Is Process Necessary?

One of the things that Liz, Kathi, Cheryl, and I talked about at the library event on Saturday was our writing process. This is kind of a sensitive topic for me, and I think it’s because I feel like I should have a process, but I’m not at all sure I do. One of the cool things about being a writer is that most of the time, you're not walking carefully down the beaten track. You're skipping or often leaping from one grassy berm to the other. Sometimes you're tiptoeing down that crowned spot in the middle where you could very easily fall off. In the Good Old Summer Time

Like Margie said the other day, it's hot. For the most part I love it; when winters last as long as they do in western Canada, you don't complain about a few hot days. (If you do someone will say, "Wait until January!)

Happy Friday everyone! With getting the kiddos ready for the start of the new school year, it seems like eons ago that I was down in steamy, sultry Orlando for the RWA National Conference. But I

A Hot Memory

August is here and it's hot. Too hot for this pluviophile. 103 yesterday, 106 today. I melt in the sun, not the rain.

But, this type of weather reminds me of my grandmother. She was a complicated woman--and that's a nice way of saying it. She was no-nonsense and didn't mind  telling you if she thought you weren't dressed right or if maybe, you shouldn't have the last cookie.

My Favorite Part of Conference ~ @AuthorKristina Knight

Last week marked the annual RWA Conference - a week(ish) filled with workshops and networking and mentoring and talking and commiserating. It's a week I've only participated in (in person) three times, although I've stalked the social media hashtags longer! I'm not going to recap the entire conference, there isn't enough room; instead, I'm going to tell you about my favorite part of the conference.

What's more fun that a Wrangler on an author panel? Two Wranglers on an author panel! Along with two other amazing romance authors--Kathi Thompson and Cheryl Brooks! The four of us are participating in a panel and books signing on Saturday, August 4 at the Logansport, Indiana Public Library. Check out the great promo card the library did for us!

Back to Christmas Town

Being part of the Christmas Town anthologies has been one of my favorite things ever. The series started with Melinda Curtis, Anna J. Stewart, and Anna Adams writing  Christmas, Actually  in 2014, which was released by Harlequin. The stories were so successful and the authors had so much fun writing them, they wanted to do it again. Harlequin didn't want to release another volume, but they did let us use the location and the characters from the first one.
