A Single Bit
Today’s Bits & Pieces is more of a “bit.” As in singular.
1) Where do you do your best thinking?

Edible Animals
On a totally unrelated-to-books-or-writing note, check out these cupcakes my youngest made yesterday afternoon. She came up with the design for the elephant, the bear, the pig, and the penguin on her own.
And, just because she was extra proud of the penguin, here it is up close…
Adorable, aren’t they?
I’m looking forward to sampling each and every animal in the days ahead!

Sealed With A Kiss…And A Push
Well, launch day #17 has officially come and gone and I have to say, it was a mighty special one.
I woke to a letter from my youngest with the titles of all my books on one side, and a very special note on the back. I’ve read it a half dozen times already and am now debating whether to attach it to the bulletin board in my office or tuck it safely inside my hope chest.
On the heels of dinner, my daughters surprised me with a peanut butter and chocolate cake from Friendly’s…which they decorated...

On The Shelves
REMNANTS OF MURDER–the 8th book in my Southern Sewing Circle Mysteries (and 17th traditionally published book overall)–is out today!!!!! If you’re a fan of the series, I hope you’ll pick it up this week.
Here’s a tease from the back jacket copy:
With the library’s budget dwindling, Tori Sinclair is forced to let go of her
predecessor, and fellow sewing circle member, Dixie Dunn. After losing her job a
second time, Dixie decides to volunteer for Home Fare, delivering meals...

Pieces of This, Pieces of That
Bits & Pieces time!
1) Last movie you saw and with whom?
2) If you could transport yourself somewhere for just 10 minutes at this exact moment, where would you go?
3) Best thing you’ve ever done?
4) Pretzels or chips?
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Before “The End”
Okay, let’s see what you’ve got (which means you actually have to play along–okay?).
I’ve had you write an opening before, now it’s time for a one sentence ending.
It can be funny.
Scary.
Or utterly profound.
It just can’t be “THE END.”
Ready? Go!

31 Days Down
I’m feeling rather accomplished today on account of meeting a goal I set for myself back on July 1st. I told myself I would work out every day this month–all 31 of them, no excuses.
Of course, when I made that goal, I neglected to take into account the traveling I’d be doing to visit friends, the doctor visit/tests I’d be doing, and the family vacation that was planned for a full week in the latter part of the month. But I’d made the goal and I was determined to stick with it.
And I did. I walke...

On My E-Reader
I’ve said it here before, and I’ll say it here again…I love Linda Castillo’s Amish thrillers. They are fast paced, extremely well-written, and leave you wanting more.
That’s why, since being turned onto this series by a dear friend, June has become a month I look forward to since about June. Why? Well, June is Linda’s release month. I often devour her books in less than 24 hours and then have to wait a year until the next installment. Not fun, I tell you.
This year, because of a crazy busy June...

It All Started With Six Chapters…
Vacation is certainly one of those things that goes much too fast, isn’t it?
That said, it was fun while it lasted and now it’s time to get back to reality (which includes a whole lot of writing, more summer busy-ness, and next week’s launch of REMNANTS OF MURDER ).
It’s hard to believe the 8th book in the series is getting ready to release when I can still remember the moment I was offered the original contract for the Southern Sewing Circle Mysteries. Back then, I was living in Missouri with...
