Meet the author

Addicted to Heroines Blog Tour Meet another author on the Addicted to Heroines Blog Tour: Samantha LaFantasie.
Take a guess as to what types of novels Samantha writes!

If you’ve read the other Blog Tour Author introductions, you may be noticing that, growing up, none of us aspired to be a writer. Maybe that’s because we already were writing, even as little girls. Come along on the tour, join the discussions and ask how did wannabe models, teachers, nurses, etc. become novelists.

Another author interview

The Cult of Me by Michael Brookes I’ve been interviewed by Michael Brookes, author of The Cult of Me, a novel; a jam-packed blog of the same name, and a collection of stories entitled An Odd Quartet.
All these interviews, it’s very flattering. Plus I’m finding that people who are readers but not writers are curious about the whole process and I’m enjoying talking about it.

On the road again

The Lost King is on the road again.
Hot on the heels of my first book chat, I’m embarking on my first book tour … and you can come along. Because this is a virtual book tour.

Instead of jetting from city to city, I’ll be bopping around cyberspace, visiting different blogs, i.e. a Blog Tour.

What’s a Blog Tour?

Addicted to Heroines Blog TourI’ll be joining four other authors of fantasy, urban fantasy, and paranormal books to celebrate fictional heroines. Our books feature sword-wielding women with brains, beauty and humor. If you’ve read The Lost King you know there’s a least one character who meets that description.

We authors will be hosting guest posts, contests, giveaways, and book excerpts.

The Blog Tour officially launches February 1, 2013. We’ll be making stops at Facebook, Twitter, GoodReads, the tour blog and of course, author blogs like Dee-Scoveries. Meet one of my traveling companions, Alesha Escobar. Then pack a bag and get ready to bop around the Internet with us on the Addicted to Heroines Blog Tour.

“The Lost King” to attend his first Book Fair

The Lost King, a literary fantasy by Devorah FoxThe Lost King will be attending a fair–The Texas Tropical Trail Book Fair, Tues., Jan. 15, 2013 at the Fulton Mansion, 317 S. Fulton Beach Road in Rockport, Texas.
I’ll be there too in case the King needs someone to fetch him an ale or something.

The Fair runs from 12:45 to 2:30 but there’s other programs as part of the event in the morning. No, there won’t be any jousting tournaments or bear baiting but there will be a reading by Jan Seale, the 2012 Poet Laureate of Texas. There’s no admission fee for the programs and fair. Fellow Rockport Writer Group member and author Pat Chapman will share my Book Fair table with her three books. We hope to see you there!

Talking about books

It’s official: the book club that meets at the Ellis Memorial Library in Port A will be discussing my novel,  The Lost King, at 6 p.m. on Tues., Jan. 8. You are certainly invited to come and I’d love to see you there if you can make it. I’m hoping that the readers will have questions to ask me, but if they don’t I’ll be bringing some questions to ask them.
I have gone to so many book chats in my reading life, learned a lot and really enjoyed myself, but this will be the first time I’ll be facing the audience!

Want to come but haven’t yet read the book? You can find print copies at the Port Aransas Art Center on Alister Street, at Sirena Water Wear in the Tower Plaza on Highway 361 and at the Estelle Stair Gallery on Austin Street in Rockport. You can also find it in print on amazon.com, bn.com and other online booksellers, and as a digital book on Kindle, Nook, iBook and other ebook stores.
