The Five!
1. I can't believe the Royal Wedding is tomorrow. Wasn't it just yesterday that I was gathered around the black and white set in Cape Cod with my mom at some ungodly hour, watching Diana kiss Charles on a balcony? It was at LEAST yesterday that I got up super early to cry myself blind on the couch watching Diana's funeral. How is William somehow old enough to be MARRIED? Someone stop this crazy thing! Okay, okay, I'll stop freaking out now. To be honest, I don't have Royal Wedding fever this ...

Okay, so I have JUST gotten the go-ahead to show you guys the TV spot my publisher is going to be running for WHAT HAPPENED TO GOODBYE. You are the first ones to see it! (Okay, so that's not EXACTLY true. There's the folks at Penguin, and me, and my husband, and everyone unlucky enough to cross my path since I got the super-secret link a couple of days back.) Not fair…
Okay, so I'm hearing that several folks have already gotten their pre-ordered copies of WHAT HAPPENED TO GOODBYE. Which is not supposed to be happening. The pub date is May 10th and there's what is called a lay-down, which means no one is supposed to sell it before then. So what's the deal? I'm not sure. Just a mistake somewhere, but it still kind of stinks for everyone who has to wait for their copies. I WISH I could do something about this, I've contacted my publisher and they are on it...

two weeks to go…
until WHAT HAPPENED TO GOODBYE is released! I realized this at about 1:30 this morning, when it hit me—with that sudden, Oh-my-God urgency you only feel at that hour, roused from sleep—how much I have left to do before I leave for book tour. YIKES! Today, though, I am choosing not to think about that. Why? Because I am in too much of a giving mood.
My publisher, Penguin, just sent me a couple of boxes of these awesome water bottles last week. So cute, right? But I can't use them...

first of the year…
Yes, it's that time of year again. Oh, right: Easter too. But for me, summer is OFFICIALLY here when I make the first deviled eggs of the year. This was much easier today, considering we've been dyeing eggs all week. I was drowning in hard boileds. It was like the universe commanded that I cut them up, mash the yolks with mayo, mustard, sweet relish, salt and pepper, and sprinkle them with paprika. And who am I to question the universe?
Of course, the universe is also responsible for the fact ...
