Tight Ends #13 at Amazon

Oscar Spendrup

Oscar Spendrup

Tight Ends: An Erotic Gay Football Anthology is currently #13 on Amazon's Books > Literature & Fiction > Erotica > Gay & Lesbian > Anthologies!

Okay, yeah, I know. That's like…a lot of categories down, but hey! It's got a ranking somewhere!

I actually sent my mother a copy of it in print. She was an English teacher and I made her promise not to send back any of my books to me all in red ink. She said she liked it, but that's a little like saying that your mom says you're fun at...

Learning to Love the Bomb

No, no actual Dr. Strangelove going on here. Just fighting with myself, trying to learn to love editing as much as I love that first burst of creative energy that comes when you're discovering a new story. Actually, I have learned to love fleshing things out, going back over the story and adding themes and details that either I didn't know the first go round or have changed or just seem interesting.

What I don't love is reading back through, checking the spelling and grammar issues and...

"Stay" Available on Smashwords

Stay

a gay scifi erotic short story

by Clancy Nacht

Deep in space, Geneticode's scientists hack genetic code, experimenting far from the prying eyes of ordinary people. Michael Fine, the colorless result of early hacks, is sent to these ships to discover who amongst clones, experiments, or scientists have gone mad and to salvage the data. It's a decent job until he's assigned to find the madman who is bleaching corpses to resemble him.

Friday Fantasy (NSFW)

I keep missing the Humpday Hunks by either finding pictures preemptively that I feel I have to post Right Now or remembering photos I loved too late.

This particular photo is all sorts of love to me, not only because it's beautifully shot, but it was actually taken by Monday Manmeat Jonas Kesseler from L'etat c'est moi. There's just something sexy about actors turned directors and models turned photographers.

And who is that in there? Why it's Paul Boche, who I have declared love for before...

Of Marketing and McDonalds

I keep going in circles, coming back to the same conclusion: I need to do more marketing. I need to get out there. I need to shake babies and kiss hands. I need to campaign for hope, change, and people buying my books.

But then, there's just something skeezy-feeling about running around promoting yourself. It feels needy and like perhaps you didn't get enough hugs as a child.

There's this notion that if the story is good enough, the people will come. This is not necessarily true. People read...

I Give a Damn

I give a damn. I can't do everything I want to about it. I don't wield any special power on my own to change things, but what I can do is lend my voice to others and hope that people comprehend that their ideology affects the lives of people they know Every. Single. Day.

Love people enough to let them be who they are. You'll be surprised how rewarding it is.

The site is having a little work done

So I'm trying out a new look for the site. This is the third time I've redone things but they're all free templates, which is what I'm dealing with until I get bored and do something extravagant.

This is a photo I shot at Fulsom Fair, which makes the t-shirt the bleached blond is wearing about thanking you're lucky stars that you're in Texas even funnier to me. That I would later write so much about a pale blond boy wasn't even in a glimmer in my eye at the time.

The fair, as I recall, was...

Monday Manmeat

I know it's traditionally humpday hunk, but this really couldn't wait. Jonas Kesseler is not only a top male model, ruling the catwalks this season, but is a hipster artist himself. As much as I hate to objectify people (or not) this photo and Kesseler himself is not just hot, but hawt.

$1.99 Sale

If you haven't picked up the highly-rated, well-reviewed Bedknobs and Broomsticks anthology yet, here's a great opportunity to pick up some good reading on the cheap. Right now, Bedknobs and Broomsticks is on sale for only $1.99, marked down from $6.99. Now, I'm not good at math, but that looks like a lot of money. (This is the sort of copy you get from me when my insomnia has driven me to watching infomercials all night) Aaaand, if that's not enough, I don't really know what to do for you...

On Ambien and Writing

Every so often, long after Ambien has told my body to shut down, my subconscious is compelled to express itself. In other words, while my conscious self is saying, hey, go to bed! my body is compulsively at the computer typing.

I realize that back in the day (way, way back) opium was a valid additive to the creative process. But, Coleridge I am not, and therefore, I have yet to write my Ambien-high Kubla Khan. What I have written has included stories with all the coherence of a dream wherein p...
