SISTERS RED reviews
So I kind of knew before SISTERS RED even hit arc form that is was more susceptible to bad reviews than, say, AS YOU WISH was. AS YOU WISH is kind of hard to hate. It's a light, sweet, cute story...the only things by way of controversy are the 1) WORD THAT MUST NOT BE NAMED on page 174 and 2) Lawrence, the gay best friend, if you're the kind of person who thinks that gay best friends are controversial.
SISTERS RED, however, is a different type of story. While I'm not by any means saying it's s...

Multiple Scarletts
This is SISTERS RED, by yours truly:

This is SCARLETT FEVER, by Maureen Johnson:

They both involve characters named Scarlett. And to be honest, that's probably all they have in common. BUT that isn't stopping me from throwing an ARC of SCARLETT FEVER into the January SISTERS RED prize package!
Every month I'm doing a SISTERS RED giveaway with an ever-growing collection of swag and occasionally a bonus book or two. Each month's contest entry is different-- to be entered to win SISTERS RED and SCA...

It's way too early in the morning
So, in case you haven't noticed, I kind of wrote an entire book about wishes. About how what you think you want isn't what you need, about how what you need isn't necessarily what you want, and all the good stuff in between. I think those concepts and thus, the concepts of wishing for something in general, were aspects of AS YOU WISH that I knew I wanted to incorporate even before the character of Jinn came into being. So given all that, : what if AS YOU WISH had not been about a genie? Wha...

2 location-related things
1) Just a reminder that I'll be speaking at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA today from 3-5pm in Park Hall. I'll be talking about writing, publishing, and everything in between, and reading from SISTERS RED. Seating is limited, but please come!
and 2) (more importantly):
The 2009 Debs have banded together with The Leaky Cauldron Fansite to Help Haiti Heal. This weekend, donations will be taken for the cause, with prizes given away to random, lucky donors.

Fruit Rollups
I have a weakness. And that weakness is Fruit Rollups.
Actually, Fruit Rollups and Pudding Pops. But Fruit Rollups are readily attainable, whereas Pudding Pops are only available at Ingalls, a grocery store chain that is few and far between in my area. So Fruit Rollups are my vice, to the degree that I try my hardest not to buy them often, because I can clear out a box in a single day. In a single hour, even, if I'm not thinking about it.
So whatever will I do about the packages I got in the ma...

Writing and Blog TV
I've been working on an entirely new outline for THIS DAMN HISTORICAL NOVEL WITH NO TITLE. And I made an icon for it. I really do wish it had a title though.
I also did my first Blog TV show the other night-- and by "Blog TV show" I mean I poked around on Blog TV and tried to figure out how it works while people from twitter watched. My evil master plan is to do a Blog TV show every Tuesday evening at 8pm. And I'm going to try (TRY) to come up with topics for each one. SO, this coming Tuesday,...

Everybody's Free
28 YA Authors give you advice on writing, publishing, and everything in-between.
(On a personal note: You have to watch this. Seriously. I called Apple Tech Support and scoured internet forums and said to authors I'd just met "HEY, I'm Jackson, can you be in my video?" securing my reputation as that-creepy-girl-with-the-camera. Don't make all my work be in vain. YOU have the power. The power to hit play. And to repost/link. And...other stuff.)

Christmas!
I have been editing a video all day. Seriously.
Well, that's not entirely true. I went to lunch and ate chocolate-chip-banana pancakes.
But other than that! I've got an upcoming video that is fun and involves lots of other authors and was cause for me to buy a fancy microphone for my computer. I want to post it NOW but I'm not done with it. Sigh.
SPEAKING of videos, I'm starting to panic because right now, sitting on my desk, is a prize package for my December giveaway winner. To backtrack-- if ...
