Entering 2024 with a boat load of Courage

by Diana McCollum “What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything…” Vincent Van Goh For her Christmas present this year I took my youngest daughter to see the Vincent Van Goh Immersive art show in Sacramento, CA.Neither one of us knew a whole lot about Vincent Van Goh, other than we liked his art work and of course, that he had cut off his ear while in a depressive state.&

My Least Favorite Goal by Lynn Lovegreen

I don’t write traditional resolutions anymore, but I do give myself a personal watchword for the year. Last year’s was Time, as in think carefully about how I spend my time. This year, I’m thinking of Grace, as in a disposition to show kindness or compassion. And I make writing/career goals. This year, my least favorite goal is updating my website. I like my website (

2024 Resolutions

Technically, this post should be about New Years Resolutions. You know, the promises we make to ourselves every January. Whether they are broken the first week, or we manage to claw and scrape and hold on to them, at least in spirit, all too often we end up heartbroken and worse off than ever by February. New Years resolutions are overrated, and almost literally made to be broken.

Goal Girls by Eleri Grace

Happy New Year to all!  This week was a rude awakening for many of us who have been in some form of holiday mode for the last weeks (and it was an especially jarring note to realize that my blog is due TODAY). But while we all hate to see the fun and relaxation of the holiday times in the rear view window, there's something fresh and exciting about January for me. We're meant

What's Goals Have to Do With It?

By:  Marcia King-Gamblewww. lovemarcia.comThere are people whose lives revolve around goals. Mine, notso much. I know that the best laid plans of mice or men, or authors and nine tofivers, go awry. Life seldom goes as planned, and one just has to adapt to the unforeseenand have the willingness to pivot. It’s the same with New Year Resolutions, because as wellintended as they might be,

Is a Least Favorite Goal Really a Goal?

By Robin WeaverThis month's theme, "My Least Favorite Goal..." really threw me for a helix. Why have a goal you put at the bottom of your to-do list?  And if it's at the bottom, will you ever do it? So is it really a goal?Instead of dragging you into my confused merry-go-round, I decided to focus on the things at the top of the list. Then it occurred to me, that's the proverbial bucket

Goals for the new year by Paty Jager

Well, I'm off to a good start of 2024! I forgot today was the first Monday of the month. My day to post until I woke up and my calendar said I was up on RTG blog. I have always been a proponent of goals over resolutions. Goals are more concrete and fell like I've accomplished something when I complete it. A resolution is something you say you think you want to do. I have my goals set
