DO YOU HAVE FAITH?
When changes come our way we often blame the enemy if it appears not to line up with our vision. There are times when our direction, led of the Spirit, takes us places only He can justify for our good, or the good of others. The God of all time is not in a hurry…
LEAP OF FAITH
The son of a Baptist pastor, Jonathan Briley walked to work on September 11, 2001. Having grown up working on his daddy’s PA system, he was employed as the sound engineer for the famed Windows of the World restaurant.
So many terrible things happened that day that we cannot forget. Some we want to – the image of the jets slamming into the towers, the flames and smoke.
As the estimated 1,000 souls trapped on the 100-107th floors were trying to move away from the inferno about to engulf them, New Yorkers on the street looked up, their hands over their mouths. One of them was photojournalist Richard Drew, who lived nearby.
No stranger to history, Drew had been one of the four photographers present when Bobby Kennedy was assassinated nearly 40 years earlier. Today, at 9:41 a.m., 56 minutes after the ordeal began, Drew pointed his lens upward and caught the infamous shot of a man free falling. In all, he took 13 pictures of Jonathan Briley as he plunged 1,300 feet to Church Street below.
Amazingly, Briley is vertical, almost casual as he dove head first ala Superman – arms by his side, left leg bent at the knee and his white jacked billowing free against black pants. This is one amazing photograph we wish we’d never seen.
An asthmatic, Briley was forced to escape the smoke. He obviously decided to die flying rather than choking. In a place and time where every option had been taken away from him, he mustered the courage to step out of the heat and into the hands of God.
His older sister, Gwendolyn, said, “Let me tell you how much Jonathan loved God. He trusted Him so much, he jumped 105 stories expecting God to catch him.”
There is so much victory in that, and this victory can be ours as well. No matter the terrible thing you’re facing today, it pales in comparison to what Jonathan Briley faced. Whatever tough decision is staring you down, have the courage to trust God when nothing else makes sense.
So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death shall be swallowed up in victory.”
– 1 Corinthians 15:54
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU MAY FALL, BUT BECAUSE OF YOUR LOVE AND TRUST IN JESUS, YOU WILL RISE AGAIN!

WHAT DO SEEKERS FIND?
TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT
I have not hidden My ways or Myself from you. I Am always present, but you must seek Me – invite Me to be involved with your day. When you look for Me and My benefits, I can bless you.
HIDE AND SEEK
To seek means “to pursue until you see something.” What is it we’re supposed to seek? The Kingdom. The place of “sovereign rule and royal power” where the King has dominion.
When you give God dominion over your life, you’re seeing to it that you give God power and His rightful place in every situation. That’s the “sovereign rule” in the “King-dom” where the King has dominion.
My friend, you need to pursue His power and dominion in every every part of your life – every situation – until you finally see it. You need to go after that in an incredible way.
You know what? Jesus is counting on you to say, “I’m not god, but I know who is” and give Him dominion over your life. Pursue until you see the power of God within your life and let God Almighty rule and reign.
The result of this is Kingdom expansion. To do this, you not only need to get past your offenses, but get past the “I don’t wanna’s.” Offense and “I-don’t wanna” kills people and prevents them from seeing the goodness of God.
Hear me on this: That’s not you! You are going to refuse to get offended. You are going to let things roll off you and not offend you. You are going to get up off the couch and accomplish vision because you’re a seeker and seekers find.
What do seekers find? The Prince of Peace, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. They find Jesus.
And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us… – Acts 17:26-27

WHERE TO RUN
TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT
Where ever you look and see chaos, chances are there is a prisoner of war there. As you move in like a hero to fight, you will see the victory that Jesus died to give you!
WHERE TO RUN
Few people have the compulsion to run into a burning building. Those who do, we call heroes.
God is looking for heroes, because, let’s face it, this earth is a burning building and people are going to hell every day. Meanwhile, we cower in the shadows (what if I get hurt?), ignore the screams (I just don’t know any non-Christians) or pass the buck (there are missionaries for that) on the mess that is this world and the fallen people in it.
But God isn’t afraid of this mess we’ve made for ourselves. Specifically, He’s not afraid of YOUR mess. He has already scaled the flames and saved you from chaos, destruction and death. Determine right now to run to Jesus with your messes instead of running away from Him in shame or fear.
When you no longer run from the Lord, but to Him with your mess, you eventually learn to not run from evil and the messes of this world. That’s where good overcomes evil and the church starts to take on hell with a water pistol!
Running into the messes of this world also means running into the messes of people. One of the church’s biggest mistakes has been to vilify the unsaved as wanton sinners who love darkness and hate light. This is not the truth! The Bible says God doesn’t want anyone to perish!
God sees the unsaved for what they are – prisoners of war. They are POWs in the cosmic battle of Good vs. Evil, Jesus vs. Satan, Heaven vs. hell. We don’t leave POWs to die in chains. We plan and execute a search and rescue mission to free them!
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO SET ASIDE FEAR AND EXCUSES. BE A HERO! SEARCH OUT A POW AND BEGIN YOUR PLAN TO FREE THEM FROM THE DEVIL’S CHAINS.

DO YOU WANT GOD TO PROSPER YOU?
TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT
God sees that you have persevered and is building your character with a Joseph anointing. Continue to choose to serve God and He will prosper you in ways you could never have dreamed!
THE GIFT OF CHARACTER
If you are looking for God to prosper you, you not only need wisdom and favor, but character He can bless.
It does no good to know how to get your dream job, and to have favor with your boss, if you don’t have the character to get up in the morning and go to work when you don’t feel like it. Character is the God-given ability to make the right choice when most people don’t.
Character is working harder than you ever have for your goals, even when you don’t see an immediate payoff. It is doing the job when others shut down and pressing forward when others give up. If you have character, you constantly make things happen.
Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.– Proverbs 10:4
Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.–Proverbs 13:11
Joseph is the best example in the Bible of how God wants to ultimately bless all of us.
When a miracle was required, he believed God and got that miracle. However, the main way he prospered was by being an awesome servant.
Joseph knew a secret a lot of folks don’t. When he was serving Potiphar, he saw it as serving the Lord. In prison and in Pharaoh’s courts, the work he did was for the Lord. You see, his attitude was that he would serve the Lord in every task, so he was successful in everything he did! Nearly 2,000 years later, even Paul recognized this.
Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. – Colossians 3:22-24
Tired of relying on miracles to get you through life, especially in your finances? Have an attitude that nobody can keep you from serving God. Whether you’re flipping burgers, changing diapers, writing a ticket on the side of the highway, digging a ditch or running a major company, do it to serve the Lord.
TODAY IS A GREAT DAY TO ASK THE LORD TO INCREASE YOUR VISION, TO ENLARGE YOUR TERRITORY AND GIVE YOU A SERVANT’S HEART, WISDOM AND FAVOR.

DOES GOD WANT TOO MUCH FROM YOU?
TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT
How much of your life have you given to the Lord? If you think it is too much, step back to see what He has given to you. Make your life a living sacrifice and you will be blessed.
“GOD WANTS TOO MUCH OUT OF ME!”
Ok, this is another lie that Satan likes to whisper in our ear so we won’t go after God’s best for us. He wants us out of the fight, off the mission field and influencing others to follow our sorry attitude.
“So, let me get this straight,” said the young man across my desk. “I quit smoking weed. I moved out of my girlfriend’s house. I don’t have any friends except here at church, and you’re telling me God wants more?”
“Yes.”
“How much more, Pastor Troy?”
“Everything. All of it. He’s after you, boy, and He’s not going to quit.”
Over the years, I have had this conversation with many people, including the good looking fat man in the mirror. We all have a selfish part that wants to tell God to “talk to the hand” when it comes to asking more out of our life. On this subject, we need a right mind.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. – Romans 12:1
Gulp! What does it mean when it says to present your body as a living sacrifice? It means to lay it down and give it up. You may fear going to the trash dumps of Matamoros, Mexico, the OpenDoor Food Bank or the homeless outreach on Skid Row, but the Lord just told you to sacrifice your personal comfort and sometimes, safety, to go there to help the hurting.
It’s really not a big deal. As a matter of fact, it’s only your “reasonable service.” In other words, it’s the sensible, sufficient and inexpensive way to serve the Lord.
So how can God think it’s not a that big a deal to give your entire life to Him? Because He made it so He owns it!

WHERE IS YOUR DETERMINATION?
TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT
You are My beloved. When you seek My face, My ways, and My will for your life, you will find your true self. You were made to be My bride. Meet Me in the secret place and encounter My goodness.
YOUR END SHALL BE PEACE
Are you determined to make your life epic or nominal? Not only is your life a really big deal and needs to be lived well, you need to be well prepared for your big finish.
What I’m saying is this: not only can you live an epic life instead of a nominal life, you can live your life toward an epic finish. You can live knowing you’re going to pass something down that wasn’t passed down to you – or at least a better version of what was passed down to you.
My friend, you want to live life being determined to know how your finish is going to glorify the Lord. You don’t randomly finish well.
It doesn’t just randomly happen that you finish well. People who finish well are bound and determined. They plan out how they’re going to finish and they partner with the Lord to fulfill every step of their identity, purpose, and destiny.
You know, God already has a plan for you to finish well. We all know this verse,
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
The word “thoughts” is interchangeable with “plans” and the Lord has a crazy big plan for you. How do you find it? By tapping into your identity – finding out who He says you are and sticking with it. Once you know who you are, you’ll begin to understand your purpose and that leads to your destiny – your fullness or perfection.
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright; for the end of that man is peace. – Psalms 37:37
Determine your end shall be peace. That’s what glorifies God.

OFF OF THE PAGES
TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT
I am breaking chains where you have been bound, and giving you a spirit of understanding in the knowledge of My ways. Watch as I flood your eyes with light!
OFF OF THE PAGES
There is an arrogant, cerebral bunch among us who actually believe God is confined to their understanding of scripture. I appreciate the fact they have 10 pound heads, but it’s really not very attractive.
Not only is God not limited to our understanding of the scriptures, He is not limited to scripture at all!
The scriptures even say that Jesus did all kinds of thing that are not even recorded in the Bible. The very last verse of, arguably the greatest Gospel, John, says this:
And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen – John 21:25
In other words, God reserves the right to do tons of things not written down, recorded or mapped out! The Bible declares that there are some things God speaks which He doesn’t allow to be written, as they are for the hearer only.
And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down.” – Revelation 10:4
I would never advocate any form of departure from the Bible, so if I am pegging your cringe-meter, dial it down. I’m just saying that you have permission to experience God in a personal, powerful way that is way beyond our limited understanding of scripture.
When the woman with the issue of blood crawled to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, or when the knuckleheads tore apart a roof to lower their paralyzed friend down to for healing, they were not acting within the confines of what was written. Their actions, and their faith, were off the map!
They discovered a part of God’s heart no one had before. Like them, seek Him in a new and personal way and He will not only be found, He will lead you out of captivity.

JESUS IS ALL YOU NEED
TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT
I Am the Bread of Life and the Living Water. With Me, you will be satisfied because I Am good. I never leave you nor forsake you. Come and sup with Me.
ALL YOU NEED
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, which means “House of Bread.” Guys, do you remember the manna that fell from heaven? It was bread that couldn’t be defined or explained. It was supernatural but natural at the same time.
Just like the Bible foretold, the baby born in Bethlehem would be supernatural and natural at the same exact time. He was indescribable because He was 100 percent God and 100 percent man at the same time.
Jesus was a natural piece of “bread” that didn’t come from earth. He came from heaven and He was born in what city? Bethlehem, “The House of Bread.” That’s pretty profound, isn’t it? That’s a big deal.
So, why would the Messiah be born in a city called the house of bread? First, because He is supernatural and natural at the same exact time and that’s what manna was. Manna is a type and a shadow for Jesus Christ. It’s something that shows up every single day of your life. You don’t know where it comes from or how it’s there, but it’s there and your life is good because of it.
When Jesus is there, you go through things that should kill you, but they don’t because the power of God shows up on a daily basis and manifests. Like manna, He’s your provision. Like that mysterious bread, He’s your lifeline.
And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. – John 6:35
Like manna, Jesus is satisfying. He’s all you need.

GOODNESS IS YOUR BATTLE CRY
TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT
God’s glory will surround you as you accept the challenge to stand against evil. Draw your water pistol in the face of hell and run in with the sound of triumph!
THE GOOD GUYS
Some of my favorite historical heroes are warriors who stood up against the momentum and rising surge of evil in their day. Call me silly, but I want to stand with those guys and I want to be connected to a church body who does the same.
I want to shoot cover for Davy Crocket swinging his empty musket and screaming from the walls of the Alamo. I want to help William Wallace defeat the evil King Longshanks and actually dare to invade England. I want to support Wellington chasing down the tyrant Napoleon.
I love it when the good guys confront the bad guys and all hell breaks loose. I want to ride shotgun with Sam Houston over the rise of San Jacinto strait towards the tent of the cruel dictator Santa Anna. Why?
Because there is actually GLORY to the confrontation of evil. A dangerous glory, but I want it!
Warriors have always sniffed the winds of glory on the holy grounds of terrible conflict. Can you see it in tiny Miss Rosa Parks or Harriet Tubman?
Goodness should be your battle cry. You should be willing to fight for what is right and good. Unfortunately, many of us cower hoping someone else will do the dirty work – and it is dirty work! You look away saying it’s not your responsibility or even your right to step in. That’s where you are sorely mistaken.
God says it’s your duty to battle on the behalf of the widow, the orphan, the sojourner, the poor, the sick, the oppressed. First, we battle in prayer, then we jump into the direct fight.
A friend of mine was jogging when she witnessed a group of teenagers circled up. There was a ruckus and from what she could see, it was a pretty bloody fight. She didn’t keep jogging or call the police so they could show up five minutes later when the damage was done. All 110 pounds of her ran over, stepped in to the fray and shouted, “Jesus does not want you to do this!” She shouted it three times with her hands held high in holy surrender and suddenly – silence. The fighting stopped, the group dispersed and she, being a nurse, tended to the wounds, physical and spiritual, of the bully’s target.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO TAKE ON HELL WITH A WATER PISTOL. STAND AGAINST EVIL AND TAKE GOODNESS TO THE FIGHT. IT WILL BE MESSY, BUT GOD’S GLORY WILL TURN DARKNESS TO LIGHT!
