Sweet Words Well Meant

Last month I blogged (everywhere) that Kim Knox dedicated a book to me. Not just a book, but my personal favorite of hers. And yes, I still squee if I think about it for too long at the time.

The dedication in Emergence looked like this:

To Mandy. And to Hailey, for her patience.

I can't get into all the ways it means so much to me. It's radical that someone I admire said, "Here. This book you love, is for you."

Hang in there, I promise I have a valid reason for skipping down memory lane.

Jane Austen's Fight Club

Oh yes, this was making the rounds today. It's great. I got a kick out of it, as well as a craving for some Brad Pitt ogling.

Six Sentence Sunday

This week's excerpt is another one from Sugar Rush.

"Where does a chicken come into this equation because quite frankly, I'm confused."

"You called me a chicken. You clucked. I took my clothes off. The clothes were stolen. My ass was sunburned."

You can check out more excerpts on the official Six Sentence Sunday site, or check out a couple of the regular contributors.

Have you ever read DARKFEVER by Karen Moning? Would you like to?

I have a box full of Darkfever special edition paperbacks. They are free copies that can't be bought or sold, and they feature a special cover based on the new series-wide cover art redesign.

The question is…who wants one?

I'm giving away five copies on my blog at the moment. (I will probably give more away at a later date.) The first five people to contact me will get them.

You email me your address, through my contact page, and I mail the book. There is no cost to you.

These freebies are part o...

Six Sentence Sunday

This excerpt is from Sugar Rush.

Bree saw blood soaking into the concrete, and her knees went weak. She whipped out her cellphone, punching wrong numbers with numb fingers until a man plucked it from her hand.

"I've already called 9-1-1," he said in a voice she recognized for some reason. "They should be here—" The scream of sirens cut off his response.

"Thank you." She mouthed the words since he wouldn't hear them anyway.

Dry Spell Excerpt

For those who asked about Dry Spell, here is the excerpt I used for the WAW challenge.

"Oh, shit." Lightning hissed as it ping-ponged across the night sky. "Hess, get your feathered ass back here, now."

Annalise leapt, tucked into a graceless roll seconds before a fissure split open the ground where she'd stood.

Glancing over her shoulder, she watched what looked like a grizzled bear climb from the cracked earth. It threw back its head and uttered a  roar that raised the hairs on the back of...

New Music Plus ATL

I am kind of loving this song right now. It's moving my plot bunnies around, and we all know how much help I need in that area these days. I'm up to three books plotted and have zero interest in finishing any of them. Oy. The stress needs to stop. I can't not write, and it sucks tossing out my 2k a day.

Okay, so–Atlanta. I know you guys were wondering why I went. It was sudden. Real sudden. Painful we're leaving at 5am sudden. I seem to live there some weeks, which sucks since you all know...
