And She Says, Phew…
Well, it’s off.
Southern Sewing Circle # 8 (tentatively titled–and therefore, subject to change–REMNANTS OF MURDER) is now out of my hands and officially in those of my editor. Now the next hard part comes…waiting to hear whether she likes it or not. Ugh.
In the meantime, thisnext week will be spent catching up on all those little things I’ve pushed to the sideso I couldfinish the book. Things like; cooking, folding laundry, errands, blogging, reading, etc.
Because I have only about a six week wi...

Night, Night
As many of you are waking this morning, I’m heading off to bed to get a few hours of sleep. I’ve been up for the past 18 hours, writing and I’m beginning to see double.
The good news is this: “The End,” has officially been typed.
Which means, the editing phase begins…
If all goes well, I’ll be back with a regular post tomorrow. If not, Wednesday for sure.
Have a great Monday!

Bits & Pieces–The “Gems” Edition
Oooh, I’ve got some fun Bits & Pieces for you today. *grin*
1) What was the last film that really moved/disturbed/thrilled you, and why?
2)What is your favorite TV show of all time (meaning, you’veseen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it)? And, for bonus points, give us one of your favorite lines from it:
3)What’s your favorite way to wake up and what’s the first thing you do?
4)Looking back (or, even if you were aware of it at the time) what would you say wasthe wo...
The First Time
I’ve been spending much of my days hunched over the keyboard as I finish up Sewing Circle # 8. It’s going well and I’m having fun, but it’s also making it tough to do other things. Like blog.
So I’m going to keep it short and sweet today and ask something I’ve been rather curious to know these last few years.
How dideach of you (or those who choose to answer) first discover me and/or my books–what series/where you found them/or whatever else?

Must. Resist.
I’m spending a lot of time in the bookstore cafe this week, losing myself in the pages of my next book (due next week). While I’m writing, I’m aware of very little around me, the comings and goings of customers around me fading into what can best be described as background noise. It works for me at this point in a book.
That said, when it’s time to pack up my computer at the end of the day, I must walk through the store (read: books) in order to reach the door…and my car. This wouldn’t be such...

P.S. You can find me in two other places today. At Fresh Fiction (talking about why I love writing the Amish series) and at The Stiletto Gang (talki...
To the Mailbox We Go…
I decided to go to the mailbag (or, in this case, a FB question), for today’s writing post. Today’s question comes from Allison C. from Texas.
Q: Are you a plotter or a pantser? Since you write multiple series, what’s your process for keeping track of characters, worlds, etc?
A: Well first, Allison, let me tell my readers that the expression “pantser” comes from the expression, “by the seat of your pants.” Plotter means to have every single element of the story plotted out.
That said, the edges...

Goin’ To the Zoo
This week, while staying in the city, I’ve been making a point of getting my daily writing out of the way before noon so Dear Daughter # 2 and I can wander around the city. Yesterday, we walked a good 50 + blocks by the time we were done and the exercise felt great!
During the course of our day, we took in some of the sights at the Central Park Zoo. And while I didn’t think to pull out my camera (ugh!), DD#2 was on the job with her I-pod…
First up was the polar bear. I’ve been to a lot of zoos...

My Latest Must Read
I love all sorts of things about vacation–the change of scenery, the change in routine, new experiences, and making new memories among my favorite aspects. But reading belongs on that list, too.
I wish I could say I read every day during the rest of the year, but I can’t. Life is so busy with the kids and writing that I just can’t seem to find much time for reading anymore. That’s not to say, I only read during vacation, because that’s not quite true, either. If I’m between deadlines, I binge...
