New Year's Traditions 'Round the World by Sarah Raplee

LISTEN UP, READERS! I went down the research rabbit hole and this blog post is the result. Be forewarned. (Repost from RTG)Although many countries and peoples around the world celebrate New Years’ Day on January 1st (according to the Gregorian Calendar,) not every country nor every religion follows the Gregorian Calendar. Goals/New Year’s Resolutions

I've been struggling to write this blog, and I'm not certain why. It’s just days before Christmas, and it seems like it should be a Christmas blog, but I feel like I’ve already done that, so instead I'm going to talk about my goals for 2024. I'm not one for New Year's resolutions.  It is that time of year when I try to stop and take stock of all that has happened this year and how I’ve done with publishing. This is my 11th blog for RTG on this topic. All the things I mentioned last year are still very much in play now.https://romancingthegenres.blogspot.c...

My Favorite Quote by Lynn Lovegreen

Note: This month, many of us are re-posting our favorite blog posts. This originally ran in Romancing the Genres in 2022.There are so many great quotes out there. You can find inspiring quotes about love, life, books, writing, you name it! It was hard to pick my all-time favorite, but one kept coming up for me:  I saw it first in a “cryptoquote” puzzle in the newspaper years ago,

Relaxing for the New Year

I stopped doing New Years Resolutions decades ago. Keeps me from having to begin the year filled with regrets for the promises I failed to keep. But I do keep a set of tips for myself about writing. Writers, the road to publication is hard. So give yourself an extra special gift right now. At the end of each year, I like to sit around the Christmas tree, stare out at the landscape and

Trends that Never Go Out of Style by Eleri Grace

We are meant to be discussing publishing trends for 2024. But since I know absolutely nothing about AI and have no true insights to share about other possible trends in the publishing industry, I decided to go a different direction with this blog.I'm focusing on the constants in the publishing industry, the things that are likely to remain true for many years or even decades to come. On the
