America needs Christianity because America needs a memory. Understand this reality: if there is no church, there is no America.
The second sentence of the Declaration of Independence – part of the covenant our godly forefathers made – says, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
These rights exist not because the government decided it, but because God Almighty decreed it. Our founders were in agreement with the Apostle Paul when he wrote, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty and freedom.”
This truth will offend nearly everybody. Muslims don’t believe this, and if they get a greater Muslim voice in this country, we won’t have a country anymore. Atheists don’t believe this. The liberal teachers and college professors running our schools today don’t believe this.
There are people on our Supreme Court who do not believe this. The racists among us don’t believe this.
Christians are the only people in America who believe in what America is all about. America needs the church to be the church because America needs a conscience. Without the church, there is no conscience.
As the church in general, and the Tribe of OpenDoor Church in specific, do you believe in the freedom Jesus brings? If you do, you’ll be offering it to everyone you meet! If you do, you’ll testify to the love and transformation He brings.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. – Revelation 12:11
If you love your life as an American Christian and a member of the OpenDoor tribe, lose it for Jesus. Serve. Love. Testify. Redeem.
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO LOSE YOUR LIFE FOR THE CAUSE OF CHRIST. BE THE CHURCH BY LOVING PEOPLE INTO THE KINGDOM.

LEADING THE FIGHT
Make freedom your cry and mercy your vengeance. The Lord calls you to be a bad motor scooter so continue to fight darkness with the light of truth.
LEADING THE FIGHT
On the holy ground what would be called Texas, a general with the righteous cause of freedom raced across the battlefield of San Jacinto. Vastly outnumbered and in broad daylight, Sam Houston was so far ahead of the rest of his men that he drew all the fire from Santa Anna’s Mexican army.
With two horses shot out from under him, Houston limped toward the enemy pointing a sword, yelling, “Remember the Alamo! Remember Goliad!”
Although never a king, Sam Houston would soon be the president of the nation of Texas. Though he was never actually a king, he was a proven warrior. I love a warrior king!
That’s why I love Jesus. You see, real Christians don’t just serve a king. They serve a passionate, fearless warrior king.
The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. – Exodus 15:3
Get this: not only is Jesus not scared of the battles you and I face, He actually gets revved up about the prospect of another glorious scrap for our sake! Jesus is no wimp and we shouldn’t be either.
Sign me up to serve with Christians who have the guts to proclaim Jesus in a day where good is being called evil and vice versa. Is that you? Are you a bad motor scooter for Jesus? If you are, let’s battle together as we follow our fearless warrior King!
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KNOW JESUS AS THE WARRIOR KING HE IS. LET HIM FIGHT FOR YOU AS YOU BATTLE TO SHOW THE WORLD HIS GOODNESS. TO GOD BE THE GLORY, GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!

MOB RULE
God speaks of a day when offense will increase, but that day is not for you! Forgiveness trumps offense. Think about who you need to forgive and start down that road today. Don’t let offenses destroy you.
MOB RULE
I believe America is the greatest nation the world has ever seen. That’s why it’s so hard to watch the moral decay of the last eight years. In my opinion, we have replaced truth with drama and our once great society has been replaced by the mob.
The mob doesn’t care who is right or wrong. To the mob, all that matters is who has the biggest bandwagon, the most popular celebrities, or the loudest mouthpieces in the “lame stream” media. This is a demonic spirit you need to recognize and make certain you don’t partner with.
You see, the mob is a cruel master. The mob must be entertained. There is no reasoning with the mob. It turns on itself time and time again, wreaking havoc on all in its path, and to what end? Justice? The mob doesn’t care about justice, only about destruction.
Like a swarm of locusts, the mob will consume and destroy at its pleasure until there is nothing left. It’s primary target? Jesus. The Bible. God. You. Me.
The Bible warns of a day when good would be called evil and evil good. Thanks to technology, you and I have the ability to be offended 24/7. Being offended is easy and it often feels good. Heck, being offended is addictive, just look at the mob!
Easily offended? Find yourself jumping on the bandwagon of politics, social agendas or just pointing out the sins of others? God has something to say about that.
Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes! – Matthew 18:7
We could be offended all day every day, but that would turn us into angry hate mongers. Don’t comment on that Facebook post or forward that email. Put down your picket signs and petitions. Why? Because it’s the devil’s distraction. It keeps you from focusing on the only thing that matters: bringing people to Jesus in these last days.
So stay out of the mob. Rebuke the collective. Get off that bandwagon. Testify to God’s goodness and saving grace. The days are short so don’t lose focus!
A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense. – Proverbs 19:11
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DROP THE DISTRACTIONS. FOCUS ON FINDING THE LOST AND OFFERING THEM JESUS.

TRESPASSES, INIQUITIES AND IDOLS
You are mine and I am yours! Our relationship is like no other! No thing and no one will satisfy you. I am the One True God who is and was and always will be.
TRESPASSES, INIQUITIES AND IDOLS
When God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, He was saying, “We’re going to have a book written in stone and you’re going down there to blow everybody’s mind.”
Then God said, “Oh, and I want you to make a real big deal out of the second one.”
You shall not make for yourself a carved image and likeness of anything but that is in the heaven above, the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me. – Exodus 20:4-5
Notice God says He will visit the iniquities – not the trespasses – of the fathers down to the third and fourth generation. What does that mean? There is a difference between trespasses and iniquities.
In the book of Isaiah, the Bible says, “He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for iniquities.” A wound is when you bleed on the outside, so a transgression is when you sin on the outside.
A bruise is when you bleed on the inside. Iniquity is something you’re born with. It’s on the inside, in the DNA. When you sin on the inside, it’s because of your iniquity. You can say, “I’m not responsible for my sin. I was born this way!” You’re right. You were.
But you have to take responsibility because you have a choice – to hate God or love Him. When you turn to idols instead of Jesus, the consequences are not only dire, they get passed down to your kids and their kids because you teach it to them.
So what’s your god? Self? Entertainment? Money? Work? Relationships? Ministry? Achievement? Whatever it is, it’s a poor substitute – or idol – for God Almighty. You have a choice. Choose God and He will bless your bloodline.
…But showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep my commandments. – Exodus 20:6
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO OVERCOME YOUR INIQUITY. CHOOSE TO LOVE AND FOLLOW JESUS. LEAD THE WAY FOR YOUR GENERATIONS TO COME.

BAGGAGE VS. LUGGAGE
It’s time to let go of the baggage weighing you down and let God carry it. Jesus already carried your baggage to the cross so you wouldn’t have to. Let go and let God!
BAGGAGE VS. LUGGAGE
When Leanna and I first got married, she’d cry and say, “I don’t really have a testimony. I’ve been good all my life…” Of course, you know me. I’d say, “That’s horrible! Why don’t you go do something bad?”
My wife really does live a consecrated life. She doesn’t even say damn and that’s in the Bible! Where does she come from? She’s just a good girl and she used to be concerned with that. Because she never drank, did drugs or rebel against authority, she didn’t know what her testimony should be.
I tell her, “Sweetie, your testimony is that you fell in love with Jesus at an early age and God kept you from those things. You didn’t have to get all dirtied up and go through the pain and consequences the rest of us did.”
That’s a good testimony and it doesn’t mean she doesn’t have ongoing, life-changing revelations in her life. I can tell you, she’s not the same as she was five years ago. She’s growing and progressing in the Holy Spirit.
Heck, I’m not the same as I was five years ago. I hope you aren’t either. I hope you and I are going to continue to grow because we continue to fall in love with Jesus in new and more awesome ways. When that happens, there will be another Exodus in our lives.
Things that were, are going to exit because they are no longer part of my testimony. There will always be attitudes, ways of thinking, habits, people and places that need to go away if I’m going to move forward. I don’t want any baggage. I just want luggage!
That’s my prayer for you. That old things that drag you down and are heavy to carry would fall away. May Jesus give you luggage – light and ready to be filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and a list of souls you’re taking to heaven with you! Now that’s traveling light!

THE RIGHT WAY TO DO THINGS
Carry the name and the presence of God in a way that pleases Him. You are an ambassador of Christ when things go right or wrong. Glorify God in all things.
THE RIGHT WAY TO DO THINGS
I can’t stand it when things aren’t done right, especially in the body of Christ. Like most leaders, movers and shakers, I get a God-given vision and I want to see it through – the right way.
The Lord made one thing crystal clear to me about the work you and I do for him: Just as there is a right way to do all things, there is a right way to handle those things which are not done right.
Make whatever situation you have been handed glorify the Lord. Remember my mantra: blessed are the flexible. Retain your witness and trust the Holy Spirit to lead you through what sometimes feels like failure – painful failure.
Know this: there will be a time for corrections after the situation is over. However, at that critical point, Jesus is trusting you to make the most of a mess – and the most of His name!
If you worked at a large corporation where the boss was on the top floor and you never saw him, but you worked with his daughter, and she was always angry, blaming others, firing people and letting everyone know what a bad job they were doing, what would you think of her father, the boss man?
You would think he is just like his angry, messed up daughter!
Remember, we bear the family name of Jesus Christ. When we lose it, pass the buck or attack other Christians when things don’t go as we planned, we’re putting a black mark on our heavenly Father’s reputation. This is also called “taking His name in vain,” and it’s one of the Ten Commandments.
“You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. – Exodus 20:7
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO REMEMBER YOUR FATHER’S GOOD NAME. YOUR ACTIONS ARE A WITNESS TO HIS GOODNESS AND MERCY, SO SHOW GOODNESS AND MERCY ESPECIALLY WHEN THINGS ARE NOT GOING AS PLANNED!

WHAT’S IN A NAME?
You cannot give what you don’t have. Receive My love and you will excel at giving it to others.
WHAT’S IN A NAME?
That’s a good question. For many of us, pride is in a name. We say, “We’re Brewers. We don’t act like that.” I’ve heard this one many times in my life when I made a mess out of things, “Brewers are better than that.”
God Almighty takes pride in His name. It’s His calling card – His reputation, and it’s good. So when He told the children of Israel in the third commandment not to take His name in vain, He means business!
Unfortunately, there’s a mess of confusion around this command. People think it’s referring to using God’s Holy name as a cuss word. Well, folks, that there is blasphemy. Remember, He didn’t say “Don’t say my name in vain.”
Taking His name means this: When you became a Christian, you became part of God’s family. You took on the name of Christ. See it? Christ-ian. If you take on His name, then don’t act like Christ would act, there could be hell to pay!
“Do not be fooled, God will not be mocked. For whatever a man sows, so shall he reap.” – Galatians 6:7
In other words, God will not let you mock Him or His mighty name with your bad behavior. He will not stand for you and I misrepresenting Him and giving Him a bad rep to the very people He’s trying to save. There are consequences to such behavior!
Yes, when you sow hell, you harvest death, destruction and a whole bunch of enemies that want to tear your life apart. You brought that mess down on yourself. God didn’t have to lift a finger.
He does, however, lift a finger to pull you out. When your words and actions don’t line up with God’s character and family values of love and honor, repent. It’s never too late to run back to the Father and represent the family name with respect. Be proud to be called a Christian!
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO WEAR THE NAME OF CHRIST WELL. THEY’LL KNOW WE ARE CHRISTIANS BY OUR LOVE, SO LOVE WELL TODAY!

HIGHLY FAVORED OF THE LORD
The Lord is glad for your service. He loves it when He can count on you to bring goodness into a world of evil. You bring light into darkness and point toward your Savior and King! You are HIs favored child!
HIGHLY FAVORED OF THE LORD
If you’ve been told that you can wish positive things into existence, you’ve been sold a bill of goods by the father of lies, Satan. While the world wants you to believe wishful thinking will bring victory, it doesn’t. Why not?
Because wishful thinking is all about your desires and leaves out the plans God has for you. It’s not enough to want those things or to work at them when you have the time or resources.
If you want to see God move in your life, ministry, family or job, you cannot move to the next level or truly bless others until you not only go after those things but are consistent.
That means you show up every time you say you will with the right attitude and you strategically plan for a positive outcome. This always includes glorifying God.
You know I enjoy crazy favor with the Lord. How did I get that? Twenty-two years ago, I was consistent with a little – taking groceries to a few elderly people on weekends.
I could have done that once, patted myself on the back and moved on. I could have used any number of excuses to move along – time, family needs, my own financial mess – but I didn’t.
People were counting on me. For many, it was life and death. What would have happened if I decided to change my game plan and say, “Someone else can do it for a while,” because I was tired, discouraged or off wishful thinking for something else?
I enjoy God’s favor because I don’t fall out or lose focus. God knows I’m strategic about the kingdom and finding ways to bring heaven to earth.
Want favor? Find the inconsistencies in your service and repent! Make a plan to take that territory for Jesus, come rain or shine!
All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along. – Galatians 2:10
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO KEEP GOING EVEN WHEN OTHERS FALL BY THE WAYSIDE. PUT WISHFUL THINKING ASIDE AND DO SOMETHING TO GLORIFY JESUS!

The saying goes that home is where the heart is; Jesus says, “My home is in your heart.”
HANDLING YOUR HATERS 101
If you are chasing after God and His purpose for your life, you are going to have people who don’t like what you’re doing or the success you are having. It’s human nature to covet what someone else has, especially blessings.
So, how do you handle your haters? Let me give you three simple steps.
1) Be a purpose-driven person. Remain confident in your calling no matter what! When you have a purpose, you can focus without being distracted by your haters. The Bible says the face of Jesus was set like a flint toward Jerusalem and His ultimate purpose. Yours should be too.
And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem – Luke 9:51
2) Know something about your haters. The Bible says that when the first king of Israel was anointed, the children of Belial came out to tell him he could never be successful. Here is the guy who is going to take everyone to the next level and the very people criticizing him are, in fact, worthless, trifling men who are too dysfunctional themselves to get anything done.
Don’t listen to people like that. Don’t let people who can’t get it together keep you from having it together!
3) Know you are in good company. The Bible is filled with great men and women who dealt with haters and naysayers. Jesus Himself said that if the world hates you, it is because it first hated Him. Yes, your family resemblance will work against you because the world is evil and loves darkness. If you are a shining light, you will be persecuted, but take heart, Jesus has overcome the world!
O God, the proud have risen against me, And a mob of violent men have sought my life, And have not set You before them. – Psalms 86:14
TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO BE A PERSON OF GODLY VISION AND PURPOSE. IGNORE THE NAYSAYERS AND CALL YOURSELF BLESSED BECAUSE YOU ARE IN GOOD COMPANY!
