Do As the Canadians Do
Last week, while expressing a hankering for Thanksgiving-type foods on my Facebook page, a Canadian fan pointed out that their Thanksgiving was right around the corner.
Curious, I did a quick search and discovered that Canada's Thanksgiving is today. So, since this year's actual Thanksgiving holiday is going to have my family going off in several different directions, I figured we'd have ours along with the Canadians.
On the menu tonight? Homemade mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, homemade...

Ad (Wo)Man
Have you ever seen an ad campaign for a product and thought, "hmmm. I could do better than that…"
Well, now's your chance.
Think of a product (destination, food, service, etc) and tell us how you'd spruce up the campaign.

Looking Forward
I'm looking forward to a lot of things right now…
*Finishing my current work-in-progress or wip (book 7–Sweet Briar Christmas themed story)
*Seeing the cover of book 6 (REAP WHAT YOU SEW–due out April 1st)
*Seeing the cover for the very first book in my Amish series–HEARSE AND BUGGY (I'm being told it's very different but in a "good way").
*The release of DANGEROUS ALTERATIONS (my favorite sewing circle book so far) on November 1st and the coinciding events I have scheduled.
*Going on a long...

The Healing Hands of Friendship
Because my reading time is taking a back seat to writing this month, I'm turning over "Reading Tuesdays" to some of my blog readers. The format is the same–jacket blurb, cover, the views of the reader, and a question that you all can answer regardless of whether you read this particular book or not.
So please, read on and give some thought to this week's question. Maybe you'll find a book you want to add to your TBR pile. Maybe the question posed will simply make you think.
Either way, let's...

Scarecrow Making 101
Over the weekend, my daughters and I took a scarecrow-making workshop. We brought the shirt and pants, the farm supplied the post, the hay, and the rest of the supplies. When we were done, we brought home the 2011 addition to our Halloween decoration collection.
But before I show you the finished product, I'll show you a few shots along the way…
Here's Dear Daughter # 1 and Dear Daughter # 2 with our work in progress. At this point, we'd stuffed his head and were working on stuffing his...

Elbow Grease
In honor of the scarecrow-making workshop my girls and I will be taking tomorrow morning, I figured I'd go in a creative direction with this week's Bits & Pieces.
1) What's the last thing you made with your own two hands?
2) What's something you've always wanted to learn to make?
3) What's your favorite tool?
4) Any big projects on the horizon?

Ask Away
For today's "Writing Thursday," I'm opening the floor to YOU.
Shoot me a question about writing in general, any of my books (either written or on the horizon), or whatever you feel like asking. If you tend to lurk and not comment, I encourage you to ask, too. It helps me to know you're out there and blog readers do NOT see your email address so no worries about that.
I'll be checking throughout the day and will answer any questions in the comment section.
Anyone?

May I Pick Your Brain?
I was wondering if I could pick your brains today.
I'm in the process of giving this website a once over. I'm keeping the look/the feel, but it's time for some content tweaks. The first change is on the "home" page (which I have my weblady do). If you click on the tab at the top, you'll see that we've added the cover of the upcoming book and placed ordering information beneath each available title (if you haven't pre-ordered Dangerous Alterations yet, now might be a good time to take care of t...
