YOU ARE A PART OF HIS FAMILY
Your heavenly Father wants you to know that you belong at His table. He keeps no record of your wrongs so pull up a chair! You are welcome to His amazing provision and presence today!
GOD’S GREAT BIG FAMILY VALUES
When you become part of this great big family of believers, you also inherit a great big set of family values that come from the heart of the Father Himself.
You learn to make a big deal out of what He makes a big deal out of. As you magnify the Lord, it becomes clear what things you should blow up and bring attention to. You will also understand what things to dial down because the Lord isn’t in them. Remember, not all good things are God things!
There are lots of people who never master the art of upgrade or get the fever for forward. But that’s not you!
Since you are different, it stands to reason you are going to make a big deal out of things others do not, like buying girls out of sexual slavery, or feeding homeless people, or giving backpacks filled with school supplies to kids in your town.
I have found the values of those of us who journey in the fast lane are quite a bit different from the values of the world. You’ll see that too, the longer you walk with Jesus.
Do you remember the lessons of the wilderness?
When you learn the lesson, you learn to have a high priority for the things you were taught – God loves you unconditionally, He provides all your needs and He sees you as an overcomer, not a loser! You are a mighty warrior for good, so jerk that pistol and get to work!
“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
– Romans 12:21
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO MAKE A BIG DEAL OUT OF WHAT GOD VALUES – RELATIONSHIPS, REDEMPTION, AND RESTORATION. BRAG ON YOUR FATHER GOD SO OTHERS WILL WANT TO MEET HIM TOO!

PREPARE FOR VICTORY
You’re not only created in God’s image, but He created you with an image in His mind of who you will become and how you’ll impact the Kingdom on earth. Only “seeing in part” makes for such an amazing journey of trusting and loving God while experiencing, and being His goodness. Prepare for victory!
KINGDOM PREPPING
Prophecy and the headlines are pointing the way to the final days. Don’t fear! The sky is not falling. The Kingdom is coming! However, you do need to be prepared as the days are not only short, they are evil.
First, you need to love good and hate evil. Do good even when persecution comes your way.
Second, make sure you influence everything you do with God’s goodness. Set a different tone in your home, at work or anywhere you are. Bring goodness with you and make it noticeable.
Third, develop selfless skill sets and gifts of goodness that promote the Kingdom. Don’t guard your heart. Let it get totally wrecked with the suffering and pain of this world so you can bring God’s goodness to the most hopeless places.
Next, let the name of Jesus get the glory for the good you do. That means go above and beyond in your service.
Finally, let good be a catalyst for Kingdom transformation. Take action. Get off the bandwagons of this world and do things that draw people to Jesus.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good and all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
– Galatians 6:9-10

LIFE IS SHORT. LIVE IT WELL!
What will your legacy say about your life? What is your testimony? The Lord is rooting for you to finish well! Take a stand for what matters in life. The Lord is always with you!
LIFE IS SHORT. LIVE IT WELL!
I wonder if I could stand at your funeral and declare a certain victory for you the way I did for Paula Ledbetter. Could I stand and speak of your unwavering faith, your selfless service or your dedication to the things that really matter?
I truly hope your funeral is not a sad, boring thing where the best I can say for you is that you liked to play golf, were a part of a union at work, or loved your dog or cat.
The truth is, if your life is all about you and how you can advance your own personal agenda, the world will be better off without you. However, if you have a testimony of redemption, faith and selfless service, the world needs you now, just like it needed Paula.
Who was Paula? She was my friend and my secretary. She cleaned the church, answered the phones, cut everyone’s hair for free, organized our big events, structured the deacon ministry, delivered food to folks without transportation, arranged all my evangelical meetings, helped me with my newspaper column, watched my kids, made my coffee and organized OpenDoor’s mission trips.
She was an outstanding wife and mother who selflessly served and was blessed abundantly. She died several years ago, unexpectedly in her sleep, at the age of 37. She is still greatly missed. And though she may have lost a battle, she won the war!
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,”
– Luke 4:18
The fact of the matter is that Paula’s life didn’t end with her death. She had victory over death and it was won for her on a battlefield 2,000 years ago by a champion named Jesus Christ.
What about you? Do you have victory over death? Have you allowed the blood of that champion to cover your sins? If you have not, call out to Him. Jesus is waiting for you to surrender your life to Him. Time is short. None of us is guaranteed tomorrow.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LET THE LORD TEACH YOU TO NUMBER YOUR DAYS. MAKE THE MOST OF THEM BY TESTIFYING TO THE LOVE OF JESUS AND LEADING PEOPLE TO THE CROSS. LIFE IS SHORT, SO LIVE IT WELL!

DARE TO GO!
The Lord has a good path for you to follow. Seek Him and you will find Him. He is speaking to you in ways you never could have imagined. Open your heart to hear Him, then follow His ways.
INDESCRIBABLY JESUS
Do you want to discover a part of God’s heart that no one else has before? I do. I want to see God in new and different ways because He likes to show up like that – in new and different ways. He is ultimately personal with us. He knows just how to get my attention, and yours.
This is the reason Paul calls the gift of God – Jesus – indescribable.
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
– 2 Corinthians 9:12
The gift of Jesus is not indescribable because there are no words. He is indescribable because there are not enough words to describe the endless ways He is moving and speaking.
The voice of the Lord is on the waters, the voice of the Lord is on the many waters. – Psalms 29:3
He speaks to us in endless ways. Nature, friends, circumstances, His Word, the headlines, numbers, the stars… I could go on and on. So, what does He speak to you?
Do you think the Lord is calling you to something better – an upgrade? School, adopting a baby, starting a business, getting into a ministry or believing Him for a miracle?
Don’t discount it because you’re not familiar with this territory. The only things you need to be familiar with are His voice and His heart. They are the premier catalyst for finding road signs and highways that spring up in uninhabited places.
That highway is meant to lead you through the Lord’s plan for your life.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up. Do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
– Isaiah 43:19
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO RECOGNIZE THE WILDERNESS OF YOUR LIFE. ASK JESUS TO TAKE YOU TO THAT UNCHARTED PLACE THAT’S OFF YOUR MAP. GO AFTER UPGRADE AND HIS PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE.

TRUST HIS WILL
Put your trust in the Lord and He will use you, not only to improve your life but to improve the lives of others. Have an open heart. Allow the Lord to work through you and let the Lord be magnified.
TAKE THIS CUP
When things don’t go as we planned, or when others in ministry don’t do things the same way we do, we need to know that grumbling and showing our displeasure at the results is not only wrong but a poor witness.
Rather than throwing a galactic fit and pointing the finger at others involved, remember this: Jesus didn’t demand His way while He was on earth. He was all about the Father’s will.
And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what you will.”
– Mark 14:36
If we are to be like Jesus, we have to set our will aside and ask that the Father’s will be done.
In January of 1850, there was a huge snowstorm in England on a Sunday morning. An elder of a prominent church looked outside and decided to go back to bed. Surely, nobody would come to church on such an inclement day. However, he realized he was acting on his will, not the Father’s.
So the elder waded through the snow to the church, where he sat alone. As he was about to leave, a young man, 15, walked through the door. The elder decided he would do his best to come up with a sermon.
Fumbling with the words, he managed what he felt was a weak attempt at the Gospel message and was surprised when the boy accepted the message of salvation. That boy was Charles Spurgeon – the “Prince of Preachers” whose sermons, commentaries and devotionals paved the way for revival in the 20th century.
What if that elder had decided to stay in bed, or worse yet, leave because one person was not important enough for all the effort he’d put into getting there? What if he had badmouthed the pastor and other elders for not showing up? He could have skipped the sermon, after all, he wasn’t the preacher. Instead, he bowed to God’s will. He knew his attempts were feeble and the audience small, but God used this elder’s weakness to prove His greatness.
The next time you are tempted to grumble when your efforts don’t seem to be successful, remember the results are not up to you, so represent your God well.
…fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. – Philippians 2:2-3
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LET GOD’S WILL SUPERSEDE YOURS. DO NOT GRUMBLE WHEN THINGS DON’T GO AS YOU PLANNED. INSTEAD, GIVE IT TO GOD AND WATCH BEAUTY COME FROM ASHES.

A PICTURE OF GOD
The Lord will set up a way for you to present Jesus to people in a way they never expected. Be prepared to show His goodness.
THE FACE WITH THE NAME
It’s not enough to just teach Jesus. You and I need to teach the goodness of Jesus through selfless acts of service and demonstrations of what Heaven values.
You see, the world doesn’t believe that God is good. Life is hard. Loved ones get sick or addicted. People die. There are more mouths to feed than money. Jobs are lost and disasters seem to strike from all sides.
Though God doesn’t cause these things to happen – we live in the fallen world as the consequence of sin – people believe that when bad invades their life, God is getting revenge for something they did wrong.
So what do you tell the lost, hurting and downright angry? Simple. Tell them God is not mad at them. Through the sacrifice of Jesus, we have been reconciled to the Father. That means there is no animosity between us. God’s not mad at anyone!
That’s good news to a dying world that has fashioned God in the image of man – vengeful, spiteful and filled with anger. You and I need to paint a different picture of who God is with our actions.
We need to paint Him as good because He is. How people are treated in Heaven should be how people are treated on earth by those who bear the name of Christ. Let’s paint a new face – the true face – of God for all the world to see.
A face that loves His creation. A face that is good.
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.
– 1 Corinthians 2:4
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO PAINT A PICTURE OF GOD THROUGH YOUR GOOD DEEDS. GIVE HIM THE GLORY AND LET PEOPLE SEE JESUS FOR WHO HE REALLY IS – GOOD.

DO YOU HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST?
You have the mind of Christ, which means you are in control of what you think about. It’s time to make a point to consider what you are thinking about. Compare it to God’s Word and throw out anything that doesn’t align. God is with you!
A BEAUTIFUL MIND
In every courtroom drama, the central figure is the judge. He is the one who determines whether to allow testimony or evidence into the record of a legal case.
Often, the prosecutor wants to throw out part of a witness’ testimony as the defense attorney argues why the jury should be allowed to consider it. At that point, everyone looks toward the judge waiting for him to say “I will allow it” or “objection overruled.”
If you are going to have a mind the Holy Spirit can really work with, you have first got to learn how to judge your thoughts. Judgment is not just the ability to discern what’s good and what’s not good in your thought life. Judgment is determining what you will allow and what you will not allow your mind to think about.
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
– 1 Corinthians 11:31
Do you have mental boundaries set up by the Holy Spirit concerning the thoughts you entertain? What about the movies and TV shows you watch, the music you listen to, the websites you visit and the company you keep? Are you acting as judge over them?
If so, you are fast becoming a faithful steward, and well on your way to fully serving God in your mind.
I have a friend who doesn’t watch horror movies or anything that portrays evil as powerful. Why? She says she refuses to put evil in her head because there is no way to get it out. You know what? She’s right. We need to be very selective when it comes to the thoughts we put in our minds.
What about you? Are you ready to give up futile thinking and entertainment that does not glorify God to have a beautiful, clear, Godly mind? I am!
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DECLARE THAT YOU ARE DONE LETTING EVIL OR UNGODLY THOUGHTS INTO YOUR HEAD. THINK ON WHATEVER IS PURE, EXCELLENT OR PRAISEWORTHY AND REFUSE TO GIVE HELL A FOOTHOLD ON YOUR THINKING.

WHERE DO YOU WANT TO LIVE?
Taking the first step toward spiritual change is often repeated, sometimes daily and even in succession. The culmination of what might seem like a thousand baby steps “on hind’s feet” (Habakkuk 3:17-19) is what leads to your mountain top experience. Enjoy the view, and don’t forget where you came from!
MANNA FROM HEAVEN
We all spend time in the wilderness of life, learning to trust and follow God for our daily bread. In the wilderness, the miracle is that you are fed manna from heaven and water from rocks. Provision is the only issue you deal with.
Why? Because trusting and following God does not come naturally. We have to learn that behavior and hone it into a skill set. Admit it. You tend to trust yourself and either follow the crowd or follow your instincts. That doesn’t work in the Kingdom where God wants you to learn His ultimate goodness by relying on Him.
The Promised Land, however, is different from the wilderness. In the Promised Land, provision is not the issue. The miracle of the Promised Land happens in pursuit of conquest.
Consider the difference in the relationship between the two places.
Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land, and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.
– Joshua 5:12
In the Promised Land, they moved from miraculous provision to miraculous exploits – winning battles and taking territory for the Kingdom. The wilderness is full of slaves learning to become God’s people. The Promised Land is full of God’s people learning to be warriors who accomplish great vision.
The big question today is, where do you want to live? If you’re in the wilderness, learn your lesson well. Depend on God and learn to trust His provision. If you’re in the Promised Land, sic ‘em and God will back you up!
And the children of Israel ate manna forty years until they came to an inhabited land; they ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan. – Exodus 16:35
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO GO AFTER UPGRADE. IF YOU ARE IN THE WILDERNESS, START TAKING STEPS TOWARD THE PROMISED LAND BY BEING THANKFUL AND TRUSTING GOD TO LEAD YOU TO BETTER THINGS!
