Forts

SWEETLY is sent to my editor! And PURITY is about to be sent to my agent! Which means I can work on THIS DAMN HISTORICAL NOVEL (not the actual title) again soon. I'm excited-- I really love TDHN but haven't been able to really touch it since January. Anyone else working on something this month?

Other news:
-OMG I cut my foot so badly. My house looks like a crime scene. If those people from CSI show up they're going to put me in the dark room with the metal table and ask me questions.
-No Live Sh...

Things to do...

Things I swear I'll do today:

-Research a way to stop killing every peace lily that dares come into my house.
-Finally order bookplates for the three zillion people who were nice enough to write me asking for them-- I swear I'll sent them asap.
-Find my other flip flop, which I think the dog or the cat STOLE and hid somewhere.
(Aside: I just selected the icon for this entry and now OMG I WANT CEREAL)
-Go to the Post Office and mail a bunch of stuff.
-Finish revising PURITY so I can send it to my ag...

Politics are confusing (but that's ok)

So, I read CNN every day. Actually several times a day, especially if I'm looking for reasons to avoid revising there's something super newsworthy happening.

And through reading CNN, I have learned this: Politics are confusing. And I don't mean in that "oh, silly me, they're just CRAZY!" flighty way, but in that genuine, "WHOA, I missed yesterdays news and apparently EVERYTHING ABOUT THE UNIVERSE HAS CHANGED in the last 24 hours" kind of way.

I remember in high school, saying that I was never g...

Live Show Topic: EDITING (scary music)

I've been working on editing SWEETLY for weeks now.
Well, kind of. I've been working on SWEETLY every day, getting frustrated, then finding things to do to avoid working on SWEETLY. I really really love the book, it's just been VERY hard to edit.

I wonder if it's because SWEETLY is my first for-publication book that's only told from one perspective-- both AS YOU WISH and SISTERS RED are told from alternating view points. I really enjoy alternating povs-- I think they make it a little easier to ...

No Live Show tonight, sadly-- because I'm going to a big Indian dance show, which I am very excited about. I'll be doing the Live Show on Thursday at the normal time, 8pm EST.

Twicon

So, I'm a little embarrassed to say that last year, I went to Twicon in Dallas. Twicon was an all-Twilight themed convention, where most panels started with the host asking the panelists (with complete reverence and conviction) "How did you find Twilight?" the same way that someone might ask "How did you find Jesus?"

I went to Twicon on my own dime because I thought it would be a great place to talk up and promote AS YOU WISH, which was being released about two weeks after Twicon. I bought two...

The pros and cons of owning a small dog

Look, I get it. Space Dog is kinda frou frou. She's tiny and precious and has this wide-eyed look that's constantly asking "Is this okay? Are you sure this is okay?" She has crazy hair and looks like she's wearing boots and is all around a girly, girly dog.

But here's the thing-- owning a little girly dog does not make you vapid. Or dumb. Or Paris Hilton (who, for the record, I think is smarter than she wants us to think she is). And I am getting increasingly frustrated at people acting surpri...

Wake up in the morning feeling like...

a lazy person.
I think back to high school, how the bell rang at 7:20am, how it was usually dark for the entire first period of school in the winter and can't BELIEVE I got through that for four years. How was that possible? 7:20! I can't even imagine getting up that early now! No! I refuse! I won't do it!

I've noticed that my internal clock has started slipping around. I typically go to bed at about 1-2am, and wake up around 9:30-10. And this is actually becoming a real life problem. See, by t...
