Can you relate?
I am a work in progress. Can you relate?
As a child, I somehow got the message that I didn't matter. And it has taken me a very long time to understand the lie that belief was and take to heart what Confucius says: “Respect yourself and others will respect you.”
One of the most important things you can do in life is to respect yourself. By respecting yourself, you are sending a message to others that you are deserving of respect. However, in a world where we are constantly bombarded with images and messages telling us to be perfect, it’s easy to lose sight of our own worth.
Last week I had an experience that triggered me right back to that little girl who didn't believe she mattered. Thankfully, as an adult I know that isn't true and I was able to pull myself out of that muck and get back to being myself.
How about you?

New Testimonial: She Realized Her Uniqueness
I never cease to be amazed by the lightbulbs that go off when I perform a Book Idea Diagnostic. Recently, Shahkina Lakhanii, who has been sitting on a completed manuscript for years, waffling back and forth about whether to publish or not, scheduled one with me. This is what she had to say:
“… before having this diagnostic, I knew that book that I've already written has a lot of benefits, and it is something that I've been passionate about quite a bit. But I always had in my mind this thing about should I, should I not, should I, should I not, and where the book really fits in with my work. Through your diagnostic, what I realized is that actually the book has a huge, big place in helping people. … I loved it when you said, “Yes. It seems like you have something unique.’ That really helped me understand why this book needs to be out there. So, it has actually solidified my desire and my resolve to make sure that this book gets out there, maybe with some tweaks, but it does get out there. Thank you so much.”

Writing a Book Can Be the Easiest or Hardest Thing You'll Ever Do
Entrepreneurs are often told that they need to be good at writing if they want to be successful. They’re told that a book, a speech, social posts – all requiring writing skills – are the way to a thriving business. But what if you're not a natural born writer?
Does that mean you can’t write a book worth reading, give a presentation worth hearing, or share your wisdom on social media?
Of course not. Writing is a learned skill, and, with the right support you can do all those things well enough to grow an amazing business.
It doesn't matter if you didn't do well in English class or if you've never written anything more than a to-do list—with practice, patience, and a willingness to learn from your mistakes, you can develop into a competent (and even prolific) writer. In fact, I have an uncle whose dyslexia was so bad, he couldn’t read. But not only did he earn a bachelor’s degree, he’s now a fiction writer!
So, if you dream of becoming an author but hold back from making that dream come true because you can’t spell worth beans, find it challenging to write a grocery list, or are daunted by the “magnitude” of the task … stop that!
You can do this. Just take one written footstep after the other, and before you know it you’ll have the book in your hands.

What are your favorite misspellings?
Do you have words you constantly find yourself misspelling? And they can be really funny, too! The ones I’ve been catching myself doing are “manger” instead of “manager,” and “femail” instead of “female.” That last one started a few months ago and I have no idea where I got it. And a few years back, I would go to spell my name and spell it “Camra.” So, lights, action … what’s your favorite word foibles?

got deck?
Several years ago, I designed a deck that helps with mindset journaling. I called it Awesome Trigger Cards. I found a vendor that would print one deck so I could hold it and play with it to test them out. And then I got stuck. Making a deck available for sale is a tricky enterprise.
Then, a few months ago, I heard about a new start-up called Deckible – like Audible for decks! Deckible lets you flip through your decks and interact with cards from your phone or tablet. IOS or Android.
I jumped in and joined as a founding Creator. And this week Deckible is live!
What you can do with a virtual deck is so amazing – even better than the app I thought of creating around my Awesome Trigger Cards.
Check them out!

A Hamster in the Wheel of Life
You see a hamster, running like crazy in its wheel, and you think, “Oh! How adorable!”
But when you look at your life and see that you, too, are running like crazy in the giant hamster wheel of life, it’s not so cute.
I’ve had this revelation several times throughout my life, and it really is not fun. But then I find that I can choose to step off, and so I do.
Remember: You are not a hamster. 😊
