There Aren't Enough Openly Gay or Jewish Actors in Hollywood So Bradley Cooper Plays Gayface and Jewface in Leonard Bernstein Movie

There Aren't Enough Openly Gay or Jewish Actors in Hollywood So Bradley Cooper Plays Gayface and Jewface in Leonard Bernstein Movie

First, this is not a rant and it's not a complaint. I'm just sharing facts with readers.

When I was a teen in the 7th grade in a small Catholic School in New Jersey, we had a music teacher who was absolutely freaked out over Leonard Bernstein. And rightly so. Even though I didn't appreciate it at the time Bernstein was a genius.

On the third Tuesday of every month, t...

Even though I Love to Read Fiction by Black Authors I would NEVER Attempt to Write Black Fiction, Ryan Field Books

Even though I Love to Read Fiction by Black Authors I would NEVER Attempt to Write Black Fiction

I think my love for reading fiction by black authors started with James Baldwin, a gay black author who wrote Giovanni's Room. Giovanni's Room is about a confused ex-pat living in Paris in 1956, and the men in his life. It's probably one of the first books to bring "homosexuality" into the public during a time when anything "homosexual" was considered off limits.

I have also read every single book t...

Red, White, and Royal Blue the Almost Gay Movie, Gay Veterans Sue Defense Department, Ryan Field Books

Red, White, and Royal Blue the Almost Gay Movie

I think it has already been established that there is nothing more that mainstream straight viewers and readers love than a book or movie with gay content that was created by a non-gay author. In fact, they seem to cherish this kind of inauthentic movie or book. Many don't even know it is happening.

With that said, a new almost gay film was released and it is titled, Red, White, and Royal Blue. And it is gay content written by a non-gay male author...

Follow Up on Malaysian Festival and Gay Kiss, Ryan Field Books

Follow Up on Malaysian Festival and Gay Kiss

The organizers of the Malaysian Festival want $2 Million Plus from "The 1975" after "The 1975" frontman, Matt Healy, protested against the country's anti-gay laws. After his protests, the event allegedly wound up being canceled.

Legal counsel for Future Sound Asia who organized the event is claiming breach of contract. Healy claims he made a huge mistake by booking his band in such a homophobic country.

“I don’t see the fucking point… of inviting the ...

Ethiopia and Gay Sex in Hotels and other Places, Ryan Field Books

Ethiopia and Gay Sex in Hotels and other Places

Looks as if another hateful country in Africa is at it again. This time it is Ethiopia and they are "cracking down" on gay sex in places like hotels, restaurants, and bars.

This is nothing new in Africa. Several other countries have done similar things, especially those that criminalize gay sex.

The peace and security commission of Addis Ababa is taking action against those who commit "homosexual acts." They do this through tip-offs from the public....

Iraq Bans Term 'Homosexuality' for 'Sexual Deviance,' Ryan Field Books

Iraq Bans Term 'Homosexuality' for 'Sexual Deviance'

Iraq is another one of those religious countries with loosely defined moral and penal codes with regard to gay people. And they aren't even sure what they're doing half the time. In this particular case, they have banned the word homosexuality for sexual deviance in reference to gay people. They don't even know that we don't really like the word homosexuality either.

Although the term sexual deviance is not a positive way to refer to us, they...

1964 Ken and his Good Buddy Allan, Ryan Field Books

1964 Ken and his Good Buddy Allan

I love these old pop culture pieces. They always seem to be filled with gay culture references that the mainstreams can't figure out. But we know. Oh yes, we know all about this. I know it often promotes stereotypes...even before we knew the stereotypes existed...but it's all in fun. Just look at the new Ken played by Ryan Gosling. It's pure camp.

It is also a good example of quintessential heteronormative behavior.

In this particular case it's about the Ken dol...

NYC Student Charged with Hate Motivated Murder, Ryan Field Books

NYC Student Charged with Hate Motivated Murder

This story is really a follow up to the one I linked to a few days ago. O'Shae Sibley was attacked and stabbed to death outside of a NYC gas station. It allegedly happened when there was an altercation between two groups of friends.

As a result, a 17 year old was arrested and charged with hate motivated murder. This is what Mayor Eric Adams of New York City has to say.

“Parents lost a child, a child, to something that was clearly a hate crime,” Mayo...

More Gay Men Can Give Blood Now, Ryan Field Books

More Gay Men Can Give Blood Now

Even though the rules have eased up on gay men giving blood, they have been very strict for the past 40 years. It all started during the AIDS crisis in the 1980s when none of us knew what AIDS was all about.

But this month the Red Cross will use a more comprehensive approach to see who is and is not eligible to give blood. And it has nothing to do with whether they are gay or straight.

Apparently, the risk factor now is based on behavior instead of orientation. An...

Florida Reverses 'Don't Say Gay Ban' for High School Psych Class, Ryan Field Books

Florida Reverses 'Don't Say Gay Ban' for High School Psych Class

Here's some interesting news out of Florida.

They have made an allowance for the don't say gay laws so that at least one course can be taught But only after The higher education College Board stated that an Advanced Placement (AP) Psychology course violates the state's don't say gay laws with regard to LGBT content.

Apparently, the College Board claims there's no way to change the AP Psychology to censor the LGBT content. I didn't ...
