Father's Day

This year Father's Day has a little extra meaning for my family. My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year and had to undergo surgery to have his prostate removed. It was a very difficult time for us all because my dad is the heart of my family.

We knew nothing about his type of cancer, and we had to learn the information very quickly in order to make educated decisions about his health.

I will admit, he did get excited once he learned a robot would operate on him. If he'd felt better...

New Guilty Pleasure

I saw this on Twitter (seriously, how did I live in the time before #failwhale?) and sort of loved it. I think, my friends, that you will, too.

The store is called Locher's. They sell handbags, jewelry, apparel, with a twist.

Check this out. Lemme show you my faves.

The jewelry:

Or maybe this one:

Emergence by Kim Knox

It's here! It's here! Emergence is finally here! After all the months of waiting and knowing how awesome this book is without being able to share it with anyone--it's here!

The concept for the world is fascinating, the hero is a sweetie, and I love it when Kim goes the fantasy route (plus a little birdie told me there might be a sequel in the works). *squee*

Yes, I am a total fangirl. I can't help myself.

I have extra reason to squee this time around because Kim dedicated this book to...ME! I st...

Six Sentence Sunday

I have deleted about half as many words as this MS will have in the end. Here's an excerpt that may or may not still be there when the editing dust settles. ;)

Graden had the door open and waiting by the time Searcy reached him. His eyes widened and lips parted in shock. "My lord, your face—"

His face stung like a sonofabitch. The area around his right eye burned. The razor sharp pain hadn't registered at first, but he was feeling it just fine now, thank you very much.

Check out the official pa...

Academy Award Winning Movie Trailer

I saw this video making the rounds on Twitter today, and now I see why. It's pretty much fantastic. I laughed until my sides hurt. It could so easily be applied to books and just, yeah. Watch it. It will be the best 3:22 you spend on Youtube this week.

The Greatest Love Story Never Told

For years, my friends and I have enjoyed tormenting our beloved Jayzee about her love of Jericho Barrons from Karen Moning's Fever Series. When Jayzee learned Karen modeled Barrons after actor Eric Etebari, she fell quickly and desperately in love with him.

This is the cover for their untold love story. (It might be a love triangle [read threesome:] if you count the Z-Lo.)

This stunning cover art was created by Victoria "I cause all the trouble while Hailey is completely innocent" Miller. You ca...

Six Sentence Sunday

Welcome back for more Six Sentence Sunday. This excerpt is from Hellebore. Here we go...

"What I'm asking isn't difficult." Searcy's deep voice filled the small space. "I only want to take you to dinner."

"I don't even know you."

His cool breath fanned her cheeks as warmth from his body crashed into hers. With trembling fingers, she reached out and met a wall of hard muscle.

Steamside Chronicles

[image error] Emily Fenwick, former NYPD, is now reluctant defender of 1890 New York. Unfortunately for Emily, who hates "the creepy stuff," she ignored her inner voice, went to a carnival in Central Park, and entered a Victorian tent in hopes a psychic would have some encouraging news about her woefully boring love life. The guarantee she receives of meeting a tall, dark, and handsome stranger comes with a huge catch--he lives in an alternate dimension of the past.

Jack Pettigrew leads a quirky band of los...
