BLOOD MONEY
I declare in Jesus name that I choose your promises for my life and the lives of those around me. I will follow you and I will not shed innocent blood with my hands or with my words. Your promises and purposes will be fulfilled.
BLOOD MONEYLet me tell you, friends, Jesus loved Judas. He did. He loved that brother and he saw great potential in that man, but I really don’t think Judas ever saw what Jesus saw in him. One of the most powerful passages in the Bible is this:
This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it. – John 12:6
Jesus was not stupid and he was not deceived. He gave Judas the money box—made him the treasurer—because he knew the end from the beginning. He knew what Judas was going to do and he was setting that brother up for victory. Jesus was saying, “Judas, here is the money. Prove the devil a liar and choose me today. Really follow me today.”
In the end, Judas chose wrong. He took the money and sold out innocent blood. My friends, blood money is a big deal in the Kingdom of God. In the Old Testament, it is forbidden to take money for the life of a murder victim—something we today would call restitution. Why is that?
Because it literally means the rich get away with murder if they can pay for a life. They are selfish and care nothing about the judgment of God because they can pay the price. But they can’t! That life is priceless with promises and a future. Judas took the money and found out it was a higher price than he wanted to pay.
Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” – Matthew 27:33
Many look at this and think Judas we repentant. I’m not so sure. If he was, that was between him and God. We know that he took his own life and that he fell into the Valley of Broken Vessels and was “split asunder.” Judas was a broken man who spent time with the fixer, the healer, firsthand and still chose wrong.
What I see when I look at that passage is that hands that shed innocent blood are one of the seven things God hates in Proverbs 6:16-19. Why does he hate the shedding of innocent blood? Because His life and promises for each person are in the blood. Identity, purpose and destiny are in the blood.
My friends, if you are reading this today saying, “I never murdered anybody. I don’t have to worry about this,” let me ask you this: have you gossiped? Have you slandered someone or told a lie about that person so someone else would like you more than them? That is murder. You’re murdering a reputation, an identity and taking the purposes and promises away from that person. If that’s you, stop it! Just like Judas, you have been given the moneybag. What will you do with it?

WHO’S ON TRIAL HERE?
I declare in Jesus’ name you are the first and the last, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You are the Great I Am and the One who created it all. I belong to you, Jesus, and today, I proclaim you belong to me too!
WHO’S ON TRIAL HERE?To me, the exchange between Pontius Pilate and Jesus is a deeply complex and interesting one. As Jesus stood before Pilate and the governor asked, him, “Hey, are you the King of the Jews?” and Jesus said to him, “You say it.” What?!?
Jesus is trying to get Pilate to say that he is the king of the Jews. He’s like, “You say it. That’s what I’m here for right? You tell me.”
Notice that Jesus did not respond to the Pharisees or Herod. He doesn’t even look Herod in the eye. He’s not giving him the time of day because that joker is not only a fake king, he’s not even a Jew! He’s an Edomite—a descendant of Esau whom God said he hated because he sold his birthright for a bowl of beans.
But Pilate? Jesus is like, “You tell me.” I think that Pilate is starting to get it that Jesus is not actually the person on trial here. Pilate is. And that’s a big moment in his life and yours. You know friends, there are just certain tests you’re going to have to pass where Jesus is concerned, where your faith is concerned.
Are you going to pass the buck, point the finger and say, “This is not about me. It’s about that, that and that. I wash my hands of this,” and heaven is looking at you and a judgment is going to be given out because you’re past your threshold? You’re in this place of testing now and it’s like, “OK, you’re actually the one that’s on trial here.”
Know this: Father God has set you up for victory. Pilate was set up for victory and when the rubber hit the road so to speak, he passed the buck and pointed the finger at the Jews who were more than willing to take the blame. They even said, “Let his blood be on us and on our children!” Wow!
Today, you are standing face to face with Jesus Christ and Jesus is saying, “Tell me who I am.” He’s not asking you this so you will fail, but so you will succeed in knowing exactly who he is to you.
Even though Pilate failed that test, he did have the right answer. Check this out: The sign above the cross said “JESUS OF NAZARETH, KING OF THE JEWS.” John refers to the writing as a “title,” but Mark and Matthew refer to it as an accusation.
And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS. – Mark 15:26
In Hebrew, the words read from right to left:
Yehoshua (Jesus)
Hanatzri (of Nazareth)
Vemelech (the King)
Hayhoodem (of the Jews)
The first four letters of the words are YHVH–or YAVEH—the one true creator God! In Hebrew pictograms, YHVH also reads “BEHOLD THE HAND, BEHOLD THE NAIL.”
Did Pilate fail the test but pass the final exam? We don’t know. We just know this: you and I are set up to succeed and to pass this test. I’ve studied. Have you?

PAIN FOR GAIN
I declare in Jesus’ name that I will become less so you, King Jesus, can become greater in my life. I belong to you and you nailed the passions and desires of my sinful nature to the cross with you. You have made me an overcomer!
PAIN FOR GAINThe walk of Jesus Christ is actually a painful walk. The American church does not want to hear that. They’re like, “Sign me up for supernatural prozac. I vote yes to the kingdom of Bible studies, potlucks, basketball games and endless conferences.” That’s the American church and it’s not a real walk with King Jesus. I’m sorry if this seems harsh, but here’s a reality check:
He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. – Isaiah 53:3
When you truly walk with Jesus, it’s such a painful walk. It’s so painful, you need to have the power of the Holy Spirit to comfort you. It’s true.
I don’t mean it’s a horrific walk. What’s real is you’re going to be confronted constantly with the world you’re living in, with your ability to think and process, with your finances, with who you are to other people, with your own identity, with what you’re capable of, with what’s been in your past and how God’s calling you into this different future. The list goes on and on. And I’m just going to tell you this: those places are often hurtful places.
Can you get past the offense of the hurt? A lot of people cannot, and it’s very important that you understand that Jesus is actually the “rock of offense.” What does that mean? It means this: If you’re going to walk with him, you’re going to constantly stub your toe and be confronted with issues you have to overcome.
But know this: stubbing your toe will save your life and it will save it for eternity! Think of Jesus as a parachute. If you get on an airplane and I give you a parachute and tell you, “This parachute is not only comfortable, it’s fashionable. Everyone has one and best of all, it will make all your problems go away,” what are you going to think an hour into that flight when the turbulence hits?
You’re going to rip that parachute off and say, “I tried that Jesus thing and it didn’t work for me. It was uncomfortable and it did not make the turbulence disappear like I was promised.”
It’s only when you know that parachute is uncomfortable—it’s heavy and it’s not fashionable in most circles—but it will save your life when the plane goes down, because this is the truth: the plane is going down. It is. We all die, so keep that parachute of Jesus on! Keep stubbing your toe against the Rock that is Him. The pain is for our gain. Why? Because Jesus paid that price for that parachute and Jesus is enough.

JESUS IS ENOUGH!
I declare in Jesus’ name, I am enough. I was bought with a very high price and I say, “Yes” to the blood of Jesus in every part of my life because Jesus is enough!
JESUS IS ENOUGHIn the light of the demonic globalist agenda, the mess on the news and the uncertainty of how things are going to be in the future as the world sets itself on fire, it’s important for us to remember that Jesus is enough.
We need to get that in our spirits today. When we could be latching onto despair or fear, we have to say, “It’s OK. I am not un-equipped because I have Jesus and Jesus is enough. I’m not too poor. I’m not too stupid because I have Jesus and he is enough.”
This is something I deal with all the time. Most days the man in the mirror says, “Hey, man. You just don’t have the head to figure this out.” I deal with that all day long, every day. And I have to pray and seek the Lord on it every day because I know that’s not the Father talking.
Sometimes, it’s the voice of the enemy, but most days it’s the “in-a-me.” Can I tell you something? The Bible says both of those are liars. Satan is called the “father of lies, a thief and a murderer.” What does he want to kill? Your faith in God, your belief in Jesus, and your promise and purpose in the kingdom. If he can do that, he can kill those things in your kids too.
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it? – Jeremiah 17:9
And that man in the mirror—that voice in your head that spouts the negative narrative? He is a liar as well. There’s no negative narrative with the Father, the Holy Spirit or with Jesus. Why? Because Jesus’ blood—his death and resurrection—is enough. It paid for every sin, every shortcoming, every dead end.
I believe in simple solutions for complicated issues because I have Jesus and Jesus is enough. And I believe I can make just one little bitty tiny move and God makes it look like I’m a genius when really, I’m clueless. I’ve seen him do it in my life and the lives of those around me. So, today my friend, cut off the negative narrative and tell that voice, “I have Jesus and Jesus is enough!”

WARRIORS DIG SCARS
I declare in Jesus’ name that Jesus paid the price for me. He is a mighty warrior and his scars are eternal proof of his life, death and resurrection. I will not doubt or fear!
WARRIORS DIG SCARSJesus’ resurrected body could look like anything. He could be any race or every race. He could be tall or short. He could look like anything he wanted, but know this. Whatever he looks like, he keeps his scars.
“But Pastor Troy, Jesus is the son of God. He’s perfect. Doesn’t that mean he doesn’t have any scars?
No. That means you and I don’t have any scars, but Jesus keeps his. You see, King Jesus is a warrior. He’s not a dad-gum hippy. He’s the original bad motor scooter who took on hell with a water pistol. When he walks into a room, all of heaven takes notice:
Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah – Psalms 24:9-10
The Word calls him the Captain of the Lord’s Armies, or the “Heavenly Host.” They are some supernatural bad cats, and Jesus is the baddest cat of them all. Warriors dig scars. They are the spoils of war, proof of combat. Warriors are proud of them because they tell a story.
What story do Jesus’ scars tell? Yours. Mine. It’s crazy cool.
Not only does he keep his scars because he’s proud of them, he keeps those scars so nobody can ever say he did not give his life to redeem us. The devil’s got no ground to stand on. The scars are proof. Our doubts are erased the minute Jesus holds out those nail-scarred hands. Just ask him. He’ll be glad to show you.

JESUS IS ENOUGH: Blood Money & Blood Curses
Sunday, April 24, 2022
Pastor Troy Brewer, OpenDoor Church, Burleson, TX
In light of the demonic global agenda and uncertainty of how things will be in the future, it’s important for us to remember that Jesus is enough.
IS JESUS ENOUGH FOR YOU?
Matthew 27:1-26 – When morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people plotted against Jesus to put Him to death. 2 And when they had bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor. (Judas Hangs Himself) 3 Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.”
And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!” 5 Then he threw down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went and hanged himself. 6 But the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, because they are the price of blood.” 7 And they consulted together and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. 8 Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day. 9 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying, “And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the value of Him who was priced, whom they of the children of Israel priced, 10 and gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me.” 11 Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” Jesus said to him, “It is as you say.” 12 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing. 13 Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?” 14 But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly. (Taking the Place of Barabbas) 15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished. 16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. 17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” 18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy. 19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.” 20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” They said, “Barabbas!” 22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
23 Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?”
But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!” 24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.” 25 And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.” 26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified
Blood Money & Blood Curse
(THE DREAM OF TROY’S DAD & BLOOD MONEY)
Dreams have a huge part in every Christians life and warning dreams play a key. There are 20 dreams and 20 visions in the Bible. Joseph had several warning dreams telling him what to do at the during the early child hood of Jesus. The maji were warned in a dream not to go back to Herod. Then when Jesus was grown and being judged by Pilate…
Matthew 27:19 –While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him a message, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous Man; for last night I suffered greatly in a dream because of Him.”
Blood money is a big deal in heaven.
Blood Money some sort of compensation paid by an offender (usually a murderer) or their family group to the family or kin group of the victim. RESTITUTION.
As a person’s life is considered as being the property of God. Judaism forbids the taking of blood-money for the life of a murdered victim.
The story of Barabbas
Similar to the Yom Kippur tradition, one sacrifice is set free and one dies, which happens to Jesus and Jesus Barabbas in Matthew 27. Barabbas, a criminal on the brink of receiving his execution, gets set free by the Jewish people when they are given a choice between releasing either Barabbas or Jesus from their penalty, a customary pardon as part of the Passover Feast (think about the American pardoning of a turkey by the President on Thanksgiving). The Bible says Barabbas was a murderer, a robber and an insurrectionist.
“Let His blood be on our hands and on our children’s heads.”
The Jewish nation did indeed suffer for their rejection of their Messiah. On His way to the cross, Jesus hints at a coming judgment (Luke 23:31). Within one generation of the crucifixion of Christ, Jerusalem was totally destroyed by the Romans. The Jews were scattered, and for almost 1,900 years (until 1948), they had no homeland. There were spiritual ramifications, as well, as the gospel was brought to the more receptive Gentiles (see Acts 18:6). The apostle Paul likens the Gentiles’ inclusion in salvation to wild branches being grafted into a cultivated olive tree. The Jews (the natural branches) are not completely forsaken: “If they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again” (Romans 11:23).
In rejecting Christ, the Jews “stumbled over the stumbling stone” (Romans 9:32; cf. Isaiah 8:14). But they are not cursed by God. Paul asks the rhetorical question: “Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew” (Romans 11:1–2). In fact, there is coming a time when “all Israel will be saved” (Romans 11:26).
How can the Jews be “cursed” when God had made an unconditional covenant with Abraham? “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:2–3). God also promised the Jews a large extent of land in Genesis 15. Israel has never had full possession of the land God promised, so the prophecy still awaits fulfillment during the Millennial Kingdom.
Jesus: the Face of the Father
If your not sure what God is like, Jesus is enough.
If you don’t know the Bible, read the red letters
Jesus is enough.
Jesus is perfect theology.
Comparing Jesus to anything else. In Philippians chapter 3, Paul said,
Philippians 3:7-9 – “But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.”
He was describing all the things you and I may gain in this life: money, a good job, respect from the community, a great name/reputation, houses, cars and anything that the world presents does not even come close to what Jesus offers.
The Love of the Father through Jesus and the love of people ( Fame )
John 15:13 – Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
Romans 8:35 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
Romans 8:37 – No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
If you don’t know if your loved or not Jesus is enough
The approval of Jesus vrs the approval of the father
Matthew 25:23 – His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.”
The favor of God v. the Favor of men
Intimacy with Jesus v. sexual sin
The Peace of Jesus v. getting High
For knowing Jesus, you and I gain breathtaking, amazing and miraculous things like peace. For the word of God says in the first part of
John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.”
For knowing Jesus, we gain true, unconditional, mind-blowing love. Psalm 63:3 declares, “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.”
Having money and power v. the riches of the Heaven through Jesus.

JUMPING THROUGH HOOPS
I declare in Jesus’ name that I believe in miracles. I know you are working all things for my good behind the scenes and in front of my eyes. I will see your wonders!
JUMPING THROUGH HOOPSI wonder how many times you’ve had an encounter with God and you didn’t even know it. I wonder how many miracles King Jesus has done for you and you’re still saying, “I ain’t never seen a miracle. God doesn’t love me or he just doesn’t exist.”
Can I be honest with you? That’s a you problem. That is not a God problem. It’s not that God has never done a miracle. It’s that you’ve never seen it. My friend, I want to tell you that you can repent and say, “Jesus, I’m getting with your program.”
Just because God speaks doesn’t mean you know it. And just because you know it, doesn’t mean you understand it. And you may understand it, but you don’t know what to do with it. And just because you know what to do with it, doesn’t mean you know what the outcome will be. It can be offensive, but let me tell you this: it’s worth it to work through the offense.
Don’t assume that if God does something, you’re going to know it. Chances are, you’re not. Not unless you’re looking. When Jesus rose from the dead, he’s in situations and places they don’t know he’s there. And when he’s not there, they don’t know why he’s not. So it is with you and I today.
We’re going through a time when the world is setting itself on fire and it’s like, “I wish God was here.” My friend, he is here! And when we can’t see him, we think he’s abandoned us and we say, “I’m done. Unless God jumps through this hoop and that hoop, I’m done.”
Jesus show up in that place. He’ll also show up in the places you can’t see him and do amazing miracles you don’t know about. What if a reckless car miraculously ran out of gas before it came your way? What if that manager was put in place at that next level company so they could see your value and hire you for that life-changing job?
My friend, believe in miracles. Look for them and know God is doing them all the time as he gets you to your destiny.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. – Romans 8:28

THE WITNESS OF WOMEN
I declare in Jesus’ name that my testimony is true. Jesus saved me from my sin. He changed my heart and healed my mind. He has transformed my life and I am walking in the light of His truth.
THE WITNESS OF WOMENThe first preachers of the Lord Jesus Christ were women. While you may not see the significance of this in our 21st century western world, let me tell you this: nobody else in the ancient Middle East would have done this but Jesus. He breaks all the rules and I love that about him.
In those days and in many cultures, women were considered property. They were literally owned by their husbands or fathers. They could be sold into slavery and that’s one of the things we still deal with today in that part of the world, especially with Arab cultures and now Muslims.
While it wasn’t exactly like that in the Jewish culture, women in the day of Jesus had no standing in society. They were considered so lowly, they were not educated. Because they were not educated, they were not considered capable of studying God’s word or worthy of testifying in a court of law.
Now, if I was robbed in those days and the only witness to back up my story on who did this to me was a woman, I would be toast. That’s how little men thought of women in that time and place.
Not Jesus. No, sir! Jesus broke all the rules. One of the first rules he broke when he and his followers started preaching, teaching and healing was to go through Samaria. I’m sure the disciples were horrified as Samaritans were half Jewish. The Jews wanted nothing to do with Samaritans.
But Jesus made a beeline to Samaria for one reason: to meet a broken, misfit of a woman and ask her for a drink of water. A conversation, forbidden by gender, social and religious rules of the day, begins:
The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.” – John 4:19-20
She looks at Jesus, the Messiah, and says, “Where is God? I want to know where God is so I can worship him.” He was right there in front of her and he made her the first missionary as she spread his fame all over that region—to Gentiles!
Who found the empty tomb? Who ran through the streets to spread the message that Jesus was alive? Women. Women were the first witnesses in a day when they could not testify in a court of law. And here comes Jesus, and he’s like, “I’m here to abolish the law so listen to my witnesses and they are women. They love me and they are trustworthy.”
The rules go right out the window when Jesus shows up because the scriptures are not God. They tell of God and testify to Jesus, but they are not Him. Jesus is perfect theology. He demonstrated the Father and brought the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and quicken our spirits. You and I can testify to that!

UPGRADE IS A “GOOD” THING
All of God’s creation was “good,” except man, who was “very good.” When you are redeemed by the blood of Jesus, God sees you just as pure and good as the first man, Adam, at his creation. This is a time for God’s goodness to fill you up in areas you’ve never expected before.
UPGRADE IS A ‘GOOD’ THINGFrom a created earth with endless possibilities, God created us and coded our DNA, just like the universe, to be people attracted to the next level and generally happy with anything related to improvement.
At each unfinished stage, God announces His goodness over you the way He did at the end of every day in the Genesis account. When he sees you complete one small step toward something better, at the end of the day, He declares it monumental and says,
“…it is good.” -Genesis 1:21
Yes, your universe is still expanding. So why would we dare think it’s OK to not progress and go forward?
TODAY IS A GREAT DAY FOR YOU TO TAKE A DELIBERATE STEP FORWARD AND CELEBRATE YOUR PROGRESSION WITH JESUS HIMSELF.
From my book: Living Life /Forward
