Perfect Limit Blog Tour Day 5 – Six Sentence Sunday

Welcome to Day 5 of my blog tour for Perfect Limit which released this past Friday at Decadent Publishing! Today the stop is here on my blog as I feature six sentences from this second book of the Sypricon Masters series. Enjoy!

Kneeling, even though she was still fully clothed, Rayna felt exposed. As if those around her knew every secret fear she carried inside because they were scribbled on a placard hanging from her neck.

Burke circled around her, his fingers touching the collar of her dirty uniform as he caressed her messy hair. She heard him tsk in disapproval and fought not to flinch in response.

Shit. Less than five minutes since he arrived and I've already pissed him off.

Perfect Limit Blog Tour Kickoff

It's that time! I'm kicking off the blog tour for Perfect Limit over at Liia Ann White's place where I'm talking about two things that seem to be prevalent in my erotica/erotic romance books. Voyeurism and solo pleasures. Really now, with topics like those, how can you not come visit? Well, other than the fact I'll be giving away a copy of Perfect Limit to one lucky commenter.

And the coming soon/buy page is up for Perfect Limit over at Decadent! Wheee!

Answers & Blog Tour

Tomorrow kicks off the blog tour for Perfect Limit (which releases this Friday w/ Decadent Publishing) and to get things started I'll be visiting the fantabulous Liia Ann White and discussing … well, just considering a NSFW topic. ;) I'll post the link up tomorrow to get things started. For now, how about some answers to those questions you guys have been leaving me?

Oh, I want to know how you find the time to write all of these great books, run Six Sentence Sunday and do all of the family and work stuff.

The only way I can explain how I manage to pull it all off is support. Seriously. I have some amazing people helping me behind the scenes who help out with things so I can get the stuff you see done. Luckily, my husband is a fabulous cook, so he takes care of seeing the everyone is fed–including me when I forget to eat when I'm deep into working on a book. I am thankful for each and every person I have in my life who "gets" it.

Also, do you tend to listen the the same music while writing or do you have a different playlist for each book/series?

Music always differs for me. I usually start a new story working on shuffle so any of my songs on my iPod will play. As I'm writing I find certain songs speak to the words flowing from me and that's how I usually identify which songs will go onto a playlist. By the time I've gotten a complete draft, I've got a playlist I can pull up at anytime and it will pull me into the story in a second.

(There were a few questions about one series in particular, so I'll answer them together for ease so I'm not repeating myself.) Actually, are you going to write more books connected to Hardware? Because I gotta say that I would love to read them after finishing Hardware last week. Like the three other people who use Sanctuary; Elena with Nick as you hinted a bit of longing on Elena's side towards the end of the book, Donovan finally finding someone instead of the wrong one. Love it to be male ;) And Ryan, I'd love to know what goes on in his room.

Ok for real now. Which character from Hardware are you writing about next? And how soon will we get to see it?

I also want to know whether characters from Hardware will get their own story. I just finished reading this one about 5 minutes ago – and loved it. I SO want to read more about Nick, Elena, Donovan & Ryan.

Those who want to know about more books related to Hardware, here's the skinny: Yes, there will be more books (er, that is if my publisher/editor like them when I'm finished *g*). I'v started both Ryan and Elena's books and they are both about the same length at the moment as far as how deep into writing them I am. Those two are connected more than I first thought, so it seems only natural that I work on their stories at the same time, even though the two books start off in very different places in time. More than likely, Ryan's book will be completed first with Elena's following and then Donovan's. I only recently discovered myself what was in Ryan's room and it was a "Well, holy shit!" moment for me, certainly hope you guys feel the same!

Well, if you're taking requests…I'd kinda like a Star Runner.

I have started on the third and final Star Runner and I would love to carve out some time to work on it. Soon, I hope!

Who does the cover art for your books? DO you use the same person/place or do you look into other options?

I have been honored to work with some fabulous cover artists since I started publishing, I've worked with around five in total I believe. Christine did the Rebirth series books and the Star Runner books, Amanda did the Hardware cover, Dara the first three Sypricon Masters books, FantasiaFrog Designs did Slow Break and Dar did the Ragged Edge cover. The amount of input I get into the cover depends on the publisher, really. There's only one instance where the mock-up cover didn't completely fit the tone of the book and the artist was more than willing to work with me on making adjustments.

Bookie Awards

I am beyond thrilled to say that Impulse Control has been nominated for a Authors After Dark Bookie Award for BDSM Short Story of the Year!

The Bookies are for the readers and by the readers, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to thank each and every one of my readers. Seriously. Ya'll kick some ass and I love that. So, speak up!

Don't be shy, I love to hear from you.

And, if you have a moment, go vote in the Bookies (not necessarily for me — there are some awesomely fabulous authors included this year and they all deserve a vote):

Six Sentence Sunday – 9/18

The next installment in the Sypricon Masters series releases this coming Friday (9/23), so I thought I would feature six sentences from it. So, six sentences from Perfect Limit:

Burke said nothing as he dipped his head lower to compensate for their vast height difference, pressing his mouth hard against hers. Rayna opened willingly, sighing against him as his tongue slid between parted lips. The kiss quickly found its edge as he reminded her of her place.

Her apprehension melted away the longer the kiss went. Her lips stung from the ferocity as he broke away, stepping back to put some distance between them.

"On your knees, in position."

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you're published

2) pick six sentences

3) post 'em on Sunday

See? Easy. Want to play? See the site for information on how to do just that: http://sixsunday.com

If you have a Twitter account, you can add the hashtag #sixsunday to your tweets when you tweet a link to your Six Sentence Sunday post. If you're a writer (regardless of published/unpublished status) come join us!

Contest – Perfect Limit ARC

The countdown has begun for the release of Perfect Limit (Sept 23), so how about a contest? That's right, win it before you can buy it! It's easy to enter, just leave a comment on this post between now and 8 pm (EST) Sunday, Sept 18 and I'll draw a two winner's names to receive an ARC of Perfect Limit.

Deputy Brigade Manager Rayna Donaghy is convinced she's imperfect. Abandoned and left for dead, Rayna now lives on Sypricon, a frontier planet known for its scarred surface. After a fatal blaze at one of the planet's quarries, Rayna seeks an escape at the landmark BDSM club, Tawse.

Burke, a Dom at the club, is captivated with the woman who has been under his command for the past several months. However, he's finally had enough of her self-loathing and is determined to help Rayna overcome her fears. In the center of the action, Burke lays her bare for all to see in order to show her being perfect is simply a matter of perception.

Warning: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable including but not limited to: D/s, exhibitionism
