Answers & Blog Tour
Tomorrow kicks off the blog tour for Perfect Limit (which releases this Friday w/ Decadent Publishing) and to get things started I'll be visiting the fantabulous Liia Ann White and discussing … well, just considering a NSFW topic. I'll post the link up tomorrow to get things started. For now, how about some answers to those questions you guys have been leaving me?
Oh, I want to know how you find the time to write all of these great books, run Six Sentence Sunday and do all of the family and work stuff.
The only way I can explain how I manage to pull it all off is support. Seriously. I have some amazing people helping me behind the scenes who help out with things so I can get the stuff you see done. Luckily, my husband is a fabulous cook, so he takes care of seeing the everyone is fed–including me when I forget to eat when I'm deep into working on a book. I am thankful for each and every person I have in my life who "gets" it.
Also, do you tend to listen the the same music while writing or do you have a different playlist for each book/series?
Music always differs for me. I usually start a new story working on shuffle so any of my songs on my iPod will play. As I'm writing I find certain songs speak to the words flowing from me and that's how I usually identify which songs will go onto a playlist. By the time I've gotten a complete draft, I've got a playlist I can pull up at anytime and it will pull me into the story in a second.
(There were a few questions about one series in particular, so I'll answer them together for ease so I'm not repeating myself.) Actually, are you going to write more books connected to Hardware? Because I gotta say that I would love to read them after finishing Hardware last week. Like the three other people who use Sanctuary; Elena with Nick as you hinted a bit of longing on Elena's side towards the end of the book, Donovan finally finding someone instead of the wrong one. Love it to be male And Ryan, I'd love to know what goes on in his room.
Ok for real now. Which character from Hardware are you writing about next? And how soon will we get to see it?
I also want to know whether characters from Hardware will get their own story. I just finished reading this one about 5 minutes ago – and loved it. I SO want to read more about Nick, Elena, Donovan & Ryan.
Those who want to know about more books related to Hardware, here's the skinny: Yes, there will be more books (er, that is if my publisher/editor like them when I'm finished *g*). I'v started both Ryan and Elena's books and they are both about the same length at the moment as far as how deep into writing them I am. Those two are connected more than I first thought, so it seems only natural that I work on their stories at the same time, even though the two books start off in very different places in time. More than likely, Ryan's book will be completed first with Elena's following and then Donovan's. I only recently discovered myself what was in Ryan's room and it was a "Well, holy shit!" moment for me, certainly hope you guys feel the same!
Well, if you're taking requests…I'd kinda like a Star Runner.
I have started on the third and final Star Runner and I would love to carve out some time to work on it. Soon, I hope!
Who does the cover art for your books? DO you use the same person/place or do you look into other options?
I have been honored to work with some fabulous cover artists since I started publishing, I've worked with around five in total I believe. Christine did the Rebirth series books and the Star Runner books, Amanda did the Hardware cover, Dara the first three Sypricon Masters books, FantasiaFrog Designs did Slow Break and Dar did the Ragged Edge cover. The amount of input I get into the cover depends on the publisher, really. There's only one instance where the mock-up cover didn't completely fit the tone of the book and the artist was more than willing to work with me on making adjustments.
