I Need to Explain Sexi Lexi's Super Valentine's Day

Okay... where do I start with this one?

If the title "Sexi Lexi's Super Valentine's Day" sounds a little familiar, it should be. Kind of. Because this bisexual romp has been previously published both as Good Bi Valentine and All in a Valentine Day's Work.  The Sexi Lexi part probably sounds familiar because you've probably read this blurb (or something like it) in the past:

How many naughty tenants can one bisexual super tame before Valentine’s Day is done?
Lexi the sexi building superintendent is taking Valentine's Day by storm. Who needs candy hearts and a dozen red roses when she can have casual sex with foxy tenants? If Lexi can help a shy couple celebrate their love, she’s on it. If Mrs. Suraj wants her to fix those rusty pipes, she’s on the job. But when handsome Dwight tugs at her heartstrings, will Sexi Lexi turn cute and coy? How much love can one bisexual super capture before Valentine’s Day is done?
Basically, if you have a copy of Good Bi Valentine you already have a copy of Sexi Lexi's Super Valentine's Day.  Don't go buying it again, unless you're really keen on supporting me financially. And if that's the case, WOW, thank you!

The newly uploaded edition is clearly marked in the blurb as "previously published as..." so I don't think there's a chance of readers snapping up a copy without realizing they already own it, but I want to be extra sure I'm not pissing anyone off.  I can totally understand being pissed off because you just bought a book you already own and the blurb gave you no indication that it was ever published under a different name.

(Has that ever happened to you, by the way?)

I won't go into tooo many details about why I've had to re-release a THIRD edition of the ebook under a different name (mainly because I've spent enough time ragging on ebook retailers and their incomprehensible treatment of indie authors) but suffice to say one e-tailer that shall remain nameless banned the second edition. Wouldn't tell me why, wouldn't tell my publisher why. Guys, honestly, this novelette is an erotic comedy with zero taboo content and nothing that even brushes up against any e-book retailer's no-no list. I have no effing clue why it was banned.

Anyway...

If your Valentine's Day needs a fun and funny erotic read, here you go:

Trials and Triumphs with Eve Langlais

I'm overjoyed to announce that Eve Langlais is our guest blogger!  Many authors have gotten excited about this theme (books we love that don't sell, books we don't love that do...) and I'm so glad Eve Langlais is one of them.

Now, over to this week's guest, Eve Langlais:

I think every author has written a story they absolutely loved. It’s easy to know the one because it practically writes itself. You can’t type fast enough. You become totally engrossed in the characters and plot. When you finally do force yourself away from the keyboard, your legs wobble like a newborn colt and your butt takes an hour to get feeling back—and your poor chair will never be the same. You finish the masterpiece with a happy smile. You edit it and for once, you don’t hate it. Your editors love it. Your beta readers gush it’s the best thing you’ve ever written. You think you’ve finally written ‘THE ONE’, the one that will get readers so pumped they won’t be able to help but shout about it from the rooftops. It’s the story that will make you a New York Times bestseller, get you on USA today, and make you a household name.

Pleased with your best work, you have an awesome cover designed. You have it rigorously edited. You format the hell out of it. It needs to be perfect. You set a release date and pump its coming, even spending on marketing and blog tours because this is ‘The One’.

Nerves are aflutter and you can’t concentrate as release day arrives. Your baby, your best story ever launches, and you get the first day flurry of sales from your wonderful fans. It climbs the ranks. You bite your nails as you watch. “Come on. Higher. Move higher. Hit that Amazon top fifty”. You pray. You guzzle coffee—with a shot of something alcoholic to steady your frayed nerves. You refresh the stats. You get nothing done as you wait for the reviews to come in. And then your heart sinks along with your ranking. After those first few days, it stops selling. You get a few rave reviews, but even more low ones. People just don’t like it. The story you loved and poured all your hope into is a dud.

You are crushed. You doubt yourself. You wonder if you’ve lost your ability to write. You worry you’ll never manage to create something decent again. Depression hits—and chips become in danger of extinction.

And then, you get an email, or a facebook message.

“I love your story. Please tell me you’re going to write a sequel.”

It’s only one person. One person who loved it. Just one. And yet, that one reader gives you back the faith. Reminds you that taste is subjective. They give you the courage to sit your ass back down at your desk and write. The words come, you don’t know if they’re good or bad, but hey, it’s got werewolves. Or cyborgs. Or whatever else you love. Because no matter what, you are a writer, and in the end, it’s not always the number of copies sold that matter, but the need to put the stories in your head into words.

Words the world can read, love ‘em or hate ‘em.

#MySexySaturday My MILF or Yours?

All Romance and Coffee Time RomanceThis week's My Sexy Saturday theme is broken heroes and heroines--people who've given up on love.

Good thing the book I'd planned to spotlight today is "My MILF or Yours? Hot Cougar Erotica from 7 Sexy Authors."  I'm not calling my mother a cougar (she's definitely not) but she's been divorced for more than 20 years and I remember her saying once, "I still dream that one day a knight will ride up on a white horse and carry me away."  Awww.... mom...

Anyway, as I mentioned, this week's My Sexy Saturday book is about seven different women who are older than the boys they love.
Seven of today’s hottest erotica writers have teamed up to bring you a collection of cougar tales sure to get your pulse racing! You’re certain to enjoy these seven sizzling stories every bit as much as our young men love their confident, vivacious cougars!
In Terry Towers' story, Hitching A Ride, Clarissa is newly divorced. I don't think she figures she'll ever trust another man after her husband screwed her over. Then she takes a road trip, and on her way into a diner, she opens the door just as someone else is pushing from inside and...

Amazon and Smashwords cover
Clarissa stumbled backwards and out of the way, just in the nick of time.

"Shit, sorry about that," A deep, masculine voice said.

Clarissa lifted her eyes to look at the person who had nearly sent her falling on her ass. She scanned his strong, muscular thighs snugly covered with ripped, well-worn blue denim. She didn't mean to, but her gaze hesitated at his crotch, the outline of his cock strained against the fabric containing it.
She felt a stirring in her stomach and a heat begin to simmer between her legs, imagining how long and thick it would be erect. And how good it would feel thrusting into her.

A Ka-thud of a Different Kind

Look what Alison Tyler sent me:

Gifts from Alison Tyler + part of a catAt Christmas, I won a little contest at her blog, http://alisontyler.blogspot.ca/, and the prize was gifts! Those gifts. The ones in the picture.  There's another headwarmer, too, but I was wearing it when I took the picture and NOPE I was not willing to take it off.

And the gifts were all wrapped individually in Christmas paper! That's probably one reason my cats couldn't keep their paws off my goodies--they love paper.

That Scotch tape is ready for its close-up:

Coolest. Tape. Ever.

Thanks Alison!

Excerpt from The Pool Boy by Savannah Reardon

Marin sauntered out onto the deck, the beads of sweat glistening on her creamy skin in the scorching morning sun. Her mood was as sour as the orange juice she was drinking. It was blistering hot outside and even hotter in the house. The central unit had stopped working the night before and no matter what she tried, she couldn’t get a repair man to agree to come before tomorrow morning. She had called her oldest son to come take a look at it, but he was clueless as to what the problem could be.

Her dark nipples showed through the flimsy white cotton tank. The running shorts she dug out of her dresser drawer barely covered the round moons of her ass. That was fine with her. The less clothing she had on, the cooler she was. She placed her arms on the rough wood and leaned over the deck rail. The rippling water in the pool sparkled in the sunlight. Marin’s plan for the morning was to get in the pool, but she had forgotten it was the day for the pool boy to do maintenance.

Marin gazed followed the pool boy’s movements as he walked around the pool, skimming the water for trash and bugs with the net. His well-defined muscles rippled as he gripped the metal pole. His dark bronzed skin was coated with the sheen of sweat. Marin felt a heated tingling between her legs as she watched him clean the pool. He exuded raw sexuality, the kind that attracted women of all ages.

Normally, Marin wouldn’t even give thought to the idea a young man would be interested in her. After all, her children were older than the pool boy was. However, she had noticed how he looked at her when he thought she wasn’t watching...

Kinksters Cover Reveal!

Ta-da!
Huh?

Let me guess: you're saying to yourself, "That cover looks awfully familiar. Have I seen it somewhere before?"

Well... yes, you have.  This brilliant design by award-winning artist Dawné Dominique was Kinsters' cover when it was first published by loveyoudivine Alterotica. That first edition took off like a shot. You loved it!  And then, only a few months after its release, lyd Alterotica went out of business.  So sad.  Kinksters came off the market and I've been sitting on it since.

Or maybe "sitting on it" isn't quite what I mean.  Actually, over the past month I've released most of its kinky group sex stories as individual ebooks.  But Kinksters was so popular in its first incarnation that I wanted to get the anthology back out there.

February 14th 2014 isn't just a day for gushy romance.  It's also the release date for Kinksters: 12 stories of wild group sex, bisexual fun and kinky pleasures.

The first edition consisted of 10 stories, so you're getting more bang for your buck with the second.  The lineup is infused with even more kinkalicious activity of a bisexual nature, including PLENTY of lesbian threesomes and moresomes.  (What can I say?  I'm queer.  I like lesbian kink.)

I want to thank Dawné Dominique for creating such a yummy cover, Sommer Marsden for telling me she liked it back when the first edition came out, and YOU readers for wanting Kinksters back on the market.  If you didn't snap up a copy last year, you'll have your opportunity on V-Day!Giselle Renarde

Trials and Triumphs with Guest Author Lucy Felthouse!

A Book That is Very Me... And One That’s Not by Lucy Felthouse

First, thanks to Giselle for having me here – what a fantastic topic for a series of guest posts!

So... which of my books has rather a lot of me in and has sold very little? That would be Reindeer Games: Cupid. It’s a paranormal erotic romance published by Secret Cravings Publishing. I know it’s a seasonal title, but I hoped it would do well around the holiday season because it’s Christmassy, it’s got Santa in it, and shifter books have been selling incredibly well for some time now. But it’s hardly done anything, sadly.

It’s a good story, I really enjoyed writing it. Clearly, I’m not a man or a reindeer shifter, but the story is set at a house that looks extraordinarily like mine, with a street that looks like mine, and a main character that bears more than a passing resemblance to my postman. It’s also got bits and pieces in it that are very “me” like mentions of Cadbury’s chocolate...

So... yeah, there you have it. This lovely book that I’m very proud of has barely cracked double digits sales-wise. Boo.

As for a title that’s not so me and is more fiction, well that would be Mean Girls. It’s part of Ellora’s Cave’s Curve Appeal range of books, and other than the fact the main character is female and not skinny, there’s nothing of me in this at all. The main character, Adele, is a Rubenesque chick that is super fit and healthy as she goes swimming regularly (I’m not, and I don’t). She also parts owns a pub/restaurant and is Head Chef (I don’t own anything and I hate cooking). She has a crush on the lifeguard at her local leisure centre (well, show me a hunky lifeguard and I’ll have a crush...) and it turns out, he likes her, too.

I loved writing this book because I like writing about very real situations, real-feeling people, and so on. Poor Adele is bullied because of her weight, and hunky lifeguard Oliver can’t stand by and let that happen.

So, this utterly fictional book with nothing of me in it has sold really well (hurrah!), which has naturally made me very, very happy. It seems it struck a chord with people, women I suspect who could identify with Adele.

This topic is exactly why I just write what I want, rather than trying to figure out what readers want, what will sell well, and so on. Sadly, in the writing business there are just no guarantees—so I’m sticking to writing books I want to write, that I’ll enjoy writing. And hopefully, just hopefully, somebody will buy them!

Happy Reading,
Lucy x

Blurb for Reindeer Games: Cupid:

As a postman by day, and one of Santa’s reindeer on a single very special night, Cassius Cupid eats, sleeps, and breathes deliveries. He doesn’t mind, but sometimes wishes that someone would send him something more exciting than bills and junk mail.

One cold January morning, Cassius gets his wish. A young woman arrives with a parcel. Turns out it’s for his housemate – but Cassius doesn’t care. All he’s interested in is Carina – the beautiful female courier.
Has Cupid finally met his match?

More info, excerpt and buy links: http://lucyfelthouse.co.uk/published-works/cupid/

Blurb for Mean Girls:

Adele Blackthorne is a big girl, a curvy chick. She knows it, and she’s been picked on all her life because of it. But she’s gotten to the stage where she doesn’t care. She may be Rubenesque, but she’s healthy, too. Much healthier than the mean girls at the leisure center that point and stare and say spiteful things about her. Adele rises above it all, and simply enjoys her secretive glances at the center’s hunky lifeguard, Oliver.

As the bullying of Adele becomes worse, Oliver finds it increasingly difficult not to intervene. He doesn’t want to get into trouble with work, but equally he can’t stand to see Adele treated in such a horrible way. Especially since he doesn’t agree that she’s fat and unattractive. He thinks she’s a seriously sexy woman, and would like to get to know her better. Much better.

Call For Submissions~Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Power of Forgiveness

Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Power of Forgiveness 101 Stories about How to Let Go and Change Your Life
For the "New Year New You" 2015 season we plan to publish a book about the power of forgiveness. Have you ever noticed how forgiving someone frees you to move on with your life? You don't have to forget or condone something that happened, but for your own wellbeing you have to move past your anger. It can be a major decision, something really big like forgiving someone who caused a major negative event in your life, especially if you feel you were seriously wronged. Or it can be something minor like forgiving a rude driver who cut you off.

We are looking for stories that will show our readers how forgiving someone or being forgiven by someone changed your life in a positive way. Were you able to reestablish a relationship after forgiving or being forgiven? Did letting go of your hurt feelings heal you and bring you a sense of peace? Help others find the same resolution by sharing your story.

Here are some suggested topics but we know you can think of many more:

• Making the decision to forgive
• Setting yourself free by forgiving
• Apologizing if you were the one who caused the hurt
• Letting go of anger and resentment
• Adjusting your attitude
• Healing and compassion
• That first step — reestablishing contact
• Working it out
• Helping someone else forgive — how you did it

Please remember, we no longer publish "as told to" stories. Please write in the first person about yourself or someone close to you. If you ghostwrite a story for someone else we will list that person's name as the author. If a story was previously published, we will probably not use it unless it ran in a small circulation venue. Let us know where the story was previously published in the "Comments" section of the submission form. If the story was published in a past Chicken Soup for the Soul book, please do not submit it.

If your story is chosen, you will be a published author and your short bio will be printed in the book if you so choose. You will also receive a check for $200 and 10 free copies of your book, which retails for $14.95 per copy. You will retain the copyright for your story and you will retain the right to resell it.

SUBMISSIONS GO TO OUR WEBSITE. Select the Submit Your Story link on the left tool bar and follow the directions.

On-sale date December 16, 2014. The deadline for story and poem submissions is June 30, 2014.

#MySexySaturday Frankie Steps Up

Lexi Wood has taken over My Sexy Saturday (and a goodly part of my life--oy!). Everybody's favourite sock puppet would like to tempt you with 7 paragraphs from her newest taboo erotic ebook, Frankie Steps Up.

Frankie’s kind of a nerd. Okay, full disclosure: he’s a HUGE nerd. Everyone in his graduating class teases him relentlessly. That’s why he’s shocked when Leslie, leader of the mean girls, steals his phone to put her number in it.  Little does he know the girls have orchestrated a cruel trick: they’ve sent a nasty sext to Frankie’s stepmother, pretending to be him. How will Frankie react when he gets home to find his sexy stepmom is up for anything?
Thanks to Lexi, here are 7 paragraphs from Frankie Steps Up:

His stepmother shot him a pouty smile.  “Oh, my little love, I don’t want you going off to college without knowing how to treat a girl.  Women can smell inexperience on a man, and it doesn’t matter how much cologne you pile on top of it—that scared scent never goes away.”“What are you saying?” Frankie’s cock throbbed so hard it was starting to give him a headache. “Like, if I get laid now I won’t stink anymore?”His stepmother circled her hands around her breasts, teasing her nipples while she talked to him.  “When a young man is confident in his sexual prowess, I’m telling you, Frankie, the girls can’t keep their hands off him.”Frankie crawled a little closer.“So let me show you how it’s done, young man. And then you’ll know what you’re doing, and you can go out and show the girls a good time.”He couldn’t refuse.  He couldn’t resist her.  It wasn’t his idea to fuck her tits in the first place, but now that the idea had been planted in his head, he couldn’t shake off his deep desire. His cock led the way. When he straddled his stepmother, it pointed up on the diagonal, toward the headboard.  He grabbed it with both hands.  He wouldn’t need to guide his erection—it knew what it was doing.
