Call For Submissions: The Women Who Love to Love Gay Romance

This is a call for submissions for an anthology I'm going to be putting together myself, with Ryan Field Press, that is focused on the women who love to love gay romance, with women included in the storyline. As far as I know, no one's done anything like this before. There was a good non-fiction book released, I think, last year about it. But I haven't seen any fiction at all. And if there is one out there floating around, this one will be different.

In any event, I've wanted to do t...

"Jonah Sweet of Delancey Street" and One Benefit With Indie Publishing

I wanted to do one more post about "Jonah Sweet of Delancey Street" being offered for free on Amazon just in case someone misses it. And I wanted to combine that post with something that had to do with indie/self-publishing, too. I haven't posted much about indie publishing for a while and that's only because I've been so busy with contracted books. But I haven't backed away from indie publishing, and I haven't stopped thinking about it once since I began doing it about a year...

Free M/M Romance Erotic E-Book; Adam Goldberg Full Frontal Nude Scene

I'll post more about this over the weekend, but I decided to do a promotional thing with Jonah Sweet of Delancey Street, and it will be offered on Amazon as a free e-book starting January 19, 2013. It will be free for a week. I actually wanted to extend it, but there's only so much Amazon will let you do and you have to play by the rules. But I'm looking into that.

In any event, here's the Amazon link. As I said I'll post more over the weekend to make sure the information gets out. As a reade...

What is "Windowing" an E-book?

I was reading an article last night about "windowing" and I noticed a lot of people in the comment thread didn't know what "windowing" meant. So here's a quick post about it, with a few comments from me below.

From Teleread:

Delaying (which is to say, “windowing”) the e-book has been tried, but not all “serious readers” are so biddable as to let themselves be pressured into buying the hardback. Many of them will submit one-star reviews on Amazon decrying the publisher’s asinine anti-e-book pos...

Richard Blanco: Inaugural Poet 2013

When I decided to post more about Richard Blanco being selected as the first gay inaugural poet in 2013, I thought I'd be posting about basic info, like publications and background. I never thought I'd see what I did this morning. Evidently, Blanco's wiki page was altered and distorted by some online troll/bully.

But all is well now. Someone at wiki must have seen it fast because the distortions that were added have since been removed. But I have screen shots of what was writte...

Cover Artist Dawne Dominique; AJ Llewellyn Tribute to Director John Bruno

I've been meaning to post something about cover artist Dawne Dominique for a while now. As a side note, I've also wanted to post something about my cover artist for Ravenous Romance for a long time, too, but he doesn't want the publicity at all. Over the years, I've noticed this trend with some of the best cover artists I've come in contact with. They aren't interested in promotion or any glory at all. They love what they do and expect very little in return. In fact, I can say for certain I h...

30 Most Anticipated Books 2013; Valerie Harper's Book; Jeff Probst Show; Venfield Plug

First, let me get a shameless plug out of the way and talk about Venfield NYC, a high end designer boutique in New York. My brother is one of the owners (he's the "field" in Venfield). He and his business partner have been selling to, and designing for, some well known celebs around the globe for over twenty years now. They cater to everyone and the showroom is open all the time, but some of their most notable clients have included the likes of Lucy Liu and Danielle Steel. The first location...

Gay Erotic Fiction: Free Excerpt

With so many things happening in the world, I often back away from promoting my own books and focus on issues that deal with things either publishing related or LGBT related. I also don't like to promote too much because it always feels so awkward. Actually, it feels creepy and declasse.

So I often do the exact opposite and don't focus much at all on book promotion. Which isn't fair to readers either. To rectify this, one of my New Year's resolutions will be to post unpublished excerpts...

American Apparel Supports Gay Marriage: Lena Dunham Does the Same; This Literary Agent is Full

In a follow up to a post I did yesterday about gay marriage in France, here's something interesting that American Apparel is doing in support. And the other links are things I found interesting,..though not totally related to gay marriage...I'm posting about because tomorrow's going to be one of those busy deadline days and I'm not sure I'll have time to post anything.

American Apparel T-Shirt Giveaway

American Apparel plans to give away 10,000 “Legalize Gay” t-shirts in its stores and on...

Jodi Foster Talks About Sexuality: Asswipes Speak Out

Not only did actress Jodi Foster win the Cecile B. Demile award at last night's Golden Globes, she also won over the hearts of many LGBT people you won't normally hear about by openly discussing a very private part of her life she doesn't have to discuss.

Most people already knew she was gay, but I'm sure there were some who didn't...maybe the Pope? Or that literature teacher I posted about in France yesterday? In any event, the fact that Foster talked about herself this way, with a...
