Kristina's Christmas Breakfast Casserole

One of my favorite holiday recipes isn't for a sweet treat at all - it's our traditional Christmas morning breakfast. I don't know about you, but the last thing I want to do on Christmas is cook a big meal. This works for m...

Nan's Butterhorns
I thought I was done baking for the holidays, but Liz's cookie recipe yesterday turned that thought on its ear . . . man, don't those look amazing? I may have to pull out the cookie sheets again and give them a try.
Every year as the Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year triad of holiday fun begins, I start getting no-so-subtle hints from family and friends indicating they're getting antsy for my Butterhorns. I've been making them for holiday dinners and to use as gifts for my neighbors for at least...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas... @Liz Flaherty

The reason for this week's title for my post is that, as you can see by this picture taken through my office window, there is whiteness all around us. It's Sunday as I write this, and the snow is still blowing all over the place. It's beautiful, but I don't like it until the wind lies and the snow takes on that stillness that feels like worship. She had several containers of different kinds of cookies, jam-jams, chocolate chip, ginger snaps, and I don’t know what else. (I may have pilfered a few cookies when Mom wasn’t looking.) There was also homemade fruitcake under my bed. She would carefully wrap the loaves in brown pap...

Ornamental Memories

This week, my family has slowly decorated our Christmas Tree, the center of our holiday cheer. One small fact has hindered our progress: we have two cats. Last year, as wee kittens, Jake and Sugar claimed the under-tree area as their own for frolicking. And they nibbled at the wires on the...

And The Stockings Were Hung

by Margie Senechal
This week the Wranglers have been waxing holiday. We've covered songs, movies, presents...
I'm going with stockings because they're my favorite part of Christmas.
I come from a family that doesn't have a lot of generational traditions. The first nine years of my life were spent in four different states, and one foreign country, and never had a Christmas with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins.
