READY FOR A CHANGE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am a Father who truly wants the best for you. I will give you a better life if you simply listen and obey. Partner with Me through the Holy Spirit and see the amazing things I have planned for you.

READY FOR CHANGE?

At OpenDoor Church, we love everybody and we don’t judge or condemn. That’s why it’s very easy to slip in the door and not have your lifestyle challenged. Hear me on this: Jesus wants to upgrade your lifestyle, He doesn’t want you to live in bondage.

I’m not pointing fingers. It’s an invitation to walk into a greater upgrade.

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” – Galatians 2:20

How can a sinner all of a sudden stop all the worldly things they’ve been doing? They’ve died. They’ve finally died to sin and they believe what they read in this verse. Their old self has died and Christ is now living through them. “That’s first love.”

First Love is discovering who you really are – your true identity. You cannot know and uncover who you are until you stand in that position between the Father and the Son. It’s there that they tell you who you are. If you try to figure out who you are in your own wisdom, you’ll get it all messed up.

You need to hear the Father’s heart as He speaks your identity, which leads to your purpose and destiny. I guarantee you’ll find the old you has gotten a major upgrade.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. – 2 Corinthians 5:17

That old sinner is replaced by a renewed spirit which looks a lot more like Jesus. He’s the first love of the Father and when you get positioned between the Father and the Son, He sees the Son through you. That makes you His first love.

REVIVAL WILL FOLLOW

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I having given you the ability to choose. Choose life. Choose My ways and pursue revival among My people. I will be the strength in your weakness.

REVIVAL WILL FOLLOW

Here’s something crazy cool that I’ve noticed about the Lord: He strengthens us in the places where we pursue Him. We need to pursue revival and we need to go after that and get consecrated toward it.

“Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.” – Psalms 84:5

We need to be people who believe the power of revival will show up because we are pursuing it. We need to believe it, walk it out, become consecrated to it, and unplug ourselves from every distraction.

The point is, God blesses pursuit concerning His kingdom. Chances are, if you’re reading this, you’re sitting down. You sat in that chair because you believed it would hold you. Some of you may have tested it first, pushing on it or wiggling it around a bit. However, I’m guessing some didn’t check it at all. I didn’t.

This is the kind of belief we need when it comes to God’s word. Believe revival, and the power it holds is coming. Pursue it as you ‘pursued’ sitting in that chair. Step into the confidence of your authority. Chase after the Kingdom with all you have knowing He will be your strength. Peter did.

He was walking on the water when he lost focus on Jesus. He was distracted and began to sink. Do you know what else happened? Jesus was right there and to grab him. Keep your eyes on Jesus and revival will follow.

DO YOU NEED A MIRACLE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” (2 Chr 16:9) Are you facing a problem that you have said, “Only a miracle from God can help me now?” God wants you to know He sees you and is ready to work in your behalf. He will cause you to be victorious over all your enemies!

DESPERATE TIMES, DESPERATE MEASURES

Just so you know the truth, miracles are not God’s best for His people. Miracles are there for God’s people when miracle is required.

The fertile ground that bears the fruit of a miraculous move of God is typically a dangerous place to stand. You don’t see miracles when there is money in the bank and a 7-11 on the corner. You don’t hear of the miracle healing of a skin disorder when all you have to do is apply the cream your insurance paid your doctor for.

No, miracles are powerful moves for very desperate times. It’s an important biblical lesson to learn: It’s better to not need a miracle.

Some of the most mind-bending manifestations of God are born in the midst of chaos and controversy. It was like that when God parted the Red Sea for the children of Israel. It was like that when Jesus fed 500 men (and a lot more women and children) using five rolls and two smoked fish. Against all odds, the hand of God moves.

Understanding that miracles are a dangerous place to stand, know that 1995 was a very dangerous time for Leanna and I. Not because our lives were in peril, but because we were in the infant stages of building what is now OpenDoor Church and so much was on the line.

I want to stop right there and remind you of this: it is always the devil’s plan to snuff out a work of God before it is able to stand.

“…and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to give birth, to devour her Child as soon as it was born.” – Revelation 12:4

Satan is a cosmic punk. He is not a brilliant strategist. He is a relentless opportunist! 1 Peter 5:8 tells us he’s like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He’s really not all that powerful because he needs your permission to devour you! Those who don’t know any better, open the door for him to tear them to pieces. This is lack of trust in God’s power to deliver you!

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KNOW THE DEVIL IS POWERLESS OVER YOU IF YOU DON’T OPEN THE DOOR AND LET HIM IN. IT IS ALSO A GOOD DAY TO TRUST IN GOD’S POWER TO DELIVER YOU FROM HIS ENEMY THROUGH A MIRACLE. DO YOU NEED ONE? CALL ON HIS NAME WITH CONFIDENCE!

HIS HEART IN THE HEADLINES

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You are heading down the trail into a new discovery that God is so pleased to show you. Take the time to follow the Holy Spirit as He shows you His treasure.

HIS HEART IN THE HEADLINES

In 2005, a giant waterfall was discovered in California. The 400-foot hidden wonder was found just 15 miles from a national park headquarters in Shasta County. It had been there for centuries and nobody knew it.

Now, 400 feet of raging whitewater sounds like it would be hard to miss, but miss it they did. I believe it is a prophetic voice for you and I.

Something so magnificent waiting to be discovered could only be seen from above. Nobody trekked in and discovered it. It was found through satellite images.

Sometimes you can’t see the proverbial forest for the trees and sometimes you can’t see the 400-foot raging waterfall because it is off the trail everybody traditionally walks on. This waterfall was there all the time, but it was off the map.

I hear the heartbeat of the Father in this event. God knew it was there all the time. He was just waiting for someone to discover it. When they did, I’m sure it was a great day for the Lord.

The Father is waiting for you to move forward for upgrade. He wants you to discover new facets of Him and to explore new opportunities to share Him with others.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO ASK GOD FOR A NEW DISCOVERY OF HIM AND HIS MASTER PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE. YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED BY WHAT YOU FIND.

GOODNESS CHANGES THE ATMOSPHERE

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

God is shining the light of His glory into your situation. Even when things look chaotic, wait for God as He multiplies His goodness in your mixed-up mess!

GOODNESS CHANGES THE ATMOSPHERE

When you get good at setting the atmosphere, you begin to recognize sweet or sour atmospheres really quick.

It’s amazing to me where goodness will show up and, it might surprise you, but goodness likes to turn up in a mess. It actually thrives in chaos! Why? Because goodness will always oppose evil and evil is overcome by goodness because goodness wants to advance.

Goodness doesn’t tolerate evil and evil slinks back into the hole it crawled out of when goodness shows up. Just like light is superior to darkness, goodness is far superior to evil. When goodness shows up and tears darkness apart, it tends to be messy.

And God saw light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. – Genesis 1:4

God loves to be in the addition and multiplication business. But when it comes to confronting darkness with light, He drops His supernatural math into the division business. God moves darkness out of the way and displaces it with the goodness of light. BOOM!

Consequently, there is a lot of confrontation with goodness showing up. There tends to be a lot of yelling and slanderous accusations thrown at goodness because division tends to be messy.

TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO CONFRONT DARKNESS WITH THE GOODNESS OF LIGHT. IT WILL BE MESSY, BUT IT WILL ALSO BE WORTH IT!

MEEK IS NOT WEAK

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

My Spirit will fill you with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Lead with love and follow it with self-control and everything in-between will fall into place.

MEEK ISN’T WEAK

Moses came down from the mountain and we think of him as Charleston Heston – muscles bulging, hair blowing gracefully in the wind and the presence of God on his finely chiseled features.

Let me tell you the truth: Moses was really more like Pee-wee Herman than Heston. The Word tells us,

(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) – Numbers 12:3

See, our Gentile understanding of Moses is not a Biblical understanding. We all think of him as the alpha male when, in reality, he couldn’t talk well and he was the outsider in Pharaoh’s house as well as his own family.

Now, here’s something interesting about this verse. Moses wrote that.

While that might seem strange or even self-indulgent, our western thinking of the word meek is incorrect. While we think meek means “weak,” it actually means “strength with restraint.” My friends, Moses was no pushover. He dealt with some really difficult people in some extreme circumstances and people are still talking about it today.

While he was not a movie star, he was a rock star. So, remember that meek is not weak and Moses was the real deal. Strength with restraint – love and patience tempered with self-control is what every Christian should be operating in. Are you?

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I have only the best for you in mind. Partner with Me and together we’ll have a life like you never imagined. See things from My perspective and you will want Kingdom things.

WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Your want-life needs to be full of the Holy Spirit. There’s nothing wrong with having things you want in the natural, but you have to be careful you’re not wanting a lot of stuff that doesn’t matter.

Do you want that new car, or do you want to witness to the guy selling the car? When the world we know comes to an end, that car won’t matter. God has no problem with you getting a new car. However, you need to renew your mind, Romans 12:2, to want what He wants.

First, you need to turn up your want-life for Him. Then, in doing that, He gives you all these permissions. Here’s an example: I love it when God answers my prayers, but when God starts answering things I didn’t pray, that gets my attention.

What is that? He’s giving me the desires of my heart. I’m serving Him in the desires of my heart.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. – Psalms 37:4

When you partner with God in your want-life, that’s the kind of coolness that begins to happen.

“My soul follows hard after You, your right hand uphold me…” – Psalms 63:8

“Your right hand uphold me” means that God has given you strength. Why? Because your soul follows hard after Him. Every time you pursue, God supernaturally supports how you pursue Him.

When you were a kid, did you ever chase that cute girl or boy around the playground? Yes, she ran, but she kinda wanted you to catch her? When you pursue and chase after God, He wants you to catch Him, I promise. Once that happens, goodness and mercy shall follow you (Psalm 23:6).

REFUSE TO BE OFFENDED

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

I Am a sovereign God. My ways and thoughts are higher than yours. Believe Me when I tell you I work all things for your good because that is who I Am. I Am good.

REFUSE TO BE OFFENDED

There’s an amazing woman in the Bible. She wasn’t a Jew, but she was following King Jesus looking for a word. She needed healing and was desperate. What did Jesus do? He called her a dog.

Look it up! It’s in the Bible. She was so persistent, she was getting on the disciples’ nerves. Jesus picked up that vibe and He’s like, “Watch how the disciples approve of me offending this person because she’s not only a woman but a Gentile.”

So Jesus says, “Excuse me, ma’am. I don’t really have anything for you because what I have is for the children of God and not for dogs.”

Ladies, would that sit right for you? You go to Jesus and you think He’s the most magnificent person in the world. You think He’s the most beautiful thing ever. You know He’s the Son of God, you know He has life and He says, “Uh, sorry! I don’t have anything for dogs.”

Here’s what that woman said: “You’re calling me a dog? Well, that means I get to sit under Your table and eat the crumbs that fall off.” She refused to leave. She refused to think Jesus wasn’t good after all.

He didn’t say that to humiliate her but to expose the fact she refused to be offended. She was going to seek Him and seek Him until she finally got something. Then He turns around to disciples and He’s like, “Boom! Look at this lady! I wish you guys were like her.”

I love that story. It’s offensive yet, heaven invades earth in that place. So, what about you? Do you let yourself get offended by the Bible, the preacher, the people sitting next to you or the pastor on TV? Do you get offended at God when He doesn’t answer your prayers when or how you thought He would?

Remember, God is good despite what your eyes see. He has something for you and even His crumbs are better than anything this world has to offer. Refuse to be offended.

“And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” – Luke 7:23

GOD IS THE GAME CHANGER

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT

You are a kingdom advancer; you will not look back but will continue to move forward like a bulldozer moving the ground in front of it. You are moving kingdom ground and His banner over you is Love.

GOD THE GAME CHANGER

Most of us have heard of the 16 God names in the Old Testament, including Jehovah Jireh, the Lord is our Provider; or Jehovah Rapha, the Lord is our Healer. However, few have heard of Jehovah Nissi.

Jehovah Nissi, means the Lord is our Banner and the banner it’s referring to is the flag on a battlefield. If you want to win the battle for upgrade and momentum, you need to learn to call on Jehovah Nissi.

Jehovah Nissi is the game changing side of the Lord. He is the momentum changer.

The Lord is our Banner speaks of a battlefield where suddenly, the momentum swings in your favor because the King’s banner has entered the fray. It means the King Himself is fighting the fight!

Everything changes when you can see Jesus on your battlefield. It is from that momentum that you pick up your sword, get off the ground and scream in the face of the enemy again – think Braveheart!

When it comes down to it, the forceful part of moving forward in the Kingdom is to be taken head-on – never from your flanks or behind, so there’s no need to cover your butt because your armor is for living life forward. Read Ephesians chapter six and you’ll see the “full armor of God” covers everything but your backside.

Why? Because moving forward, upgrade, progression, momentum – they are not for people who turn their backs to see what’s behind them. You and I are not meant to be Lott’s wife, looking back in longing of what she was leaving behind. We are to be the warrior Bride of Christ – positioned to move forward and win the battle under the banner of the King!

TODAY IS  A GOOD DAY TO CALL ON JEHOVAH NISSI. LET HIM ENTER YOUR BATTLEFIELD AND CHANGE THE MOMENTUM FOR YOUR VICTORY – YOUR UPGRADE!
