Swag, Writing, and Patreon by Mandy Rosko

I ended up getting more sticker sheets ready and testing them out on my Cricut, then freaked out a little as I nearly broke my Cricut by installing the sticky sheet wrong, but I got them done, and I’m fairly happy with them

Snow Fell On Me Paranormal-Scope

Just when I hoped it wouldn’t, the snow fell. I keep wishing for Spring. Apparently wishing on a pixie doesn’t work.

While I am not qualified in any way to read neither stars nor planets, I am intimately linked to the paranormal in the world in many ways. So are you.

The paranormal-scope is for entertainment purposes only and is not meant to guide your life by.

The week for:

Aries:

Swamp Thing! You make my heart sing. Have you been singing lately? If not, add more music to your life. Spend time listening.

Taurus:

Salamanders are spirits that dance in fire. New business opportunities are coming your way, but be cautious and investigate thoroughly.

Gemini:

Sprites run very fast. Re-evaluate your exercise program. Check with your physician.

Cancer:

Goblins are counting money. It’s budget time. Prepare for new expenses, so you don’t have headaches about your finances.

Leo:

Gremlins enjoy machinery. Check out your appliances and make sure everything is working. You may need a new appliance.

Virgo:

Zombies know nothing about fashion. Go shopping with a stylish friend and pick up some fashion tips.

Libra:

Mermaids laugh when they see snow melt. They just go with the flow. Do the same and enjoy your week.

Scorpio:

Pixies are mischievous. Engage in warmhearted humor with others. Be sure to avoid any gossip.

Sagittarius:

Werewolves howl with laughter. Laughter makes us feel better. Go out with fun friends or plan a night of comedy films at your place.

Capricorn:

Shapeshifters admire your flexibility. Think outside the box in your career. Be sure to add more fun in your life.

Aquarius:

Vampires love the unexpected. A little snow is nothing for them. You have unexpected company coming.

Pisces:

Elves love details. Focus on your details to improve your career and life in general.

Spring? Ha! No. By Ripley Proserpina

It’s getting close to spring for some people. In Vermont, this week started with beautiful weather. It was fifty degrees one day. Fifty! No coats, no hats, no mittens… no problems…

By Wednesday, the weather had changed. Like, “Haha, fools! It’s February!” But for those two  perfect, sunny days, I thought of spring.

So while I may still be suffering through a nine-month deep freeze, others may be seeing blossoms and green grass, hearing birds or feeling a warm breeze—ugh—I’m so jealous right now.

Spring is the time where I put away some of my darker go-to reads, like Ethan Frome and The Winter People. Of course, now that I’ve mentioned these books, I want to re-read them—especially Ethan Frome. That might be my favorite book of all time. Hot chocolate and Ethan Frome sounds like the perfect combination for today, which just happens to be grey and cold.

You know what? I may not be as ready for spring as I thought.

They’re here!!! My pretties have arrived!!!! Here they are, sitting in their UPS box, fresh from my publisher, Soul Mate Publishing, Inc. It’s so fun to see the first two books of the BUILDING LOVE series—BETTING ON LOVE IN VEGAS and HOTTER THAN THE CARIBBEAN—in print. Especially with book # 3, MAD FOR YOU IN MADRID, coming out this October.

I’m on a bit of a BUILDING LOVE high. This is the second series I’ve ever written. It won’t be my last. Since the BUILDING LOVE series has steamy sex, soap opera drama, and world-class travel destinations, this may just be the most fun!

The Right Food

Have you ever noticed that you can sit at your desk the entire day, only to feel completely exhausted by the time five o’clock rolls around? This week has been a bit like that. I’m in the midst of tax season and I’m absolutely slammed. When I had more time to write, I remember days like this when it was almost non-stop writing. In a way, it feels like we run these mental or emotional or spiritual marathons and they are just as exhausting as if we had attempted the physical feat.

So where am I going with this? Today, I’m sending out a reminder to all of you hard workers reading this blog to take some time to “feed” yourself. You determine what it is you need but the one thing I would say is to sit down and think about it first. We often seem to diagnose ourselves as needing physical food (comfort food) when it actuality we need a spa day. Or perhaps we decide we need to work out a ton, when in reality, we just need to relax on a beach. The bottom line is that we are complex creatures and we require a lot of attention and the right attention to truly take care of ourselves. Some of us are better than others but like I mentioned earlier, we also don’t always get it right. And that’s okay as long as we don’t perpetually keep “misdiagnosing” our needs.

So the moral of this blog is that if you are having a week like I have, take some time to figure out what will make you better. It is time worth investing as you’ll see it pays off in many ways.

Happy writing this week!

Gray Rainy Day Paranormal-Scope

“Into each life, some rain must fall” is a line from a poem called “The Rainy Day” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The important thing to remember is that the sun will always shine. If it didn’t rain, we’d miss the flowers.

While I am not qualified in any way to read neither stars nor planets, I am intimately linked to the paranormal in the world in many ways. So are you.

The paranormal-scope is for entertainment purposes only and is not meant to guide your life by.

The week for:

Aries:

Pixies shine all around you. New career opportunities are opening up. Ignore gossip.

Taurus:

Elves keep their dear ones close. Someone new will come into your circle.

Gemini:

Werewolves organize their play and work. Balance in your life is very important right now.

Cancer:

Shapeshifters are very flexible. You will be going through changes. Go with the flow of things and keep an open mind.

Leo:

Mermaids love to swim with friends. It’s time to team up and work collaboratively. Spend more leisure time with friends or family.

Virgo:

Zombies can’t fathom surprise. You have a few surprises coming your way. Keep a level head and choose options after research.

Libra:

Faeries resolve problems but making a pro and con list and from there a solution. Don’t get overwhelmed. Do one step at a time.

Scorpio:

Elves are careful over gold. Take care with your own funds. You have some upcoming expenses.

Sagittarius:

Gremlins enjoy getting together with family or friends. Plan a gathering or go and visit those closest to you.

Capricorn:

Vampires have great intuition but they temper decision-making with investigation and by sleeping on it. Some great nights are coming your way.

Aquarius:

Dragons love choices, and you have a lot of choices this week. Consider your finances and choose carefully.

Pisces:

Goblins are independently-minded. There are moments when solitude is more appealing than the crowd. Plan some things you’ve always wanted to do.

Commencing Countdown, Engines On… by Ripley Proserpina

In t-minus two days, Shadow of Thorns, the second book in my vampire series, Midnight’s Crown, releases.

I’m a ball of anxiety. I want to know what people think—will they like it? Will they hate the ending? Will they love the ending?

Writing it was a blast. These characters (and there are a lot because it’s a reverse harem romance) are my friends and I want to spend time with them, but the question remains, do others? There’s only one book left, and then I’ll be saying goodbye to my friends.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Right now, I need to cross my fingers, and my toes, and hope for the best!

Shadow of Thorns is available on KU http://amzn.to/2C8YY0c

Deep in a Book? What’s the Insiders’ Circle?

By Amorphisman (Own work) [CC BY-SA 3.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0)%5D, via Wikimedia Commons – Vista of Moldoveanu

Where have I been? What book am I deep in? That is Moldoveanu Peak, the highest mountain in Romania. It’s grand to look at, but then so is the whole country. My research led me through history and places and people. Am I writing a Dracula book? No! My character was born human, son of a king, over a thousand years ago, long before Vlad the Impaler (who is a Romanian national hero and was not a vampire but was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for Dracula) lived in Romania.

I’m almost done with my novel. I was closer to done a few days ago but an important chapter that I had skipped came to my attention.  Now I have to put that in place and make a few adjustments. After that my editing commences and beta readers will see it.

This book is something rare–it spans time. Is it a vampire novel? It is. It’s also historical. There are parts in the book that really happened.

My lovers are torn apart by war. There’s tragedy, great sadness, and horror. There’s also friendship, secrets, inspired love, passion, bravery, and majesty.

While this novel has taken longer to write, it’s been a moving, heart-breaking, and an amazing experience, I would not have changed for the world.

My hope is that it comes out this year or at the very least the beginning of next year. For those that want to prepare to read it, you’ll want to read Vampire King of New York and Vampire Princess of New York. For links, see below. Can the book stand alone? It can, but I’d like everyone to be in the “insider’s circle” and read it more deeply.
