time shortens, people will be deceived, and a big part of that deception, the Bible warns, is that the world will call good “evil” and evil will be called “good.”

A quick example is the growing popularity of the TV program “Lucifer.” Aimed at tweens, teens and 20-somethings, the devil-himself is portrayed as a handsome, charming and downright likable guy who just wants to give being good a shot. In fact, he’s been misjudged all these years and truly wishes to change. Evil being swapped for good right before millions of eyes.

People are already falling for these lies!

Now, that means the good guys – you, me and all the other drop-dead sold out Jesus freaks – will become outcasts. Noah can testify, that’s what happens when society doesn’t have any value for truth.

And so it is today. The world is celebrating evil more and more. Soon, it will hate good and love evil. The antagonism against good will grow exponentially – the Bible is very clear about that. Should you circle your wagons and protect yourself and your family?

No! You need to fight for the souls of those who persecute you. You not only need to continue doing good in Jesus’ name, step up your efforts to love people into the kingdom! The time is short. Lock and load your spiritual weapons because war is upon us!

And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. – 1 Peter 3:13-16

FEAR NOT! TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO STRAP ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD AND STAND AGAINST THE COMING TIDE OF EVIL. FIND NEW WAYS TO DEMONSTRATE GOD’S GOODNESS TO OVERCOME AND SET THE CAPTIVES FREE!

WHO IS IN CONTROL?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

God is sending His angel armies to fight on your behalf! Know that the battle is the Lord’s and rest in Him.

IN HIS HANDS

Can I tell you, without making you mad, that angels are not chubby white babies with wings and harps? Here’s another shocker: when good people die, they do not – I repeat, do not – become angels spreading joy and happiness throughout heaven.

Angels are God’s special creation. According to the Bible, angels are warriors and they are chomping at the bit to kill somebody!

When Peter went to defend Jesus with a sword, Jesus told him, “I don’t need you to defend me. I have twelve legions of angels at my disposal any time I call for them.”

Heck, who needs 12 legions when 2 Kings 19 records a single angel killing 185,000 Assyrians?

So if there are 6,000 soldiers in a legion, 12 legions is 72,000 soldiers. If one angel is powerful enough to kill 185,000 people, do the math: 12 legions could kill 13 billion people! It is estimated that the world’s population at the time of Christ was only 250 million people. The population of the world didn’t even reach 1 billion until 1804!

The point is, if 12 legions of angels could take out a minimum of 13 billion people, Jesus held the safety of the entire world in His hands. He still does.

That truly gives new meaning to the children’s Sunday School song, “He’s got the whole world in His hands,” and it’s a very good place to be.

So make sure you understand that angels are powerful warriors that war in the heavens on our behalf. Need supernatural deliverance? Ask Jesus to unleash an angel to fight for you when Satan is breathing down your neck. They’re just waiting for the command to war against the enemy for you!

Also know that Jesus is in control today, just as much as He was in control in the Garden of Gethsemane. Fear not!

But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish[ a ] by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?” – Matthew 26: 52-54

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KNOW GOD IS IN CONTROL. HIS ANGELS ARE PREPARED TO BATTLE THE ENEMY ON YOUR BEHALF! PARTNER WITH GOD BY PRAYING HIS WORD AND RELEASING ANGELIC ASSIGNMENT THROUGH POWERFUL DECLARATIONS.

DO YOU RECOGNIZE YOUR PROGRESS?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

God has already given you the victory, so walk in it! As you walk it out you will take more territory for the Kingdom.

THREE STAGES OF PROCESS

The yellow brick road to God’s greater
things is not a product of random circumstance. What I’m about to tell you goes
against the grain of our fast food get-it-now generation.

Are you ready for it? God is a God of
process. Strategic, specific progression.

Yes, there is a process He takes us
through. We have to submit to it if we want Him to perfectly complete the process
in our life. Those three stages are:

EgyptThe WildernessThe Promised Land

The book of Exodus is a great starting
place for you to understand this progression.

In Egypt, the Hebrews were slaves. What
are you enslaved by? Finances, a loveless marriage, anger, addiction, poor
health, a past you can’t shake, lies that continue to follow you, a job that
robs your soul? When you’re in Egypt, you’re digging a great big hole for
yourself. God is still with you and wants to deliver you, but you have to put
the shovel down!

In the Wilderness, the Hebrews were free,
but they had to learn how to trust in God for their provision and build a
relationship with Him. They failed miserably. They feared they would starve to
death, so God provided manna every morning. They grumbled. They complained.
They feared the unknown. Are you like the children of Israel? Do you long to go
back to Egypt because it is familiar?  Do
you see the miracles God works in your life, but still doubt His power? Getting
out of the Wilderness and into the Promised Land takes faith and action. You
have to step forward into God’s promises.

In the Promised Land, the Hebrews trusted
God and took the land He had set aside for them. They learned that when you
advance into new territory, you don’t fight for victory, you fight from
victory. They no longer needed manna because they were ready to step into
God’s promises and bear fruit of their own. Are you bearing fruit? Are you
walking in God’s promises?

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LOOK AT YOUR LIFE.
WHERE ARE YOU – EGYPT, THE WILDERNESS OR THE PROMISED LAND? NO MATTER WHERE YOU
ARE, TALK TO GOD AND ASK HIM FOR UPGRADE, THEN MOVE FORWARD!

THE CATALYST OF TRANSFORMATION

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Commit to doing good and sharing the love of the Lord. Stay the course on your Kingdom commitment. God loves your faithfulness!

THE CATALYST OF TRANSFORMATION

The Bible tells it straight up: faith without action is dead.

For goodness to be a catalyst for kingdom transformation in a person’s life, there needs to be action. We need to take that action.

You and I as Christians need to do things that matter. When you do something good, do it with excellence and make is sustainable so that goodness continues on.

Years ago when Leanna and I started bringing groceries to a group of about 70 senior citizens, I could have gotten tired or distracted. I could have said, “Let somebody else do it. I’ve done my part.”

I didn’t. That food ministry became sustainable because I didn’t fall out or lose focus. And today, OpenDoor Food Bank not only feeds thousands of people each year, I believe we do it with excellence, the same way Jesus would – no questions asked.

We don’t shame people, or judge them. We don’t make them prove their financial need or scoff at their nice car. We don’t know how long they’re going to have that car. We welcome, bless and pray for every person who comes to us for help, plus we load their car with some of the best food around.

It’s time you made a difference and made it much, much bigger than you. In the short time we have on this earth, you and I should make changes that far outlast all of us. Changes that glorify the King of Kings.

Let’s you and I remain faithful and committed to working toward real, tangible transformation through the goodness of God. Let’s advertise His goodness in ways that nobody has dreamed of. Let’s take action!

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. – Galatians 6:9-10

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO ACT ON THE IMPULSE TO DO GOOD. COMMIT TO GOODNESS IN A BIG WAY SO ALL WILL SEE THE GOODNESS OF CHRIST.

WHAT ARE YOU CHASING AFTER?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You are known in Heaven as a seeker of God. The Lord has His eyes upon you. Seek Him because He wants to be found by you. He is not hiding because He wants to stay hidden. He is hiding because seeking qualifies you for upgrade.

THE HOUND OF HEAVEN

God loves it when you pursue Him because by chasing after His presence in your life, you are also chasing after upgrade.

You and I need to follow the example of our Lord in being what C.S. Lewis calls “the hound of heaven.” You see, Father God chased you, and called you blessed and holy before you were even saved. He said you were His before you ever cared anything about Him.

So be the hound of heaven. Here’s a practical example: If you think you are called to go on a mission trip, don’t wait until you have the money to go after it. Get a passport. Study the nation. Learn a new language. Get your shots.

If you are called to write a book, start writing a blog. Go to book signings, meet authors and get advice. Do whatever you can to step into the territory God is giving you.

Oh, that makes God happy!

The most famous verse in the Bible that speaks of God having a unique calling for each of our lives is found in Jeremiah. You and I know this one by heart.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. – Jeremiah 29:11

Let’s be honest. You and I love this verse because it’s all about us and the good things God wants for us. But keep reading. There is a catch and it’s called pursuit.

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity… – Jeremiah 29:12-14a

See, you and I need to chase after God in order to find His plan for our future and our hope. You need to call on Him, go and pray to Him, and seek and search for Him with your whole heart. If you do that, the Bible says He will be found by you.

It’s amazing to think that the maker of the universe enjoys playing hide and seek with His kids. Why? To lead us out of the captivity of a useless, selfish, wasted life.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO PURSUE YOUR DESTINY LIKE A HOUND DOG CHASING A FOX. SEEK YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN AND WHEN YOU DO, HE WILL REVEAL HIMSELF TO YOU.

WHAT DOES JESUS LOOK LIKE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Come to Jesus and see His glory, His manifest presence, and you will begin to understand more and more just who He is. He is not hiding from you, but He is revealing Himself to you in ways you could never have imagined.

JESUS JUST LOOKS GOOD

I love the way the Bible describes Jesus and how awesome He is. I mean, He really is the most amazing person ever in the universe.

Just look at the names He is called and what He calls Himself…

The First and Last, the Alpha and Omega

“Alpha” and “Omega” are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. This means He is the beginning of all things articulated and the very end of all things expressed.

The Word

John chapter 1 tells us that before leaving His home in Heaven to become a man, Jesus’ name was not Jesus. It was “The Word.” The Word is the creator side of the Trinity who spoke everything into existence. His voice – His name – literally make molecules into matter. That’s a mind-blower for sure!

The Light

He is described as the Bright and Morning Star in Revelation, the Sun of Righteousness in Malachi and the Rising Sun in Luke. John calls Jesus the true Light, as does Isaiah. Darkness cannot compete with Him.

The Righteous One

Acts 3:14 and Jeremiah 26:6 are among the verses that tout Jesus’ righteousness.

The I Ams

There are times when Jesus describes Himself. These are called the “I Am” sayings of the Gospel of John. When Moses asked the voice in the burning bush on Mt. Sinai its name, the response was simple and direct: “I Am who I  Am.” He wasn’t created — He just is! How cool is that? It’s also cool that He gave us other ways to know Him by declaring that I Am…

The Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Gate, the Good Shepherd, the Resurrection and the Life, the Way, the Truth and the Life, and the True Vine.

The facets and nuances of who and what Jesus is, is like skipping a stone across the ocean. It’s impossible. But when you start to dig into who He is to you — how He works in your life and how He speaks to you — you will find yourself advancing to new heights.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DIG INTO JESUS AND EXPERIENCE THE NEXT LEVEL OF HIS GOODNESS. FIND OUT WHO HE IS TO YOU AND HOW HE WORKS AND SPEAKS IN YOUR LIFE. WRITE IT DOWN AND MEDITATE ON IT. YOU’LL BE GLAD YOU DID!

BLESSED ARE THE FLEXIBLE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

Today is the day to set yourself in a posture of flexibility. Your flexibility when things don’t go your way will bless others, and in doing so, you will also be blessed. God loves your flexibility!

BLESSED ARE THE FLEXIBLE

The above words were a hard lesson for me to learn. I had been a pretty rigid guy with strong opinions until those words challenged me to evaluate my heart.

You see, God is looking for you to learn to roll with the punches, because life throws a lot of them, especially when you’re trying to advance the Kingdom. The devil is looking for an opportunity to sucker punch you away from bringing heaven to earth, so he messes with your plans.

The next time all hell breaks loose and your well-planned day, event, mission trip, Sunday School lesson or your outreach doesn’t go the way you planned, don’t throw a fit and quit! Don’t blame others or stomp around making angry excuses. Bless yourself and others by being flexible.

Look at the pros and cons to flexibility:

Pro: You can have peace in any situation.

Con: You give up control of that situation.

Pro: You remain an effective witness even though a situation didn’t go the way you planned it.

Con: You will look bad and be a poor witness if you throw a fit or get ugly.

Pro: You keep a good relationship with Godly people who do things well.

Con: You don’t get to chew somebody up or verbally slap them around.

Pro: You remain in the presence of the Holy Spirit and don’t run Him off through “corrupt communication.”

Con: Your feelings are not known to all present.

That list of cons haunted me when I first wrote them down. How many times I had been guilty! But that’s not me anymore. I know when things fall apart and don’t go as I had planned, something better will come out of it!

How about you? Could you use more peace and an effective witness through learning to roll with the punches?

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. – Ephesians 4:29-32

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LEARN TO BE FLEXIBLE. WHEN THE UNEXPECTED TRIES TO RUIN YOUR PLANS OR MAKE YOU ANGRY, SEE HOW GOD CAN MAKE YOU A BLESSING IN THE MESS BY ASKING FOR PEACE. BE PREPARED TO BE FLEXIBLE: “SEMPER GUMBY.”
