Paranormal Pretties
Today, I should have blogged about my birthday, or cake, or cupcakes, or something tasty. Instead, I blogged about five cool tips you can use in Word 2007.
Check it out here.

A Funny Thing Happened
I woke up one morning about three years ago and decided I wanted to write a book. After I wrote it (120K), I wanted someone to look at it that I wouldn't have to make eye contact with. That's when I found Absolute Write. There was a critique section there, so I pasted a chapter and sat back to see what people thought.
I was surprised that even though I needed help [read as: LOTS of help], everyone seemed to like the story idea. Even better, everyone loved my characters.
Still, I needed help...

Six Sentence Sunday
Here are a few more lines from my favorite leading man.
Nathaniel growled low in his throat as the overhead lights flipped on and seared his eyes. He'd been sitting in the dark for a reason.
"What are you doing?" Sais sniffed the air as he rounded the arm of the couch. "Holy hell, what have you done?"
He'd tried to numb his conscience and failed.
Head on over to the official SSS blog for more Six Sunday Snippets. Enjoy!

New Everlong Review :)
Review sites are so back up these days, it has become common to receive a new review months after your book has been released. I was happy to experience this phenomenon today when Bitten by Books gave Everlong 5 tombstones, and a glowing review.
As for the book itself, I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am with Everlong by Hailey Edwards. It's a story about forgiveness, breaking out of your shell, and allowing yourself to love someone with all your heart. Madelyn is stubborn, spoiled...

Six Sentence Sunday
I'm back to work on Wicked this week. This excerpt is one I'm sure many people have seen before, but I'm posting from sections I've already revised.
Plus, this is one of my favorite parts of the book. The entire first chapter is like magic.
He watched with morbid fascination as momentum carried the truck through the intersection and into oncoming traffic.
Tensing his shoulders in anticipation, he flinched as the truck plowed into the side of a sleek van with a sickening crunch of steel on...

Paranormal Pretties
I blogged today about Dorchester's announcement, but it was more just random thoughts about the publishing industry and the direction we're all headed in.

Vicious Art
It's been a while since I checked in on Vic's cover art. I've been meaning to since she got her big promotion to…*cue dramatic music* Art Director for Breathless Press. Now that I've checked out her latest projects, I've picked my new top three favorites. What do you think?
I remember when she worked on this one. It's my fave so far.
I liked this one, too.
I don't know what draws me in about this last one. The color? You know how I love my golds and fall tones. Or maybe the attention to...

Six Sentence Sunday
I'm slipping in another six from Sugar. I'll be tucking this idea away for a bit while I work on another project, so this is the last you'll see of it for a while.
"And then we have our final competitor, Mae Henries." A smattering of claps rose from the void beyond the soundstage lights. "I want to take a moment," he addressed the crowd in his serious host voice, "to say how lucky we are to have Mae with us today, and how grateful we are she has made a full recovery."
His arm snaked around...

FeverCon Goodies
I promised pics of this a few days ago. I'm actually taking pictures now to send to Leiha and get approval for everything. The bulk of the books, and the book basket, are not here. So I'll have to take pics of those once I pick them up this afternoon.
(I'm working with someone on how to ship the books in the basket, in a nice arrangement, in case I can't make the drive.)
I do have a pic of goodies that are still in my office. These are mostly author signed books and the like, and all donated...
