DEFEAT THAT ENEMY!

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT



The Lord has given you a strategy for your life. It’s your job to walk it out and fight for what He’s given to you. Don’t let the enemy take ground. Fight from the victory that Christ died to give you! 





LEGACY OF SAN JACINTO 



Some battles are so strategically important that the direction of the future itself hinges on that single event. San Jacinto was that kind of battle. 





Not only did Sam Houston’s decisive victory at San Jacinto establish Texas independence, it led to the Mexican-American War. Victory there resulted in America’s acquisition of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah and parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Oklahoma.





Yes, one-third of present-day America eventually changed sovereignty all because Houston and a handful of true Texas patriots – not even trained soldiers – dared to defeat the tyrant Santa Anna on April 21,1836. 





There’s a word of redemption in that. You see, there is a reason why people in Fort Worth, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles and Albuquerque don’t have to live like our neighbors to the south in Matamoros, Juarez and Tijuana. Someone paid the price for that freedom.





I wonder if you know how important it is that you win the battles you’re fighting in your life? Unseen spiritual battles are being fought in brutal mental and emotional arenas in your life. Jesus has given you the ability to defeat the enemy because there’s a lot more at stake here than you probably think.





For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ… 
– 2 Corinthians 10:3-5





As a Christian, you have to fight in order to occupy your territory – your marriage, emotions, finances, ministry, children, job – and to have victory in the territory God has given you. Your fight is first spiritual, and get this – the majority of the battlefield is between your ears!





The Lord has given you mighty weapons of warfare – the Words of Scripture. They are powerful and able to bring your thoughts under control. Along with prayer and the Holy Spirit, they break down the mightiest stronghold and make you dangerous to the enemy!





TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DECLARE WHAT THE WORD SAYS ABOUT YOU. YOU ARE A MIGHTY WARRIOR! GOD HAS PLANS TO PROSPER YOU, GIVE YOU HOPE AND A FUTURE. THAT FUTURE IS FREEDOM FOR YOUR BLOODLINE AND BEYOND – SO FIGHT!

WHERE DO YOU WANT TO LIVE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT



Taking the first step toward spiritual change is often repeated, sometimes daily and even in succession. The culmination of what might seem like a thousand baby steps “on hind’s feet” (Habakkuk 3:17-19) is what leads to your mountain top experience. Enjoy the view, and don’t forget where you came from!





MANNA FROM HEAVEN



We all spend time in the wilderness of life, learning to trust and follow God for our daily bread. In the wilderness, the miracle is that you are fed manna from heaven and water from rocks. Provision is the only issue you deal with.





Why? Because trusting and following God does not come naturally. We have to learn that behavior and hone it into a skill set. Admit it. You tend to trust yourself and either follow the crowd, or follow your instincts. That doesn’t work in the Kingdom where God wants you to learn His ultimate goodness by relying on Him.





The Promised Land, however, is different from the wilderness. In the Promised Land, provision is not the issue. The miracle of the Promised Land happens in pursuit of conquest.





Consider the difference in relationship between the two places.





Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year. 
– Joshua 5:12





In the Promised Land, they moved from miraculous provision to miraculous exploits – winning battles and taking territory for the Kingdom. The wilderness is full of slaves learning to become God’s people. The Promised Land is full of God’s people learning to be warriors who accomplish great vision.





The big question today is, where do you want to live? If you’re in the wilderness, learn your lesson well. Depend on God and learn to trust His provision. If you’re in the Promised Land, sic ‘em and God will back you up!





And the children of Israel ate manna forty years, until they came to an inhabited land; they ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.  – Exodus 16:35





TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GO AFTER UPGRADE. IF YOU ARE IN THE WILDERNESS, START TAKING STEPS TOWARD THE PROMISED LAND BY BEING THANKFUL AND TRUSTING GOD TO LEAD YOU TO BETTER THINGS!

MIND THE GAP

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT



The Lord wants to bless your family for generations to come. Your walk is paving the way for your family. Stay on the Lord’s path, continually renew your covenant with Him, and remain faithful of the things unseen, for they are eternal. 





YOUR OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN  



Have you lost hope that your kids or grandkids will get saved? Take heart!





My good friend, Pastor Jim Maxwell, preached a sermon called “The Other Side of the Mountain.” In it, he gave an amazing account of a blessing that comes from the heart of King David. That blessing that was inside David, outlived him and went to his kids.





Fifty-six years after David made a special covenant with God, the Bible says that his son, Solomon, who was now king, had turned from the Lord. Now, this was the man God had given everything to – the holy city of Jerusalem, the chosen people, great wisdom and the privilege of building the temple. Solomon had turned away and God was upset!





In 1 Kings 11:12 God tells Solomon, “I ought to kill you and devastate your kingdom, but I will not because of your daddy, David.” That same covenant rang true 27 years later when Solomon’s grandson, Abijah, turned from the Lord, and 315 years after the death of David when God delivered King Hezekiah and Jerusalem from the Assyrians – all because of a covenant with David.





If you remain in covenant with Him, I believe God will do the same thing for you. Stand in the gap for your children and grandchildren. Give eternal life to 1,000 generations. Love Jesus and keep His commands. David’s faith outlived his life. So will yours!





“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;” 
– Deuteronomy 7:9





TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO HAVE CONFIDENCE IN THE LORD’S PROMISES. RENEW YOUR COVENANT WITH HIM AND DEDICATE YOUR FAMILY AND 1,000 GENERATIONS TO SALVATION AND SERVICE IN HIM.

BE PREPARED

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT



Allow the precious Holy Spirit to guide you and give you the boldness to draw the line. Speak the truth that will bring glory to God. 





THE LIE OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS 



The Lord has a holy hatred for the portrayal of His glory as something shameful. That’s why some of the biggest warnings in the Bible tell us to be super careful that we don’t call evil “good” and good “evil.” 





“How long, O you sons of men, will you turn my glory to shame? How long will you love  worthlessness  and seek falsehood?” 
– Psalm 4:2-3





You don’t call worthless things glorious and shameful things wonderful without God saying, “Really?” If you have no value for what’s real, if you have no value for the truth, you will lose your value for what is good.





Be on guard in these final days, because under the disguise of political correctness, good is being called evil more and more. 





Today, the world calls women becoming men and men becoming women “good.” It believes that no matter what sex a person is, they should choose the bathroom they identify with, and that killing an unborn baby is a “choice,” a right and a freedom. This is “good” in the world of political correctness where all should be equal. The world will tell you that to disagree is evil, unloving and ultimately, un-Christian.





Why? They will tell you that Jesus wanted all to be equal, therefore they are doing what Jesus would do. Baloney!





Here on earth, we are not created equal. Some are beautiful, some are not. Some are talented, others are not. Some are born to wealthy families or in successful nations, others are not. I have news for you if you are going to survive the onslaught of political correctness: LIFE IS NOT FAIR!





Read the Psalms. They are a testimony to how unfair this fallen world really is. Do not fall for the PC line that says what once was good is now evil because we have to make things fair or equal here on earth.





The only place where things are fair, equal and right is in Heaven when we become like Christ. Until then, keep testifying to a dying world that Jesus is the answer. Continue to present the truth no matter how many times you are called “evil” or “shameful.”





Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 
– Romans 1:24-25





TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO VALUE GOODNESS. BE PREPARED TO DEFEND GOODNESS AGAINST POLITICAL CORRECTNESS AND THOSE WHO WISH TO DEEM “GOOD” AS “EVIL.”

LOST AND IN NEED OF A SAVIOR?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT



Don’t let the enemy’s distractions cause you to lose your way. Displace the enemy by expanding the Kingdom and show Him you are focused like an arrow hitting the mark!





HOW DID WE GET HERE? 



It’s very embarrassing for a guy like me to get lost. I don’t know why, but I’m always convinced I’ll get to the right place and I tend to get mad at the road if it doesn’t cooperate with me.





If I do get lost, it’s usually because I’m talking on the cell phone. I miss exits and outright drive to wrong cities if I stay on the phone long enough. I’ve been known to hang up, look up and say, “How did I get here?”





The same thing happened to Commander George P. Ryanway. On Nov. 23, 1877, the last of the great naval steam ships, the USS Huron, left port and headed south toward Cuba captained by the best and brightest West Point had to offer.





Because he was acutely aware of his education, Ryanway ignored warning after warning of upcoming storms. He was confident his compass and his knowledge could help him weather any gale or wave. 





However, he failed to realize there was a tiny 1-degree error in the ship’s compass. The further it headed south, the closer the USS Huron would edge toward the reefs of the east coast. Within 24 hours, the Huron sank just 200 yards off the coast of Virginia and 98 men lost their lives.





Ryanway’s last recorded words were, “My God, how did we get here?”





Ever look up from your busy life, see the wreck about to happen and ask the same question? I have, many times, and I know you have too.





Ryanway was lost because what he trusted wasn’t true. I was lost because I was distracted. Sometimes, we’re lost in a fog of pain, despair or doubt. Whatever the reason, it’s a very bad thing to be lost.





Father God knew that. That’s why He sent Jesus.





“…for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”  – Luke 19:10





Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He asked the Father to send the Holy Spirit to help us find our way.





 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.  – John 14:16-18





You see, God hates the idea of you being lost. He will do whatever it takes to find you, but you have to want to be found. Have you fallen off the path and need to be restored? Never been on the right road and want to find the way to your true home? Call out to Him! It’s that easy.





He will lead you and give you direction. It’s the most precious gift anyone has ever been given because it meets your greatest need. We are all in desperate need of a savior!





Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.  – Matthew 18:14





TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO ASK FOR GOD’S DIRECTION. LOST AND IN NEED OF A SAVIOR? CALL OUT TO JESUS AND HE WILL PUT YOU ON THE ROAD TO ETERNAL LIFE IN HEAVEN WITH HIM.

WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT



Thoughts are like streetcars, buses, and cabs; there is always one around the corner. Resist the vehicle that wants to take you where you do not want to go. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. He doesn’t have a driver’s license anyway!





THE MINEFIELD OF THE MIND



Are you actively serving the Lord in your mind? Do you have honest and realistic mental boundaries concerning what you will and won’t think about? Do you set aside times for mediation on God’s Word?





If you want God to do great things in and with your mind, the answers to those questions should be a resounding, “Yes.” If you answered, “No,” to any of them, you’re opening yourself to attack from the enemy.





Known as the “father of lies” and the “prince of the power of the air,” the devil wants to control the atmosphere of your mind. One of the ways he does this is to deceive you into believing your thoughts are harmless –  that you can control them. 





Remember, your brain has teeth. Your thoughts do come back to bite you because they become your attitude. Your thoughts affect your daily outlook and disposition. That’s why the Word tells us to think on things such as this…





 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. – Philippians 4:8





I’ve also shown you where the Bible calls your brain “the loins of your mind.” This means your mind is a reproductive organ. The thoughts you think become your words and actions. If your thoughts are dark, you reproduce enemies who want to destroy you! A good example is pornography. Porn always leads to ugly words and actions. Why do you think there is such a prevalence of child molestation and forced prostitution? Thoughts become actions.





I want God to do great things in my mind. Just like I want to see God do great things on my next mission trip to the jungles of Africa, the Amazon or the wilds of India, I want to see God move in the deep places of my thinking and the dark places in my accepted wisdom. My mind is just as great a missionary journey, and just as harsh and ruthless an environment.





How about you? Have you allowed the Holy Spirit to personally deal with you concerning your mind? Have you asked the Lord to show you problem areas, and potential snares in your thinking? You need to. You need to have a scripture for each trap the enemy sets so you can quote it back to him and send him and his lies straight back to the pit he crawled out of.





TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO CONVICT YOU IN YOUR THINKING. IF THERE ARE AREAS OF YOUR THOUGHT LIFE THAT ARE OFF LIMITS TO GOD, INVITE HIM IN TO CLEAN UP THE MESS AND GIVE YOU THE MIND OF CHRIST!

WHAT DO YOU VALUE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT



God calls you Holy. You were created to be set apart for His purposes. Don’t listen to the voices saying you are less. You are a child of the One True God.





VALUES FOR FORWARD LIVING FOLKS



When you’re a child of God, you must learn to value what your heavenly Father values. So what does He value? Good question!





1) The presence of God. This is personal encounter. It’s here you learn to become completely dependent on His manifest presence in your life. You make a big deal out of seeking Him and finding Him. You want Him in every part of your life and want to know what He thinks because you want to be in agreement with Him.





2) The Word of God. This is all about personal communication. You need to have a huge value for His Word, both spoken and written. I love hearing Him speak to me – and He uses numbers, stars, dreams, visions, music, encounter and prophecy in addition to the Bible. Learn to hear Him in these things! 





3) Mystery and waiting. This is about strategy and decisive action. At times, you are responsible for partnering with Him to plan and make strategic moves. You’re also responsible for waiting on Him in things you don’t even known how to articulate. You will value daring to step into the unknown and celebrate your progression.





4) Supernatural experience. Those who truly live life forward do so knowing that nothing is impossible because of Jesus Christ. It is perfectly natural to live supernatural lives and you should refuse to consider any other notion.





When you value these four things, nothing is impossible! You will bring heaven to earth and people will see the goodness of God. This is how people get saved. God’s goodness overcomes the evil in their lives.





Jesus gave them this answer: ‘Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed. 
– John 5:19-20





So value what God values and bring someone to the Father today!





TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO CONSIDER WHAT GOD VALUES. MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF HIS GOODNESS SO OTHERS WILL WANT TO KNOW HIM TOO!

GOOD OR GODLY?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT



Today is the day to persevere in goodness toward others, even if they speak against you. Knowing who you are in Christ will help you to rise above the fray.





HOLD ON TIGHT!



With mobs rising and good being mistaken as evil, you had better hold on tight to the Word of God in these confusing days.





Test the mettle of everything you hear. Why? Just because something is considered good, does not make it godly.





In these final days, you will be challenged to believe that life is death and death is life. You will be tempted more than any generation in history to give up on goodness. You must be prepared to throw out the supernatural bastard of evil and hold on to the legitimate sonship of Jesus Christ, and His ultimate goodness! 





But test everything; hold fast to what is good. 
– 1 Thessalonians 5:21





Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
 
– Romans 12:9





Do you see that loving good goes hand in hand with loving truth? If you do not hold on to what is true and genuine, you will not hold on to what is good. You will let go of it for your own selfish, destructive ambition. 





You see, truth and goodness are so attached, we are commanded to think about both!





Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.  – Philippians 4:8





Want to recognize the Godly from the so-called good? Think on the good things listed above. Test the mettle of whether it’s true, noble, right or pure. If it’s not, it’s not of God.





Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness. 
– Isaiah 5:20





TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO THINK ABOUT TRUE, NOBLE, RIGHT AND PURE THINGS. GET YOUR MIND SET RIGHT FOR THE BATTLE AT HAND! TEST THE METTLE OF “GOOD” THINGS TO KNOW IF THEY ARE “GODLY” THINGS!

WHO DO YOU LOVE?

TODAY’S PROPHETIC THOUGHT



God is always looking for ways to show you just how much He loves you through the circumstances of your life — good and bad. He doesn’t cause the bad. but He sure will speak to you through it. Put on your listening ears. Hear what He has to say because He is always speaking.





A FATHER’S LOVE



Odds are, you’ve never heard of Titanic Thompson. He sailed through life as the greatest poker-playing, golf-gambling, horseshoe-hustling, skeet shooting, womanizing, hell raking con man of all time. 





His skills as a card cheat got him invited to play poker with Al Capone. Yes, he cheated the legendary mobster and got away with it. His golf skills were good enough to shoot 29 on the back nine of Fort Worth’s Ridglea Country Club, where he beat Byron Nelson by one stroke. Harry Houdini studied him to find his secret to swindling people.





I could go on and on. Look the man up on the world wide waste of time. You will find him to be fascinating. Why do I know so much about Titanic? His son, Tommy Thomas, is a friend of mine.





Now Titanic married five times and had several abandoned offspring, Tommy included. Always hoping to someday impress his infamous dad, Tommy caught up with him in San Antonio and the pair racked up millions from unsuspecting wannabes. Was the money great? Sure. But that’s not what Tommy was after.





Tommy was looking for his father’s love. All he wanted was to hear the words, “I love you,” even if they were from a deeply flawed man like Titanic.





Well, Tommy did hear those words as Titanic was drawing some of his last breaths. While it was great, Tommy’s life was truly changed when he heard his Father God proclaim His undying love for the cheating son of a card shark.





Today, Tommy is a preacher telling everyone how to beat the odds in life – death – through salvation in Jesus Christ. Tommy knows the secret many of us long to understand: Whatever exploits you’ve lived, good or bad, they mean nothing compared to who you love and who loves you. 





And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love, with him I am well pleased.” 
– Matthew 3:17





Who do you love?





LET IT BE SAID OF YOU THAT YOU LOVED JESUS AND HE TRULY, CRAZILY, AMAZINGLY LOVED YOU! IT’S THAT LOVE THAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED TO BE PART OF HIS FAMILY AND BE INVITED TO LIVE IN HIS HOUSE FOR ETERNITY.
